I totally agree. He seemed to aim this at argentinians for some weird reason. The problem is he may not have said it but the paper/magazine might have added it. Don't know who is to blame for the shocking allegation. I can't see Messi being like that with Eto, Rijkaard his best friend Ronaldinho at the tme and now Alves, Keita, Abidal etc. Does anyone saying he is racist really believe he could be like that with players like Eto, Henry and manager Rijkaard before in the team, they would have killed him and now Keita, Alves (one of his best friends who he has invited to his friendly game). Absolute rubbish this is, they best come with some proof or if not I hope messi sues them and bankrupts em.

thanks for putting the value of pedro into perspective. Did Henry not say that Pedro was such an influence and deserved to start ahead of him, sure he did and think that means more than part-time barca fans.

I think we do have quite a few wingers but worrying thing is say villa and pedro and sanchez are out, doesn't seem we would have the same influence up front (not counting messi as he is a roamer for me). We need a proper central forward/striker. Villa is one but to back him up we need someone like Llorente for certain games (he wont move and Bilbao need to keep him to challenge more), be good to rotate them both. LB, CB and CF would be good.

I think Torres would be good for us, although people will slate me for saying that because his goal rate isn't so good but he would be perfect for us with his heading power, strength and pace. He is slowly getting back into form and he would be able to be kept up front on his own when required and obviously can help out if we decide to go with 2 forwards with messi and sanchez on the wings against teams who are too defensive Llorent is good but might slow us down on quick counter attacks look at Ibra as an example.

Any true barca fan we know him a lot better and this may sound impolite but you are sounding like a 6 year old kid who doesn't quite have the understanding of what supporting a club and it's players mean yet. Actually I take that back, even my kids had a better understanding at that age. Another thing its THEN and not THAN hmmmm you are a small child.

how ill loaning help pedro adn cuenca? It will not maek them taller and stronger!!!
I am surprised how people still believe physique is important – its almost useless now .Small players rule the world at the moment. Look at PL – silva mata aguero- all small players. Height and strength doesnt matter
Chelsea had strong players but that didnt help. They couldnt muster more than two shots and theri defence was cut opened ( but the poor finishing!!!!!!) .But you get the point – Villa messi pedor the best ever combination.

However do agree – two tall and strong defenders is important – We have pique and masch. Need one more wehn puyol gets older

Like the fact we need defense? Our losses came, not from an inability to score (although against parked bus we sometimes looked at a loss for what to try) but from an inability to prevent successful counter-attacks. Most goals against came out of the blue, when we suddenly found ourselves on the defensive and came up lacking. We need a couple strong defenders, quick and with great situational responsiveness, to help prevent those goals that seemingly come out of nowhere, but in reality beat our current defensive weaknesses… and cost us SO MUCH. If not for a couple goals, we would have done the double repeat of La Liga and CL.
Why try to improve what we're already the best at (offense) when everyone agrees that our weakness is defense? Let's put the money where the need is.

Yep we've got a good crop of wingers and I believe in them, Pedro particularly is proven and this year means nothing since he was injured and had so little play time. I think Villa still has lots to offer and I think Affellay will be fantastic once he gets settled in to the rhythm of playing regularly. Same with Sanchez, he's great with movement and goal sense. If these players could have a season to gell with Messi, it could be the most awesome attacking force immaginable.

As for a striker, yeah Falcao would be as good as anyone, probably the best choice in fact. As well, he's still relatively young (26), and I like his record with Porto, Athletico, and in big games. Guardiola likes him, having said he's sensational and one of the most talented players in the world. Too bad we didn't sign him BEFORE his stock went up.

I think Pedro gets derided a lot for missing goals, but in all honesty I think Pedro is so significant to the build-up of Barcelona's attacks. Watch games when he plays in closely and you'll notice all the one-twos he participates in and around the box. You'll also notice how the attack tends to look smoother. He's been out of form for most of the season, but you see he still makes a difference in build-up in games where he plays. He and Messi link up very well too, especially in the final third. I remember reading he's assisted quite a few of Messi's goals.

For leftback I prefer Alba

- had a great season at Valencia
- much cheaper than Bale
- already knows the players from National team
- played in La Masia, so knows the Barca culture
- small but got lungs of a giant

For centre-back, i would go for Mats Hummels

- only 23 years old
- already one of Bundesligas (/Europes) best defenders
- used to playing a passing-style
- very experienced for his age
- much cheaper than Silva
- contract expires next season i think
