Cameroon failed to qualify for the finals of the African Nations Cup falling on aggregate 3-2 to Cape Verde in a two leg playoff. This means that FC Barcelona’s newest signing Alex Song will be available for matches in January and February. Cameroon, who lured former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o out of international retirement for the match, were beaten 2-0 in the first leg of the tie, and although they won the second game 2-1, it was not enough to qualify for the finals.
