Bartra and Muniesa: Dreams comes true
Two of FC Barcelona’s defenders, Marc Bartra and Marc Muniesa, both of whom will join the first team this coming season, admitted that their dreams have come true.
Bartra and Muniesa, along with Martín Montoya and Jonathan Dos Santos, will be first team players starting this 2012-13 season. On Saturday, both participated in the Nike Camp that is taking place in Andorra. “When you’re little you dream of playing in this Barça and now it has come true,” said Bartra. Muniesa added that “Barça is one of the best moments in history and we want to participate.”
Both players responded to questions from children at the Nike Camp and played several games with the young players who attended the summer program.
The two Marcs also agreed when pointing to a reference in the first team: Carles Puyol. “Since Puyol started in the first team he has been my idol,” acknowledged Bartra. “He always takes good care of all who join the first team,” said Muniesa. Now they will be Puyol’s teammates in the dressing room.
Asked about the Balón de Oro, Bartra and Muniesa explained that “Messi is above the rest”, but both agreed that it would be nice if the award would go to a defensive player like Pique or Puyol, or someone like Xavi or Iniesta, all with huge merits at the club and the Spanish team.
