Barça dominate 2012 IFFHS awards

FC Barcelona can again take great pride in dominating tonight’s International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) gala.  The reputed German organization will crown FC Barcelona as the “Best Club in the World”.  That is only 1 of 4 awards won by the club and its members, with Pep Guardiola as “Best Manager”, Xavi named “Best Creator”, and Messi earning the “Best International Goalscorer”.  Messi was also named runner up to Xavi in his category.

La Liga itself has been lauded with the “Strongest League in the World”, while Casillas maintains best goalkeeper for the 5th year running.  Cristiano Ronaldo earns silver behind Messi for the goalscorer award.  Furthermore, of the 18 award winners (gold and silver in 9 categories), 7 will go to Spanish footballers or coaches.
