Messi is on the list of players called up for the League match this Sunday away at Betis. Barça’s no. 10 trained this Saturday with the group and Tito Vilanova has decided that he will make the trip to Sevilla. The Argentine footballer is recovering from a knock to his left knee that caused him to leave the pitch on Wednesday on a stretcher. After the collision with Benfica’s keeper Artur, the blaugrana forward has been working hard to be available as quickly as possible.
The Barça crack completed Saturday’s training session with the group. Working alongside him were all the available members of the first team as well as Barça B’s Tello. In addition to Messi, there was additional good news at today’s training session at the Ciutat Esportiva. Marc Bartra, Alexis Sánchez and Dani Alves have received their medical clearances. Abidal continued to work on his own, separate from the group.
Marc Bartra has recovered from a thigh strain in his right leg picked up during training on November 18. Alexis Sánchez has overcome a sprained right foot while on international duty with Chile. Dani Alves has recovered from a pulled hamstring in his right leg. Of the players now available to Vilanova, the coach has decided to include Alves and Alexis on his list for Sunday’s match. Bartra will be rested, along with Montoya and Dos Santos.
The first team will travel to Sevilla on Sunday morning, with the game against Betis set to kick-off at 21:00.
