Alexis Sánchez has rejoined FC Barcelona’s squad this Friday afternoon for a training session following Chile’s match against Ghana earlier in the week in Philadelphia (United States). The blaugrana winger was one of 19 footballers working on pitch no. 1 of the Ciutat Esportiva as Guardiola prepares his players for Saturday’s match at Camp Nou against Sporting Gijon (20:00).
For this match Guardiola will be without Messi and Busquets, both suspended after picking up their fifth yellow cards. Additionally, the coach will be without Abidal, who is injured, and Thiago’s availability remains in doubt owing to pain in the midfielder’s right tibia. To make up the numbers, four players from the B team took part in today’s training session, namely Tello and Muniesa, who trained on Thursday with the first team, as well as Jonathan dos Santos and Sergi Roberto.
The team will hold its final training session on Saturday morning at the Camp Nou. The closed session will begin at 11:30.
