Alexis Sánchez will not play this Wednesday against Malaga. Tests on Tuesday afternoon were carried out to determine the extent of the player’s bruising in his left thigh from Sunday’s match against Rayo Vallecano. These tests have confirmed that the Chilean winger will miss the match at the Camp Nou against Malaga, as announced by the Club’s Medical Services.
Another player who will be missing on Wednesday is Gerard Piqué. After completing a week of rest, the central defender’s progress has been very favourable. This Tuesday he was able to work on the pitch, but outside of the group. He’ll miss Wednesday’s game and his continued progress will determine his availability for the other upcoming matches.
Also back on the pitch today was Víctor Valdés, who missed Monday’s training session with a fever and general malaise. The player was back this Tuesday, working with the rest of the group that also included Bartra, Tello, and Montoya from the reserves.
