Alexandre Song (24), who arrived from Arsenal, passed his medical this morning and has signed his contract that runs for five seasons.

Alex Song stopped by the Club’s offices to pose for the traditional photo with the FC Barcelona crest earlier this morning. Then, the Cameroonian underwent his medical at Hospital Barcelona and the Medical Center of the Ciutat Esportiva. This was followed by him signing the contract. President Sandro Rosell, vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu, the director of football Andoni Zubizarreta and the player’s representative, Darren Dean, were all present at the signing ceremony.

He will be presented to the Camp Nou ahead of tonight’s Joan Gamper Estrella Damm Trophy game against Sampdoria.

Doctor Ricard Pruna talked about the medical tests Song had to undergo. He said, “His body fat percentage is extremely low and he has good muscle quality. I don’t think he’s had muscle injuries since he was 17, and that’s really good news. He passed all the tests and he’s at the manager’s disposition.”
