The representative of the Barcelona Dutchman concedes that he is holding talks with various clubs to agree a loan move for the player.
Ibrahim Afellay (26) has been linked many times with a move away from Barcelona, not least of which has been this summer.
The player’s agent, Rob Jansen, stated on the Dutch television station NOS that he is “in discussions with several other clubs’ in order to finalise the player’s departure.” The transfer would presumably be in the form of a loan move, although according to the same agent, “everything depends on Barcelona, who ultimately has the final say in where the players go.” In addition, Jansen admitted that, “it will be better for Afellay to get more minutes on the pitch. He has the qualities to succeed at Barcelona, however, his serious injury was a huge setback.” Since arriving at Barcelona in December 2010, Afellay has made 20 appearances and scored one goal. An anterior cruciate ligament rupture in September 2011 kept him out of action for more than seven months. The former PSV star put in some memorable performances during the preseason however, but despite his declaration that he has confidence in Tito Vilanova, the Barcelona manager left him out of the squad for the weekend encounter at CA Osasuna.
