A 360,000€ absence
According to Barcelona-based sports paper El Mundo Deportivo, Messi’s last minute absence from today’s trip to Germany will cost FC Barcelona 30% (360,000 euros) of the 1.2 million euro fee they agreed upon to play the friendly in Hamburg.
Upon learning of the Argentine’s calf injury, Barça sent word to Hamburg SV along with a medical report for verification. Additionally, president Sandro Rosell will have the chance to explain the details in person when he dines with his colleagues from Hamburg’s board of directors today.
