22 players will travel to Germany

FC Barcelona has moved on from the defeat in Pamplona, with the squad’s full attention turned towards Tuesday’s Champions League match in Germany, where they will face Beyer Leverkusen in the first leg of the Round of 16. For this match, Pep Guardiola has called up all his available players from the first team, including Sergio Busquets, who will travel without medical clearance. The midfielder was able to participate in part of today’s training session.

Also traveling to Germany are five players from Barça B: Dos Santos, Tello, Sergi Roberto, Marc Bartra, and Oier Olazábal.

The team trained this morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, in the only session in Barcelona before the squad makes the trip to Germany. Today’s session involved recovery work for the starters against Osasuna. The rest of the squad trained with full intensity on pitch no. 2. Besides the players of the first team, also present on the pitch were Dos Santos, Tello, Sergi Roberto, who traveled to Pamplona, as well as Oier, Masip, Sergi Gómez, Rosell, Balliu, Espinosa, and Lobato.

The blaugrana will depart Barcelona on Monday morning, at 10:30, flying to Cologne. The city close to Leverkusen is where the team will stay during their trip to Germany. Guardiola’s team will then train in the afternoon at Bay Arena, starting at 19:00. Before the session, at 18:15, Guardiola and Dani Alves will face the press.

Squad list: Valdes, Pinto, Alves, Piqué, Fàbregas, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Thiago, Mascherano, Pedro, Adriano, Abidal, Alexis, Cuenca, Sergio Busquets, Dos Santos, Tello, Sergi Roberto, Bartra, and Oier

  1. KSH says:

It's been the same old story with Real all season. Ramos shouldn't even be on the pitch.

  2. coamtose_011 says:

    Well… Madrid’s 10th penalty. I say 4-1 for Madrid :/

  3. Claussen_Barca says:

Even if they lose today I respect Levante, only team in la Liga this season who stands up to Madrid and fight with heart. If they lose today it's because of the reffs, it's F***** ridiculous how much reffs favor Madrid this season.

    • Words says:

People are totally blind when they dont want to point out that the ref is handing the league to Madrid. Sad but true.

      • 9>4 says:

omg, its not the referees fault that barca is crap in away games. their performance is shitty, dont blame it on the referee

        • Claussen_Barca says:

Barca may be bad in away games but it's obvious so many reff calls have favor Madrid this season. I don't like to talk about reffs because, they're humans like us, but it's true how Madrid players never get red card when they should.

  4. Sergio says:

Stonewall penalty and red card. Why the complaints?

    • barcafanir says:

Sidlowe#:"Handball was clear but I don't understand why refs in Spain take out yellow for every single handball."

      • Sergio says:

Then the rules for handball should be looked at at the end of the season.

        Rules are rules.

        • nik says:

it wasn't an intentional handball…….. it touched his head and by mistake touched his hand…. and it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity or anything…. by rules if it is unintentional and not a clear goal scoring opportunity it is not a panelty….. refree gave the penalty after thinking for 5 sec and coming under pressure from whiny madraid players and fan's….. This is every week's drama… that Christiano panelty will make a record amount of penalty goal's… but will never be happy … the joy of scoring lik messi will alway's give him a kick in the ass…. :P

    • Bachar says:

noeone is talking about the penelty, we are saying that ramos should be sent off

    • KSH says:

No one's really complaining about the penalty. Real get so many penalties it isn't even funny anymore. Ramos shouldn't be on the pitch, that's why we're complaining and I don't see how anyone can defend that. He kicked a player. Straight red card. End of.

  5. hoho says:

How was that a yellow card? Or even a penalty? He touched it with his hand sure, but it wasn't intentional. From the replay you could see he was trying to head it first. Pepe's blocking a direct shot on goal at Getafe was far worse than that and yet he was unpunished. fuck them all CHEATERS!!!!!!!

  6. barcafanir says:

I think Pep is really smart – he sees this ref corruption in Spain, but can't talk about it. So he focuses on trophies not related to Spanish ref, and trains youngsters in Laliga.

    • barcafanir says:

This may be also the reason of complacency in Laliga games, you can't move the wall. You feel frustrated with injustice and give up eventually. What surprises me why Rosell is silent about this….
I think Barca should strike their participation in NT, let Ramos and Co fight in Euro 2012.

  7. asdf says:

you people are insane. That's always a penalty and Madrid were denied a legitimate goal earlier. Ref corruption, yeah right, pffft. Batshit crazy I swear.

  8. nik says:

it wasn't an intentional handball…….. it touched his head and by mistake touched his hand…. and it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity or anything…. by rules if it is unintentional and not a clear goal scoring opportunity it is not a panelty….. refree gave the penalty after thinking for 5 sec and coming under pressure from whiny madraid players and fan's….. • Claude says:

It's no ones fault that we are 10 points behind but our own. Too many draws, poor passing at the back, missed chances, missed penalties etc…
Stop the conspiracy theories and leave that to mourinho and his trashy team.

  9. barcafanir says:

From sidlowe twitter about Ramos: "The one that confused me most was Ramos: card must have been for kicking out, but kicking out is a red, is it not?"

  10. Cool as a Cule says:

I like your comment saying Barcelona losing to Arsenal before facing Madrid, and Madrid winning the Champions League, coz you are sure, Whatever you do, Morinho can’t defeat Barcelona! :D

  11. Bachar says:

this is the result of the red card :@

  12. KSH says:

What makes you so sure you won't bump into us on the way? Then there's no chance of you winning it.

  13. Sergio says:

    Cristianoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. bender says:

fukc u madrid… how is this even possible to have so much luck.. the ref destroyed the game in less than 6 mins… from 0:1 for levante he gave madrid the 10 penalty and a red card to levant.. what the fuck this league is a real shame…

ronaldo should feel ashamed for getting his 10 penalty of 1 season…

    • david says:

what?! another red card?! another penalty?! something is stink here! some many mistakes for barca and so many gifts for real!!!

  15. samuel says:

    what a goal
i hate his guts but the was good!

  16. samuel says:

thats was real madrid 4000th goal!

  17. Bla says:

Why is that no one is mentioning the disallowed benzama goal

  18. nik says:

take that in your face… madrid

  19. KSH says:

Oh well. Let's focus on Tuesday.
Anyone watching Zambia vs. Ivory Coast? Not exactly a cracking final… can't believe Drogba missed a penalty.

  20. joeyjets says:

great counterattack by levante, cmon give us a draw atleast <3 :)

  21. Naho says:

If I remember correctly that penalty messi scored against Betis it was given for a handball against a Betis defender who already had a yellow and the ref used the right to give the penalty but not give a second yellow .. even in England the other day there was an unintentional handball for which a penalty was given. Ur not even a first yellow but noooooo not against Madrid!!

  22. Naho says:

Love Levante even if they lose he’ll even if they give Barca hell next time we play them in Valencia at least they try their best with everybody .. How many teams scored against Madrid after the usual situation of being reduced to 10

  23. Willey says:

There is no way we win the CL because Pep has developed a culture where the league games are not that important and the players have began to mentally check out of the games. There is no way as a team u can care little about a game and Saturday and be at ur best on Tuesday for a CL game. It just doesnt work like that.

We might get by Leverkusen but we wont win the CL. Pep have been a great Manager over the last 3 seasons but he has badly mismanaged the team this season. In yesterdays game regardless of what he said to the team pre game the mere fact that he sat Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas told them that the game wasnt important and that's why we lost (lack of intensity)

Madrid has been behind us in each of the last 3 season and continued to chase us with everything they had until the last game of the season. Why couldnt we do that? Why have we given up with 16 games to go? That goes against what Barca is about and im VERY VERY disappointed….

    • Cules' Cule says:

I agree 100% U should never give up no matter what. It sends the wrong message to the players and it will come back to bit us in the Champions League…

    • Words says:

      Sadly i agree.

He needs to correct this philosophy he suddenly began with this season about all these experimental lineups. Like you say, it doesnt only weaken our team, but we are also then sending wrong signals and thats not good. I have trust in Pep though. I dont think Pep should be fired or anything though, he has given us far too much for that and he is great at learning from his mistakes (perhaps because of his humble nature).

    • Claude says:

Badly managed the team to 3 cups and another final???
Don't be crazy. Madrid aren't drawing their games, I hate to say it but it's worse to blame Pep than say Madrid hav done well in the league…but head to head we are much better than them.

  24. Words says:

Ref decided this game by not sending Ramos off. Sad but true. Every single game of Madrid it is like this…

    • KSH says:

It's like I said earlier. It's the same story every week.
      Real Madrid go 1-0 down.
The other side get a player sent off and/or a penalty.
      Real Madrid then run riot.

  25. barcafanir says:

From sidlowe twitter: "RM fans chanting: "the cup final is not to be played here".

  26. KSH says:

Question: Why are you even here?

  27. Dedicated Fan says:

And how immature and childish to be gloating on the opposing team's blog …. makes you look like you are 7 yrs old….

  28. Bla says:

    At the begining

  29. barcafanir says:

Let's face it – when team decides to give the decent fight to Real, they got penalty and players sent off. This happen to Athletico and Levante and all great others, which didn't deserve this and trying to play game.
Corruption everywhere and sport is loosing it's beauty and dignity.

    • jr. says:

oh please…that was clearly a pk and red card.we can't go around bitching about refs when they make the right call.

    • 9>4 says:

yeah sport isnt losing its dignity when there are racists and divers in barcelona lol ok

      • Words says:

Says the fan of a team with epic divers like Pepe and Dive Maria. Racists? The petulant thug Marcelo has no credibility and less credibility than Kanoute, who admitted he just made some BS up when he threw a tantrum before Messi's penalty.

        • 9>4 says:

lol i admit that di maria and pepe dive, but your whole team dives, messi, busquets, alves, mascherano, pique, so you're not even denying that busquets is a racist.

          • 9>4 says:

i forgot alexis and villa lololol

          • blahblah says:

            Yeah, Messi dives.

What else in the ga-ga land?

          • 9>4 says:

lol you must've missed his stupid dive against chelsea, when he fell then got up when he knew the referee didnt pay any attention and when the referee looked at him he fell again, not to mention countless other dives, my commentator actually laughs at the lack of contact.

        • Trays says:

Real Madrid’s and Totally Goats ”Kristy” appearing as ”9>4” is having her field day here as she ridicules and insults everyone. Well, these things dont last. So enjoy yourself for now!!

  30. bender says:

what is it why we cant win away game like before ??

    1. missing motivation
    2. lack of luck
    3. bad decisions
    4. injuries

and although i dont get it why the heck

    1. madrid doesnt even loose a single point
    2. gets 10 penalties
    3. always turns around a game after being 0:1 behind
    4. seems to much fresher and not tired like our players… look at the chances messi had the last weeks..would never miss them..

    • barcafanir says:

Did you watch the game? Sending player off and giving a penalty is called "turns around the game".
Playing 10 against 11 everybody will look "fresher and not tired". Somehow Gaynaldo was not able to score the decent one when Levante had 11 players on the pitch.

      • FCBLife says:

thats a cheap arguement against the goal my freind, it was a great goal leave it to be.. but the card and penalty did ultimately change the game!!

        IN PEP WE TRUST!!

    • barcafanir says:

BTW, I would miss motivation too. If every single game, Barca players are kicked and injured and ref are silent and not give the deserved penalties. Would you keep your motivation and get injured for the Laliga that already sold? I don't think so.

  31. Richzorz says:

Can't argue against the handball and penalty too much, though yellow was harsh given that it didn't look intentional (but yellow for all handballs seems to be the spanish way). Interesting that Ramos only received a yellow for kicking out at the Levante player though, not sure it woudl've been such an easy game if Madrid had gone down to 10 whilst 1-0 down…

  32. Caesarean says:

its good 2 see all tha madrid fans have tha guts 2 come on this site and comment. You’ve been waiting a long long time 2 feel like big shots.

U have awfully big mouths for people who havent won any worth your overcompensating attitudes. Cant wait 2 thrash u again, and take trophies that u pay 4 – so u can crawl into tha holes u all of a sudden misguidedly came out of.
Its barca’s time Mudrid (cause ur dirt)

  33. david says:

corruption corruption corruption why cant you see this?! its ridiculous It's worse than Franco period !

wake upp !! its like every match its 1:0 against madrid and the ref Pulls out red card and a penalty !!!

  34. fcbarcelonafan says:

lol the last picture with iniesta is so funny.

  35. TRUETHIOBARCAFAN says:

if we don't win it because of our players mentality stop saying madrid win beause of ref at least when they where behind us the keep fighting till the end.that not what i saw four the away games we played.

    • Erich says:

Exactly! There's no doubt that we had many calls against us this season, but in the last years that didn't matter because we won anyway. Why? Because most of the time the team showed the proper mentality and attitude on the pitch.

A team like the current Barça, with that amount of talent on the pitch, can only beat itself. If Barça play with maximum focus and intensity, they are unbeatable. Somehow the league doesn't seem to be important this year, at least subconciously. Just compare the away stats from La Liga and Champions League and you get the picture.

  36. messi says:

Like in the ramon calderon era this korupt bastard, madrid bought the refs again and somebody should react for next season, undiano is one of my favourites he is such a smart one ,i have seen him blow games in the europa league cl where he has blown with not one mistake can you believe it with same criteria and no mistake, to come to the penalty he gave if undiano does not understand the game and the situation in a game, who does ? it was handball thats right but the ball falls down and the player looks to the opposite palyers positioning and from himself and the ball fall first on his right then on his left arm with absolutely no intetion and no danger in play, but the second yellow for intention was the hit ,absolutely shameful a shame ,and i know that this would happen i lost my nerves like never before my dear lcd plazma is gone, cause of this bastard undiano mallenco ,its a scandal if this was a penalty then pepes handball infront of the ref was also one ,10 penalties in 21 games thats a record in all europe, do you wang to know the overage penalties given in la liga i will tell you from the 20 teams 1.72 overage ,and now comes the kingdom of madrid with exactly unbelievable 10 …10 penalties and 0 against 0 against thats a little bit too much to believe it can be real how many times the real players played such handballs more than 10, its discusting and i hope somebody will react for next season…

  37. My concern is not about Madrid winning every single game (of course those bastards are being helped by the refs) What's my concern is is, FC Barcelona, the team I love and support not playing like they used to. COME ON BARCA!!!! WE CAN SHAKE THE WORLD!!!

    • 9>4 says:

you said it yourself, "not playing like they used to" exactly, this has nothing to do with the referees, barcelona are shit now

      • Let me prove you wrong. Madrid is what you call the "best team" in the world with "the best players" Now, FC Barcelona f*cks them every single time they play. What's happening here? JUST WAIT AND WATCH! Winning 3/6 trophies already not a bad record. We are already in the cup final and we are #1 contender to reach the CL final. 5/6 trophies will look BETTER than 1/6 trophies.(thanks to the referees)

  39. Flywoman says:

Hmm, no photos of Messi at this practice? Has anyone heard any news about him?

    • Charl says:

I dont think he should train, he should just rest, at this point rest will do him more good than training

      • Barca1 says:

Based on how Messi's been playing of late he should be training extra hard but maybe thats his problem he doen't want to work at getting over his plateaus.

  40. Inder says:

Admin: should block trolls… Dunno how it works with others, but with the few Madrid sites i visit, i have a rapport with the writing staff and im very careful about how i say something, even if we have just won a clasico.
I go there to have a healthy discussion not to kick them when they’re down…
As for Madrid, well CL has a different set of refs so lets hope for a clasico…earlier i didn’t want a clasico cause there were so many over the last couple of years…now, i want them as soon as possible…time to remind them of a few things…
As for the Madrid fan here…don’t be a douche and fall for the rhetoric,ur own club has started…either look to argue ur points in an intelligent manner or sod off!

  41. niharFCB says:

no one smiling on that training.

  42. pelezinho says:

Our best Offensive trident: MAT….Have a guess at it urself!

  43. Charl says:

We need Busquets back in DM
But dont u think our back four and Messi looks really tired? Mentally and physically they look drained to me.

  44. Barca!!!! says:

Alexis isn't as deadly as villa and his on his ass most of the time

  45. ForcaBarca!!! says:

looking at this, as much as I love Pep he has to feel to blame for our Osasuna defeat.
I say this for two reasons. Before I give my opinion let me state that Pep is human and like every coach including, Mou, SAF, Wenger etc they do occasionaly make a mistake.
    http://www.totalbarca.com/2012/matches/the-rating

1.He should of started Cesc, Tello and Cuenca and its not as if they have not been playing well I am sure he wasnt surprised by there performances when they came on, specially Cuenca and Tello, he should have brought on messi late second half, that is the one thing Pep lacks control over when Messi plays and when he doesnt.

    2. No one cant have any doubt at the quality of our back 4, the fact that Puyol, Abidal and Pique were all so poor can only point to the fact that they are tired and need a break. Pep must realise that he has not signed any defenders nor has he brought through any youngsters.

Looking forward to seeing how the boys respond tomorrow eve, Iniesta and Xavi`s hearts must have been bleeding on the edge of the pitch!

    tots units fem forca!
    Visca Barca
    Visca Catalunya!

  46. The Grinder says:

D game against Osasuna is past now. Its best to forget about it. Now, our focus is in d UCL tomorrow against Levercrusen. We must win dat match with a very convincing victory so dat our away form will get better and get back to fighting 4 d league title in our remaining 16 games. I strongly believe that the league is not yet lost and with an excellent perfomance in our games from now on; who knows… We may still be able to destabilize RealMadrid and overcome this 10 point deficit. Barca needs to step up their game big time and play like true world champions which they are known to be. Visca Barca!!! Mes que un club…

  47. Daniel says:

oh!barca are we lusin concentratn. Messi’s shot is lusin power, missin targets 2 much delays at de goalline, backline cant run,Valdes alowing cheap balls into de net with captain band disgraceful.wake uppp oooo.our revenge tact is falln.no more draws, loose or so e’er n’er say die until de bones a roten.
