totalBarça Exclusive: “Barça is a great symphony”
Today we want to share with you two songs performed by Toni Beiro that are closely connected with FC Barcelona. In addition to the great videos, we have a little surprise for you, an exclusive interview with the artist. Toni agreed to share the ‘background’ story about his songs and some opinions about FC Barcelona. Click continue reading to enjoy the interview and listen to the songs.
totalBarça: First of all, thanks for the chance to ask you a few questions. When I heard your songs “El Petit Més Gran” and “La simfonia perfecta” for the first time I thought about your reasoning in performing such songs. How did you come up with the idea to write and sing about FC Barcelona and Messi?
Toni Beiro: To be honest, since Frank Rijkaard joined Barça I have been in love with that team. Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta and the introduction of Messi, it was an addiction to see them playing and they were real football promises! For me it was a weekly motivation to watch that team playing, wonderfully dancing on the grass. Since Pep joined the Club as a coach and with Messi’s confirmation in the first team it has been a wonderful show week after week. Finally, when you enjoy something so much and feel this way, for me as an artist it is a must to write about it. It has been easy for me and also a pleasure to capture that feeling in these two songs.
totalBarça: Why did you decide to dedicate the song to Messi? What is so special about him in your opinion?
Toni Beiro: Messi has that special charisma on the field, especially the soul and spirit that he’s transmitting, same as a child playing football. That’s when it’s real magic and everything tends to be very pure. I share that spirit and I understand it perfectly because when I go on stage to play it fills me deeply, it’s the only way to shine. True feelings, having fun and transmitting all that energy to others in a very pure and true way! I was hypnotized with Messi and at the same time identified with him, and this is my tribute to him.

totalBarça: In the very poetic lyrics you don’t mention his name, you call him “el petit mes gran”, also in “La simfonia perfecta” you don’t mention the name of FC Barcelona, any player or coach. Why have you chosen that way of expression?
Toni Beiro: There are many songs dedicated to the players and the world of football, in my humble opinion I think that those songs are so freaky, usually very, very easy, very poor and with nonsense lyrics … It seems that everyone can make a song about Messi and upload it to the net. The only thing I did was make a song like I always did before. In the same way I usually do, from the soul, from my honest feelings and I didn’t fall into the easy way. It is not just a song dedicated to one player, to me it’s much more, a song with power and feeling. And it can be a motivation for some people that need to overcome things, full of metaphors and made in an artistic way. I think it’s better that people think a little and discover the message. That it is not fast food or junk music, I think it’s a song that will remain in the memory of a demanding public.
totalBarça: Do you know if Messi has heard this song about himself?
Toni Beiro: Some people have said to me that they would send the song to Messi, but I personally didn’t receive any confirmation message from him yet, who knows … I think sooner or later he will listen to the song, it would be wonderful, the circle will be completely closed!
totalBarça: The songs were recorded quite recently, during this glorious time of Barcelona winning so many titles and, as many say, when we are witnessing the best football team in the history of the Club. Do you consider Barcelona’s style of playing as art?
Toni Beiro: Definitely yes! That was the reason I was writing these songs. The truth is that I am a big fan of all REAL art, Steven Spielberg’s movies, Led Zeppelin’s music, etc. … I mean it has to be true, and now Barça is a great symphony, a perfect clock machine, a wonderful dance composition, shows art by all sides and for all senses, is much more than a team of 11 players, is a philosophy … It’s the best I’ve ever seen in my life as far as football is concerned!

totalBarça: Recently your new album Utopías Coloristas was released. It’s quite eclectic, from acoustic songs to some inspired by Andalusian Rock and electronic music, a bit of pop and blues. You sing in Catalan and Spanish. How would you describe your own style?
Toni Beiro: My own style is a music fusion that makes me grow as a guitarist, composer and singer. The music I’ve heard throughout my life which makes me feel something, makes me overcome as a musician and makes me a better person, music for the soul and feelings! It is a mix of rock, blues, good pop, all that with a strong Spanish touch, Flamenco. When you take all those ingredients, mix it, and shake it powerfully, the result is Toni Beiro! (laughing)
totalBarça: Where can we listen to more of your songs?
Toni Beiro: Well, you can follow me through the different social networks, on facebook, myspace, my own website tonibeiro.es and also on twitter @Beiro74. There I share dates of shows, some recent news, etc. Also at Vicious Group you can buy my latest record, Utopias Coloristas! See you guys on the net!

The song “El Petit més Gran”
Translation:
He has the honuor and the gift, the gift of humility.
He has what people expect,
He rises you up from your seat,
everybody stands up and is excited.
Fallen from heaven, he is always guarded
by angels that are drawing
paths that breakthrough to genius
towards eternity.
It’s like watching gods play,
all the crowd rises.
I see the magic in front of me!
He is faster than a lightning.
He is the greatest little one!
I could never imagine, no, no
to be lucky enough to watch
the warrior that is forged
once every hundred years.
He is the greatest little one!
Fallen from heaven, he is always guarded
by angels that are drawing
paths that breakthrough to genius
towards eternity.
It’s like watching gods play,
all the crowd rises.
I see the magic in front of me!
He is faster than a lightning.
He is the greatest little one!
Song “La simfonia perfecta”
Translation:
In a few years ago will remember that time in a country:
There was a group of people touching the sky,
while others barked at the moon,
while others were full of bitterness.
Songs that struck you one day many years ago
a man in charge had guided them with his hand
dancing with the first touch on the pitch,
creating the most perfect symphony.
Four wings shouted from the rooftops
Up to be the best, brave fighters! Up, big dreamers!
That we are in times of exploits and deeds,
creating the perfect symphony.
In a few years we can say that some time in a country
to sow good values around the world
while others bark at the moon,
while others drown in bitterness.
Songs that struck you one day many years ago
a man in charge had guided them with his hand
dancing with the first touch on the pitch,
creating the most perfect symphony.
In the end only winners are remembered,
a wise and visionary who was the first of all.
It was he who led the way to glory
therefore survive in memory,
creating the most perfect symphony,
dancing on the pitch with the first touch.
That we are in times of exploits and deeds,
creating the perfect symphony.

OT: PEP HAS MET WITH THE CLUBS HIGHEST SPORTING DIRECTORS. POSSIBLY TO DISCUSS A LAST MINUTE TRANSFER/LOAN? SOURCE: SPORT
So BEAST
The league is NOT GONE!! Let me tell you what a true fan is.
- A true fan never gives up and believes even when they call you blind and everything seems hopeless.
- A true fan will support the values of the club, being so, never disrespect the opposition.
- A true fan supports the club even if it loses 10-0 to the rival and relegates.
- A true fan will always find reasons to believe in the impossible.
- A true fan ABSOLUTELY NEVER gives up when there is half a season to go.
Now heres what a not so true fan does.
- Gives up immidietly when things get harder and harder to achieve.
- Stands up for the club when the bragging rights disappear.
- Switches favorite clubs when team is relegated.
- Doesn't give a damn about the values and always disrespects the opposition even when they have done nothing.
- Accuses the poor referree no matter they always do their best.
- Doesn't have believe in players that are not superstars like Pinto, Adriano…
- Bashes them and demands the club to sell them or not play them.
I hope this message made you think.
so true
bullshit
I love you
Vamoooooos Barcaaaaa!
my first reaction was "duh," but then it occurred to me that unfortunately, some people need these reminders. and that, is pretty depressing.
Shouldn't this be obvious?
- Stands up for the club when the bragging rights disappear.
And how does this belong in your "Things that a not-so-true fan does"? Isn't it honorable of someone when they support someone/something even if they are in dark times?
@ Problem; Lol, had seen that one too.. Let the young one have his moment….He loves preaching to the Choir.;)
It is very obvious, but as you have seen in the previous posts, some people don't get it
I'm just trying to make people believe because if they don't believe the team will lose belief too.
- Gives up immidietly when things get harder and harder to achieve. -> Agreed fur sure!
- A true fan will support the values of the club, being so, never disrespect the opposition. -> Even with the case of Pepe and Ramos?
And being a motion picture fan of myself, mentioning of Steven Spielberg for me, is loosing lots of credit. I know it a personal preference but really?
Did Barca staff disrespect Ramos or Pepe? No, so I won't either.
Agree with Nova alot.
He likes Barca and Led Zepp and he dedicated the song to Messi ! What a great guy !
Kind of surprise there isn't any news on TB about Dongou's B team debut.
I feel exactly the same feelings when I see Barca playing. A symphony in progress, an art form; with Messi's childish attitude of playing football for fun, scoring goals for fun and running like a rat between "great" defenders. All for fun. Goals are just a byproduct. He doesn't care about those awards. Everyone is so selfless. Have we ever seen anyone in the team selfishly trying to score a goal when he had an easy pass? He is so right about Barca – it isn't a team of eleven individuals. It is more than a football club.
OT ; Best Rumour I have read in a long time…. really hope it turns out to be true. Pepe to be swapped for David Luiz .
Awesome post! Thanks for this, Doris! What a lovely guy and ejoyed the songs too.
thanks:) I really like his songs, not only tohse about Barcelona
I still believe we can still WIN the league but player like Andraino and Pinto don't deserve to be in our team
thank for this! nice post
