and they have been historically reliable: they rarely print the ridiculous rumours, they source all of their information, and they typically have the correct lineups before the official FCB sources do. they were correct about pep stepping down, were a dependable source during the cesc saga, and for a period of time even rated transfer rumours on how feasible they were. obviously they don't employ the type of fact-checkers that actual newspapers have, but i'd rate them over AS, Marca, Sport, or MD.

No, you said "barcastuff has historically been reliable", which implies that they're doing more than just passing on news reported elsewhere – it implies that they have some independent way of determining whether a given report is true or not. Historically, I don't think they're any more reliable than anyone else when it comes to transfer rumors.

those who claim signing Neymar would be mistake are wrong but they still should state some reasons why they think so. Neymar is becoming a true world beater, you cant deny his talent and very few players have been Brazil´s leading forward at his age. He can clearly become the best player in the world one day and he would form a lethal duo with Messi, guys like them decide titles and games single- handedly. He is worth the price and something must be going on coz other teams arent trying to sign him anymore, even RM seems to have accepted that he will join Barca. Thats why Barca must sign a top CB now coz next year the team will spend the whole transfer budget on one certain player

That's basically what I remember hearing, some kind of "deposit" has been paid and it's to be decided when Neymar moves (after the 2014 WC being the latest date though personally I could see it happening in summer 2013 depending on Villa's season/decisions on his future at the club)

@barcastuff has historically been reliable, but they've reported several versions of this neymar deal which means they either have a very well-placed source or they're just repeating every bit of hearsay they acquire about him. as an aside: if it's true, this is one of the strangest deals i've seen in ten years of following football.

anyhow, neither santos nor barcelona have made an official press release, and the only other sources that can offer real confirmation are neymar's entourage, who also haven't said a word. javi martinez, afaik, is barcelona's primary target for now

David Villa has been one of the best strikes in La Liga over the last decade. he has been so consistent when it comes to scoring goals. when he was at valencia, he was scoring 20+ goals a season regularly. it is a shame we got him at a late stage of his career because we had eto'o for a lot of years who was very good too.

From what I heard on the TV news last year just prior to club world cup championship, Barca and Santos came to pre agreement to transfer Neymar to Barca in the summer of 2013. According to the news source, Barcelona were claiming that he wasn't ready to play at the highest level in Europe just yet and Barca wanted him to develop in South America for another year. Apparently Barcelona paid €15M as a pre agreement!! but I only saw this on the news, I don't have any source and I do believe Neymar will be playing for Barcelona next season
