Match Highlights: Belarus 0-4 Spain
On a cold night in Minsk, Pedro was hitting a hot form, taking part in all four goals from Spain. Everything went the right way for the Spanish, who so far have collected 2 wins, on par with number 2 positioned France in UEFA Group I of World Cup 2014 qualifiers.
Alba’s goal was offside, but it must have been because Pedro’s touch was so delicate that the linesman thought it was a straight through pass from Xavi. Busquets, Alba, Xavi, Fabregas, and Pedro started for Spain, while Iniesta was used as a substitute in the second half.
Fabregas notched only one assist playing as the false 9 but his work rate in front must be commended. His presence meant that Pedro could run in channels created between Belarus’s back four and Pedro flourished because of that.
In the end, former Barcelona player Aliaksandr Hleb -who had Gleb as his name on his jersey- was seen shaking hands with Busquets and other Barcelona players, perhaps a bittersweet reminder of Hleb’s past at FC Barcelona.
