    King ABI!!!!

    • Eric_Castel says:

That was the first of Abi in his career??? Wiki has is blacked-out and I cannot testify it.

      Visca el Barca!!!

    • FCB die hard fans says:

i wonder since when did iniesta played left wing?? didnt he was center midfielder.. didnt he.. he looked uncomfortable with that position

      • Eric_Castel says:

He used to play for the La Roja(Spain National Team) in that position, just take a look at the World Cup matches ;)

      • LKC says:

He also played in the LW position when Henry used to sit out injured back in the day…

Perhaps you may want to change your name to FCB "recently" die hard fans. Not that theres anything wrong with new barca fans of course :)

      • GeorgesK says:

what the above people said… and i would also like to add that i don't think he looked uncomfortable at all. Xavi always knew where Iniesta would be up there and he was dangerous as hell. his finishing from tight angles may be lacking (he's better at firing cannon balls from just outside the box) but that's normal because he is not a striker. in any case, i think his job was to tiki-taka his way down the flank and find alexis or cesc as opposed to go for goal himself but the RM CBs were usually well positioned to intercept the pass so he had to try his luck with shooting. anyway, i think overall he had an excellent game and if Team weren't an option i would have voted for him or Alexis (amazing workrate!!!) for MoM

      • jacobmu says:

He has played a great deal on the left wing and is exceptional in that position. Although his final touch was a bit off, he was dangerous there all night and when a player like Iniesta is wide, the opposition has to respect it and that creates gaps for everyone else. Also, don't forget that he won the corner on Puyi's goal.

  2. FootballingMind says:

The one, the only, the KING! :D

  3. vonbelle94 says:

This was a great game… THE KING HAS CONQUERED!!!!

  4. Joker says:

    SERGIOOOOOO BUSQUETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. vonbelle94 says:

BUSQUETSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FOR MAN OF THE MATCH!!!!

  6. VarunMe says:

Abi got the goal so i suppose he should be the MoM, Busquests did well as well, kept the midfield calm under pressing and running as smoothly as possible.

  7. Swati.. says:

i just dont understand why is messi being played so deep in midfield.. he just wasnt himself in the game..
sorry to say it but pep is destroying his wonderful goal scoring record in the clasicos.. hope he gets a hattrick at camp nou

    • Mango says:

if he plays Messi higher up, his effectiveness is lowered even more so as he has Carvalho/Pepe hacking at him the moment he gets the ball. Playing that deep means they have to expose the backline to mark him, and when he gets possession of the ball he has space to attack the ball

      • FCB die hard fans says:

        great analyze man.

      • GeorgesK says:

Exactly. It's like a game of chess, sacrifice one piece to put your other pieces into more dangerous positions. Pep is a genius.

      • jacobmu says:

Also, they had to sacrifice Ozil to put Pepe in the midfield in order to cover Messi. Continuing with the chess analogy…playing Messi deeper forced mou to sacrifice his queen for a pawn.

    • david says:

messi was bad in the last 3 games/….. i cant figure out why….what going on with the best player in history?

      • Claudio says:

Messi played bad? Did you see the assist? Are you a moron who thinks you only play football well when you score? Go to goal.com if you want to post rubbish.

    • FCB die hard fans says:

are u is RM fans.. dont mess around here.. will you

    • jacobmu says:

there is much more to football than scoring goals. If Messi is deeper, that gives Alexis the freedom to run free up top and Messi is able to find him or combine with other players to create scoring chances for his teammates. Also, it forces Madrid to either constantly drag their defenders out of position or do something foolish like play Pepe in the midfield to stop him. The threat of Messi playing deeper caused mou to sit Ozil-a truly spectacular player-in order to put Pepe in the midfield to prevent his cbs from constantly being dragged out of position. It's a credit to Messi that he is so willing to sacrifice individual stats in order to do what is best for the team.

      • ngocketit says:

Can't agree more with you. We don't need Messi to score every match. The important thing is when the team need him, he gives his voice with an extraordinary game winning assist.

    • swati says:

i guess i have got u all and understand the true strategy..
but i am a big messi fan (not bigger than barca's of course) and i love to see him scoring goals especially against madrid..

  8. kokobarca says:

Well I voted Puyol, but everyone had a great game. Let's hope Pinto doesn't cost us points or games in the future.

  9. Jamal102 says:

Barcelona are the first team in history not to lose any of 7 consecutive away games against Real Madrid #fcblive [via @2010misterchip]

    Mourinho's team never lost a home game after 1-0 lead at half-time #fcblive #elclasico 68W – 6D – 0L [via @2010misterchip] (Except for now hahaha)

Tw Rooney (Man United): "Pepe. What an idiot. Sometimes people wind u up." #fcblive #elclasico [@waynerooney]

  10. Blaugrana says:

Puyol and King Eric. Not only because of their goals but they played very well in the whole match. Sergio was also crucial in keeping the balance.
Pinto looked bad at the 1-0.

  11. Anna_Vito says:

i voted for team because i am really proud of our players. not just because they own this white team time and time again, but also because they are respectable athletes and human beings, and also because it is pep's birthday. aaaand because today's win ties us with madrid in our all time encounters. we were always trailing behind them because they had these great runs in the 14th century (which the merengues still can't get over), but this great team has caught up with them. if we take the win in the next game, we will be in front!! proud of this team because all of them make me smile, the way they play, the way they behave and the way they inspire. visca barca!!!!!!

PS: pepe is a psychopath. and so is coentrao for that matter. pf, disgusting

  12. Hossam says:

Messi's assist was the match point for me

    Cr7 scores and sleep :D

  13. Tank says:

I voted for Xavi because, in so many ways, he is the center of everything that was good about us this evening. However, thinking about it again, the team possibly should have gotten the vote.
A great night (or whatever time of the day it is where you are) for every Barca supporter! Now let's crush them at the Camp Nou.
p.s.: Pepe is a shame for football. Simple as that. Looking at Casillas' face when he congratulated our players after the game, I could not help but see embarrassment about some of his team mates in the way he looked.

  14. December says:

Because pep was plan to score with defender

  15. Barcafan-bangladesh says:

    King Abidal the Great
Sort of OT- check out this comment from a random madridista from a pro-madrid blog..-Pepe was a thug today, absolutly disgusting player, to step on Messi's hand like that and the awful disgusting dive before. The rest played like thugs too. Only Ozil, Benzema, CR, Carvalio, Casillias, Altintop deserve respect.

  16. barcafanir says:

Can totalbarca produce a petition to UEFA, FIFA, Spanish Football Federation to ban Pepe for life?
If I would address this to UEFA, I would ask UEFA to ban Spanish referees from all international games for lack of professional skills! Let's stop being annoyed and let's do something about it, because Rosell obviously doesn't have balls to do it.

  17. david says:

Busquets for me!! he was amazing !! abi also was gread and pique and alexis

  18. RFEF a joke says:

F*** RFEF and their referees… sorry but i' really really angry

    • RFEF a joke says:

Madrid didn't destroy the beautiful game.. the referee did. if he had correctly given yellow cards to Pepe for simulation, and to Carvalho for bad tackle, then all this dirtiness can be avoided. how many more times are the RFEF referees going to wrongly call Barca offside? im sick of RFEF

  19. Tommy jayr says:

Abidal. Kept chissy quiet in the 2nd half, gotforward well and chippedin with a trap busting goal. Hail the king!

  20. david says:

pinto?! 1 shot to him 1 goal ! Valdes would stop it for sure

    • jacobmu says:

Thats not the point. Pep's loyalty to his players is what makes us so much greater than Madrid. Pep is willing to stick with his philosophy and that includes ensuring that all members of the squad feel valued and part of the team. That is why so many of our youth turn down premier league deals because they know that their efforts and loyalty will be rewarded. It is a tribute to Pep that he is willing to stick with Pinto in such matches.

  21. cruyffish says:

Abidal! For alot more than just the great winning goal. Made more key interceptions during the first-half onslaught than anyone else. Awesome performance. Puyol/Sergio for the close second.

  22. InIesta_92 says:

Barca were dominant, madrid were dirty, anyone surprised ???

    KING ABI!!!

  23. Pino says:

The whole team played superb! I love Barca, we humiliated Madrid

  24. Daddy says:

Madrid need to restore their pride. It should start with deporting Pepe. Might as well put all the Portuguese in the list!

  25. Daddy says:

Madrid need to restore their pride. It should start with deporting Pepe. Might as well put all the Portuguese in the list!

On the other note, I am really proud of our boys, especially Iniesta – he is always so calm!

  26. boboho says:

messi's assist is assist of the season!! it fooled all of Madrid's defenders!!!

  27. Barcelona4ever says:

madrid is such a dirty team, they should wear brown as their home kit..
    Great assist by messi.
Congrats 300 game, and its Guardiola birthday..

  28. ySchaub says:

    THE FUCKING TEAM! TEAM WIN!

  29. Sydney's Omar says:

In my opinion it should be Alexis… he single handedly outmuscled the entire madrid defense and all of his markers.. almost equalised through a superb header and fought so damn hard in both attack and defense. He is a true warrior, and he never acts and he gave it good to madrid.

But I must say that Busquets played superbly as well, he was literally everywhere. Not happy with Fabregas, lost more balls than successful passes, and Iniesta looked so alone on the left, he should have played playmaker alongside Xavi and Fabregas upfront alternating with Alexis… but after all who am I to call it when we have the Godfather, Don Guardiola!!!

  30. barcafanir says:

I am quite amazed with points made here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1029981-barcel
Barcelona vs. Real Madrid: Real Madrid Prove to Be an Absolute Disgrace!!!!!!

  31. bender says:

    MOTM PEP HAPPY BIRTHDAY

  32. bob says:

Pepe should never be allowed to play professional football ever again.

Time and again he has proven, that he is unfit to be a fair sportsman and instead has brutally attacked opponents. Such behaviour should no longer be seen on the football pitch.
So I am asking UEFA, FIFA and Real to please kick Pepe out once and for all!

  33. XavierHernandezCREUS says:

PEP TRIED A NEW FANTASY. WE ALWAYS BEAT MADRID WITH EQUAL SIZED SQUADS.
HE WONDERED EVEN IF OUR GOAL IS EMPTY, CAN WE WIN AGAINST MADRID AGAIN?

I HATE YOU PINTO, THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE PLAYING IN OUR TEAM IS YOUR FRIENDSHIP WITH MESSI!

    RETIRE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

THE ONLY MISTAKE THAT PEP MAKES IS YOU!

  34. hargyono says:

Alhamdulillah (thanks to God) we humiliate mou, again!!! …………ERIC ABIDAL, no doubt.

  35. Mony says:

I liked Alexis, he worked really hard, so it's between him and Puyol for me. I can't say the team because there were some below par performances. Alves was poor, needs to know that he should be defending Ronaldo more than always going up the field, he was out of place a few times which could have cost us more.

Busquets although definitely not as bad as pepe had a few theatrics. BTW Pepe is a disgrace.

I loved the fight back from this team. Messi and Iniesta weren't at their best, and neither was Xavi but they never gave up and continued to work hard.

I don't know how Messi is able to stay calm when those idiots kept kicking him or stomping hsi hand or pushing down his head. Really remarkable to not lose his temper.

Yay for the 2 unlikely scorers.

  36. @baonerges says:

many of our players have played well recently, but only iniesta played at his glittering best these past two matches. he's an absolute sorcerer with the ball

  37. kevo says:

Pep said that Alexis played excellent, would like to see a video of him during this match!
    grande alexis!!!

  38. Zizo says:

    Sergio Busquets, what a game!!

  39. Dimitar_MKD says:

Man of the match between Puyol, Abidal and Alexis! What a hard worker is Alexis. Beast! Puyol and Abidal play excellent in defense without any mistake. Iniesta had bad game. All in all good team work and great result. Visca Barcelona!

  40. alexis says:

Maybe its time to feature a defender on the MOTM. But to be frank with or without goals ALEXIS was the best player on the pitch, would have starred if he scored and had good finishes of his ball from Messi and Andres, 4ck PEPE AND CARVALHO. “Alexis play made me fall in love, he is a perfect signing”. But overall i want the winner as TEAM or PEP

  41. i1012 says:

i dont know about you guys but i vote for cesc. he made couple of brilliant passes to the penalty box, a chip to iniesta, and when he did that, i said to myself he is worth all the price tag. it is true when you play for the team you love, you are willing to do anything and do your best.. thats what all barca players do! i vote for cesc, but alexis was excellent today. he kept creating spaces for others and thats awesome.

  42. HussainSaihat says:

    Busquets is the MOTM
He was definitely the best today. He didn't miss any (literally any) pass. He dominated the whole mid-field with simple passes and moves

    Love Busquets

  43. kevo says:

mmmm Im actually a bit terrified of Athletic Bilbao. IF we go thru the finals, i'd rather have another opponent than them.

    • jacobmu says:

They would be difficult, but that would be a cracking final…there is nothing I would rather see. However, they are my 2nd favorite team in Spain and if we were to lose, there would be no shame in losing to Bielsa and a team with such a magnificent history

  44. MVP says:

    KING ERIC!

  45. SaeedSal says:

    for me is ALEXIS
hard work, non-stop running an if he was more lucky and score a goal, then everyone agree with me

  46. GhassanCule says:

It's the TEAM and only the team !

    Visca El Barca

  47. @SaSaboome says:

beyond dispute mom was the team

  48. ngocketit says:

    It's definitely the team and tiki-taka ;)
