When Hans Gamper, known in Barcelona as Joan, moved to the Catalan capital in 1898 for business reasons he missed football a lot. Because there was not a single football team in the city at that time, he decided to create his own. The first step in the creation of the club was a note placed in a local sports magazine calling for players. On the 29th of November in 1899, he presided over the first club meeting at the Gimnas Sole. Eleven players attended the event: Walter Wild (the first director of the club), Lluís d’Ossó, Bartomeu Terradas, Otto Kunzle, Otto Maier, Enric Ducal, Pere Cabot, Carles Pujol, Josep Llobet, John Parsons, and William Parsons. This day is remembered in history as the beginning of Futbol Club Barcelona.
We want to wish a happy day to all cules around the world and all the best to our beloved club.
