Spanish daily Sport reported yesterday that French club Paris Saint-Germain could be interested in the services of FC Barcelona left-back defender Maxwell (30) while in another report in AS, FC Barcelona have showed interest in Sporting Lisbon right-back Joao Pereira, who is being followed by several European clubs.

Maxwell has started only 5 games in the current season. With the negotiations for Eric Abidal’s contract renewal moving positively, and Barcelona’s interest in Valencia left-back Jordi Alba, Maxwell might have to move to pastures anew for regular playing time. Paris Saint-Germain seem to be interested in signing the experienced defender in the upcoming summer with a view to bolster the left side of their defense. Other clubs which may be interested in Maxwell are AC Milan and Benfica.

In other news, FC Barcelona have supposedly joined the list of European clubs, which include Villarreal, AC Milan, PSG and Schalke, interested in Sporting Lisbon right-back and Portugal international Joao Pereira. With the contract renewal of Barcelona B player Martin Montoya still under progress, this transfer rumour looks very unlikely to be concrete.
