FC Anzhi Makhachkala mega-offer for Alves?

FC Anzhi Makhachkala mega-offer for Alves?

It appears that rich Russian club FC Anzhi Makhachkala are not content securing the services of former Barcelona player Samuel Eto’o. If a report in Catalan publication Sport is to be believed, the club is now eyeing FC Barcelona right back Daniel Alves. And the sum that they are willing to part with for one of the most influential players in Guardiola’s squad is 35 to 40 million euros. Also, Alves is reportedly being tempted with a salary of 15 million euros, higher than that of Messi’s, to pack his bags and join Roberto Carlos, the club’s captain, and Russian midfielder Yuri Zhirkov to play for the club in Makhachkala, capital of the Republic of Dagestan. Interestingly, the club’s players live and train in the Moscow region and fly in for home matches.

But before cules start panicking about the departure of Alves to the cold environs, they should know that sources close to Alves have said that the Brazilian is not keen to play in the Russian Premier League and is not lured by the hefty pay package. Sport explains that the player is content at Barca, “where he feels valued,” and also believes at this point in his career money is not the priority. Also, the 27-year-old player renewed his contract with the Catalan club this March which will see him tied to Barcelona till June 2015.

Joining the ranks of Manchester City and Paris St Germain, the Russian side has seen its economic fortunes go sky high after it was purchased by a wealthy businessman. In this case, billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, who ranks 118th in richest people in the world with a turnover of 7.8 billion dollars, is the owner.

  1. Mercury_FCB says:

    Nonsense.

  2. Hallu says:

we paid almost 40m euros for him. so no way. wouldn't sell him for less than 70m. and only if he wants to be sold.

  3. Copaloca says:

    NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
I hope this isn't true. He has a spirit and heart of Barca. And he is in the hearts of Barca's fans.

  4. Jules_the_Cules says:

    Tell them to pi55 off!!

  5. Adda says:

It’s better to sell Afellay now as he won’t get playing time, which won’t do good to his career. Sell now otherwise his price may drop next summer.

    • Barca!!! says:

Affelay should go! No place in the midfield, No place upfront! He should join Juventus! They are willing to pay 8-10 million euro. Affelay did good, in his first season. Assist against Madrid for exampel. But know we have Sanchez + Thiago and Fabregas all well ahead of him.. Tottenham would also be great club for him!

      • MegaNo28 says:

right now, Afellay will be used to rest messi, don't be surprised if you see it happening. He was put into messi's false nine role last season and he tore teams up. Besides you guys act like these people are above afellay in the pecking order. A name does not guarantee this, whoever starts will start because they are the best option AND have been working exceptionally well in the training

        • Chuvodka says:

Nicely said ppl think afellay is not barca worthy but he’s going to save our ass this just like he did against madrid

        • john doe says:

OMG, I think "adda" and "barca!!!" must be some kind of trolls, just trying to write crap on a barca forum site to make cules angry. otherwise, why would you write such nonsense guys????

      • Adda says:

He would be the best person to replace Modric, if he goes to Chelsea.

      • Deborita says:

Just like i said in some other topics here. EVERYONE can play and will play. We have over 60 games this season and our basic eleven can't play every match. Before the important games Pep always let the impotant people rest. So Afellay can play even Thiago, Cesc, Keita, Masch, Sanchez etc. They will play enough this season.

      • Barcaholic says:

You have no idea of football guy. Have you seen Afellay in pre-season? He was awesome until his injury. He was a constant danger for the opposite defense and will be a supersub for us in this season and sometimes a starter. I'm sure if he performs like in pre-season he will definitely be a very good option in offensive midfield or on the wings. And btw: He is here for only 6 monts!

      • DiezMilEquizz says:

Selling Afellay without letting him develop would be a mistake. Remember he was the captain at PSV. When he plays he performs.

      • kevo says:

I think Pep made it clear that we need forwards, that's why we ppurchased Alexis. I dont see why would we sell Afellay, for what? To go over again the dreadful process of finding a player who's compatible with the rest. It took this much to get Alexis, i dont think the board will want to rush.

B¥ the way, IBi and Alexis together?!??! that's going to be a fast fast fast fast forward line

        • LaneCruiser says:

I kind of imagine Ibi as a Messi sub (and sometimes starter to let Messi rest), with Alexis cutting in from the wings.

  6. Fan says:

No way alves will leave. He still has years of top level football left and has the lure of trophies to keep him at barca. He still has plenty to teach montoya lol. He is now the undisputed best right back in the world, and with years left on his contract a sum of 60 mil or less wont get him out of barca. And plus, defense is our thinnest area, so it wud be suicide to sell a defender. Rossell aint stupid

  7. Bob says:

    1. Why would Alves want to leave? I am sure he earns enough money with his improved contract.
    2. Who could we sign to replace him for 40 million? Nobody, that's who.

  8. barca4eva says:

two words: BACK OFF…alves is the best right back for barca right now i would hate to see him leave

  9. chillax. Alves said he is not interested.

  10. Pique_Power says:

For €40M they will only get Pinto if they want.

  11. Write_theFuture says:

If Alves leaves now to a small club for money he would be incredibly stupid. He is at the best team in the world, averaging like 3 trophies a year, has a good chance of winning back to back CLs, is with many great players and great friends, is an MVP even here in the best club in the world, and will go down in history as part of this legendary club. Not to mention he is payed freaking millions each year – its not like he and his family will ever go hungry LOL. If he was to trade all this for a few more millions per year, that would just make sense. Plus if he goes there he can probably kiss his starting spot on the Brazil NT goodbye.

Luckily Alves is not stupid. I know he won't go, this is BS. This Russian club doesn't seem to know what to do with their money, as if it is run by someone who only vaguely knows football and is just trying to sign the best players for each position.

  12. PeaceLoveBarca says:

I hate it when a club thinks that they can buy their way to "success"…Anyway, I highly doubt that he will leave. This is nonsense.

  13. ChrisKamara says:

The best right back in the world in the best team in the world won't leave for some unknown Russian team for just money, he's a multi-millionaire at this stage. And I don't understand why Eto'o left to go there too, excluding the fact he'll be on 300k p/WEEK!. Isn't racism supposed to be a huge issue in Russia? I just pray he doesn't get abused there.

    • john the smart guy says:

      I think Eto'o left because

      - he knows Inter are crap and won't do shit next season
      - yeah, the 300k per week ftw
      - he is towards the end of his career?
      - could make some fireworks in Russia and thus in an unexpected way seal his place as one of the BEST forwards of all time

Hope it works for him. I don't see Anzhi getting close to winning the Russian league, there are many other strong teams (Rubin Kazan, CSKA Moscow, Zenith St. Petersburg……etc.)

    • Mwakka says:

Please, don't talk about Eto'o like that. As a cule, we all know that Eto'o puts 101% to every match. Even at Inter, he gave it his all. Inter also doesn't want Eto'o has they plan on rebuilding the whole squad. Give Eto'o a break. For 10 years, he's been sweating his behind off giving his all to whichever team he played in. He's the greatest African striker. They guy could use a few more millions as his career comes to an end.

  14. HerozVillin says:

Y would Alves want to disappear. Highly unlikely. Talk about a rumor.

  15. Linda says:

Who would ever want to train in Moscow… writing it makes me feel cold..;)

  16. iličič72 says:

South American pleyers wont go to the cold Russia if they can be in warm Spain.

  17. josh says:

juve bid 8 million euros for afellay

    • john the smart guy says:

hahaha, they could try again, Adding a ZERO after the "8"………………………..

  18. xavier hernandez says:

I firmly believe that Alves never leaves Barça for money!
He is one of the irreplacable players in this system and it would be a loss both for him and us.

However I strongly recommend Pinto for Anzhi and even 1 million euro is enough in order to get rid of him and his hairs!

  19. Nedoxx says:

1-Before reaching an accord with the player without reaching his buyout clause price which is 90 millions is meaningless cause barca wont let him go .

2-Playin in an unknown team in Russia wont get him a regular place in Brazil WC squad .

3-Leavin all those trophies and fam he can get playin with his friends at FCB makin history to go living with his family in an average temperature -5.5 C and get abused by some foolish racists . Does that make sense ?

    • Gladys says:

I gotta say it sounds pretty depressing going to play for some oligarch's team in a fairly dangerous region (next to Chechnya) where you don't speak the language and have to train and live in Moscow. Why would anyone who's not from that part of the world choose to play there? I know it's big money, but don't these guys have enough money? Can't believe Eto'o's going there.

  20. mohammad zakim says:

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! money is nothing right now for alves. dont ruin ur career dear alves by going to moscow. u are the heart of barcelona. and without u no one can ever full u place, so dont dispoint us; hey guys lets pray for wining the game against napolie.

  21. Nicholas Gaffney says:

Can anyone tell me what time the Napoli game is on? For some reason the next match thing in the top corner doesn't show up

  22. trinibarca.4.life says:

barca should only consider if they are getting 100 million…we can sell him and buy lahm

alves is the best right back in the world and key for barca…its 100 million or nothing

  23. trinibarca.4.life says:

sorry…alves buyout is 90 million…my bad….90 million or nothing Anzhi

  24. DiezMilEquizz says:

    Just a thought,

Barcelona is very proud of La Masia. They brag about the current talented group, and with reason, names like Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pique, Fabregas. Dani Alves is not a product from La Masia. A possibility is that the Barca decides to raise the price on Dani, for this reason. Barcelona can gamble and see how much Makhachkala's owner is willing to pay in an attempt to get extra income to handle the current economic situation and at the same time taking a step to having a team of only Catalans, despite the role that Dani plays.

Again, its only a thought, because Barcelona's contract with Dani Alves would be the main barrier, not to mention it seems Pep likes Dani. But then again, we witnessed Rosell sacrificing the tradition of not having a sponsor, there was a time that we all thought it would never happen, but somehow we continued supporting the team.

  25. soldout2barca says:

Try a 100million. then i'll know u know his worth. Busters!!!

  26. ln50505 says:

selling alves is Not an option. The best right back in the world remains in the best team in the world.

  27. Willey says:

We bought Dani for 40 mil Euros why would we sell him for 35-40? haha ……There is nooooo waaay he leaves for that offer. Anyway Dani is irreplacebale at Barca

  28. hamad_ali says:

extremely OT : how many points did Bojan play last season ?

  29. Anna_Vito says:

this is ridiculous!!! it's so stupid from these billionaires to think that just because they CAN buy everyone, they can win titles. Ok, I understand if a team like chelsea gets bought, that had a strong and stable system way before abramovich. But one of the weakest teams on one of the weakest leagues is just silliness. Proves that these people have so much money and absolutely zero idea about football. the fact that they train in moscow is obvious, mahachkala is in the middle of no where, whereas moscow offers the party life with tons of luxury. i find it detrimental to the players, and a complete waste of time. eto's level is top european leagues, he will soon get bored and complacent, and that is no good for him. i feel like kerimov is just doing this as a question of pride, and not because he is a big football fan/expert. sooner or later he'll get bored with it.

  30. alucard41 says:

wow so et’o was sold?? i thought he wanted to contend for the champs league??

  31. Chuvodka says:

Eto best fuking player won 3 champions with class hard work he deserves how ever much there him but he should be careful over there…
