Xavi returns to Barcelona from national team
Xavi Hernandez will return this afternoon to Barcelona after being examined by the doctors of the Spanish national team. Xavi is having trouble with the soleus muscle (calf) of his right leg.
In the end Xavi will not be playing against Italy with Spain on Wednesday. The midfielder traveled to Madrid this morning to the training grounds of the Spanish national team in Las Rozas with a medical report from FC Barcelona which detailed the player’s injury. Xavi was then evaluated by the national team’s physicians who have determined the player should be left out of the squad disputing the friendly match in Bari.
This week Xavi will do specific work to recover from this injury. His progress will determine his availability for the upcoming matches.
