Video: Deulofeu scores in Spain U-19 5-0 victory
Yesterday, Spain sealed their place in the Under-19 European Championship Final with a 5-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland. FC Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu scored the first goal and was an integral part of Juanmi’s goal (the 3rd on the night), with captain Pablo Sarabia scoring the 2nd goal and Morata grabbing two late in the match. The Final will be on Monday at 19:00 CET, with Spain facing the Czech Republic. Full highlights can be found after the jump.
Gerard Deulofeu was on the pitch for 80 minutes, and Barcelona defender Sergi Gómez played the entire match. Ireland defender Derrick Williams noted after the match that “their No17 [Gerard] Deulofeu was unbelievable with his pace and his tricks.”
Gómez also spoke to UEFA’s official site after the game, explaining the good atmosphere of the team: “I’ve always said that this group is very united; we’ve been together for years now. We all originally got together playing for the U16s. We are more than just a group; we are a family. Outside the football scene we call each other and meet up. You can see that closeness out on the pitch and in the joyful nature with which we play.”

he looks like our future LF
Bring him up to 1st team as well… He has great potential and won't require 40M to be with 1st team.
We don't want another Bojan, do we…
He has more explosiveness than Bojan and his versatility is what Barca needs. He as very good in case you missed the game go watch youtube videos.
Bojan was also great at 17 but got promoted way too early…
Agreed, I wonder how much better Bojan woulda been had we been patient in promoting him/making him #9…
I only watch the 1st half and from what I saw, Deulofeu was the best man on the pitch!!
And I suppose he's one of the youngest players on the Spain U19 squad?
I wonder why Rafinha isn't with them, he would also do well.. in my opinion!!
Sergi Gomez also played well.. same goes for Madrid's Sarbia and Morata (great talents)!!
Both Rafinha and Espinosa were called up too, but were dropped from the squad because of injuries.
Found the details: Javi Espinosa had been experiencing muscle issues prior to his call-up, while it seems Rafa suffered a muscle tear while training with his Spain U-19 teammates in Madrid.
@ Amanda
The under-20 world cup in Colombia is under way, I was just wondering if TB is going to have live stream for the Spanish games????
I am looking forward to seeing Marc Bartra Oriol Romeu and Sergi Roberto.
Thank you in advance.
Ok that explain's it!!
Would have been ridiculous if they weren't called up!!
Rafa got injured. Gerard is the youngest player in the starting lineup for Spain and the 3rd youngest in the squad
Actually, Deulofeu is the youngest in the squad. He is the only one born 1994. The rest are born 92 with a few exceptions with players born 93.
Sarabia is a great talent. Madrid have already given him to Getafe, but that doesn't really mean anything, as Getafe is just their second B team, and if a player is good enough there, Mourinho will take him back. Still, I feel sorry for him because I don't see him getting any minutes ever with Madrid, and I know for sure that he would be getting chances with Pep Guardiola. Maybe Barcelona should buy him :p?
i agree with you Pablo Sarabia has alot of potential, i don't know about Barca buying him, but for me he has been Spain's best player by far in this championship.
Yeah I think he has. He is a bit like Canales. Canales was extremely talented just a year ago, but he never got a single look in with Mourinho. So I guess it is better than Sarabia went to Getafe, so that he can get playing time. He is one of the best to come out of Madrid's youth in a while.
Would Espinosa be a starter if he was available? Would Rafinha?
Definitely, Espinosa and Rafa are the finest talents in this age group alongside Deulofeu and Sarabia!!!
hahah it could be very fun IF barca buyed him
just imagine the real madrid if sarabia scored against them in the ''el clasicio''..
by the way, i'm not saying they SHOULd buy him, but it could be fun
****Just imagine the real madrid FANS**
you and you and you can shy….barca doesnt need bull shits of madrid…..
BARCA = LA MASIA…….there are the best players like messi, xavi, iniesta, puyol………
everyone say that barca doesnt need fabregas…because there is THIAGO…..
and now sarabia ….why?
because…1 good match was played by him————————no way
no thanks. I don't think I can ever trust a RM cantera especially one born and raised in madrid. It wouldn't be believable when they say "Visca Barca y Visca Cataluyna"
very good to see Deulefeu having more success – AND he's still only 17… Amazing!!!… One wonders why Real Madrid sold Sarabia, but guess they will buy him back (well knowing they have a buy-back option)
Catalan CR ?
No thanks. I don't want a Catalan version of that selfish, diving, prima donna.
He remind me more of Cruyff actually…
Much Better/
Much Better than Cruijff ?
You guys are overhyping him. Don't get me wrong I reeeaaaallllyyyyyy like him he's a super talent but although he had a pretty good 1st half, in second in my opinion was pretty much the worst… The kid is good but lacks a bit of pace…he isn't fast enough, and his vision and passing is really poor…he lost so many possession due to that factor, he dosen't help in the defensive duty…he just waits for the ball to get to him instead of trying to get it himself
But I hope…no…I know those little bugs will be fixed when he grow up and develop a bit of experience
Ps: my judgement is based on numerous games of him…not just one
Were do U watch these numerous games??? I'm never able to watch Barca Juvenil games..
I only watched him play for Spain's youth teams a few times and once with Barca B!!
haha lacks pace? pace is his biggest asset, esp for a 17 year old.
Everything you said is the complete opposite, except for his defensive duties you are right about that. He doesn't play his defensive part of the game as much as he should. But he has alot of pace, and very good passing.
Lol what? The biggest thing he has IS pace. He is so fast, especially against players who are two years older than him, and at this young level two years makes a huge difference. The only flaws that could be concerning at this point are his not tracking back, he seems to be a little like Ronaldo, only active when he has the ball/his team does. He really needs to improve his work rate and play for the team. Besides that, he is a super talent. I suppose he can also learn when to dribble and when not to, but many young players have that problem at first too if they are good at dribbling. Anyway, he is really good, watch out for him.
Omg… Are you seriously thumping me Down?
You should not overhype every la masia talent we have… Did anyone read my comment?
When I said he lacks a bit of pace, all I meant is that he is iniesta fast not messi fast…he is after all a forward so he should be a BIT faster… You know what I mean?
I am looking as a future ballon d’or point of view not another good player point of view
And did anyone watch the game against Ireland? Well… Watch it and you should know what I meant about his passing being poor
But after all I always forget he is just 17 bcz he is immensely talented
Why do people complain about a thumbs down? Honestly, who cares? It's not even like you have an account that counts reputation points…
I think Deulofeu is very fast. Much faster than Iniesta. For a forward, he is more than fast enough. Fastest one on the team.
He does have pace. What he lacks is stamina, and that's because he's 17 and has never trained or played with the senior teams before. He's in Barca B this season, and has every chance to make the jump to the first team next season.
i wish i could play like them….
Thiago, Rafinha, and Deulofeu are the future of Barca! What a beauty of a goal!
muniesa, sergi gomez, sergi roberto, they all potential world class players.
montoya too
I wasn't writing them off… but these three are definetly going to make it big!
i watched whole the match. he is the real deal. morata and sarabia are good but deulofeu is something else. but he has a lot to learn, but he is only 17. his final ball can be poor at times.
how come rafinha or muniesa re not with either u19 or u20s?
Injuries.
So proud he's ours!
It's make me happy, as always, to see our young player show their talent and entertain the world. Glad to hear Gomez' words. Totally agree with him. Family, solidarity, brotherhood are the values for they who love football. And it's all means "mes que un team"
Hm, Barca's values spreading out to any football team in the world.
OT: Guys, i know this might not sit well with alot of you, but i was watching a clip on you tube of Barca squad taking a pic on the steps pf the White House and pique's attitude was over bearing. He clearly knew he is the tallest, he should have stood at the back so others could easily be seen. But he refused, i think the catalans and spanish players in Barca are given preferential treatment in the squad and it might be getting into their heads gradually. The same goes for xavi's comments about the cesc saga. I respect these guys a lot but i think they are beginning to feel big. We saw what happened in the rijkaard era with ronaldinho and eto'o. IF pep looses the locker room, the squad will come crashing down. I HOPE this never happens but measure have to be taken to prevent this.
PS: this is just my opinion and every one is entitiled to one.
The last thing that Pep will lose is the locker room…
I don't want him to loose it too, but it is not impossible. Bojan's case is an ideal example and the coming of sanchez and cesc could bring ts troubles. Will messi be willing to sit out some games if ronaldo is ahead in the pichichi to allow others play? wll villa or pedro be okay with afellay and sanchez starting sometimes? Am Not a prophet of doom am a loyal barca fan, but we have to be realistic about these issues. They may look minor and little but gradually it will mean alot. Will cesc be okay playing second fiddle to xavi and iniesta on the bench? Will catalans, barcelonistas( myself included) and Rosell be okay with seeing cesc on the bench after fighting over his signature and probably paying a lot for him?
You're right on some things…NOT everyone is as patient as mascherano or keita. This cesc deal may blow up in barca's face. I pray it works out well in the end though
u know Pique likes to be in the midst of things n everybody knows that. nobody would even bother about such a thing. this aint school u know
and about Xavi, he's just too straight from heart and that looks like his downside but we love him for who he is
what he says isn't disrespectful. probably Cesc begs to Xavi privately to let the world know of his feelings
It ain't school but in the end they're human after all
Xavi's comments about Cesc really arent that striking. What I like about him is that he is through and though cule. His articles about Madrid always bring a smile in my face since hes always so direct.
about Pique, as Pep says hes a bick loco at times so I wouldnt worry.
I dont think Xavi has done anything wrong. However I can agree with you about Piques douchebag-move. He knows he is the tallest and we can clearly see that Thiago told him about it in the video. That was maybe not so nice by him but we should not overreact about such small issues. But if Messi would stand behind him he would probably move right away. This is lockerroom hierarki and those with more power have to use it well just like our captain Puyol. If you treat people the right way you will get respect which is clearly something Pyui commands from everyone in the squad.
I dont think the catalans and the spanish players get favourable treatment. Do you ever see Iniesta pulling anything like that? He is always in some corner or in the back without making much noise. Pique is more of a fratboy type who makes a lot of noise. It is in his nature and Pep will be the last one to take nonsens from him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV0jJx7GQMU&fe…
lol.. look at Afellay. he's got his game face on

OMG OMG look at Pique at 0:36, he takes his mobile phone from some guy – I bet $1.000.000 he took it to post in his twitter smth like "Just took a pic outside the White House with my friends!! (in Spanish) Oooooooooh moc moc!!!! Jajajajajajajaja " xD
OT: [youtube ooXcAKHz_eE&feature=player_embedded http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooXcAKHz_eE&feature=player_embedded youtube] Just look at how much fans barca were greeted by
wow I haven't seen that many mexicans together since I last went on the 7 train.
It seem in the next couple of years will be Gerard vs Neymar … like now they say it's Messi vs C.Ronaldo .Forca Barca !
we have many talent players in barca b but i love sergi roberto, deulofeu, rafa more than anybody.
I think that this players should come to first team slowly like thiago.
Thus this arrange can be for barca 2015.
But i hope players like sergi roberto, espinoza be patient.
Vv/mino/?

Ot:anyone know how many hours till the barca-man u game kicks off??
It's on in 2 hours..
I don’t believe Gerard can succed at Barca but I really hope he proves me wrong.
that goal is just sick
breathtaking…..omg!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Deulofeu has the potential to be a good addition to Barça's first team in the coming years . He has good ball technique and trickery . He will probably need to improve on his pace and stamina . He is one to watch . Just keep the MF Wenger from poaching him too !!
