Tibia fracture for David Villa

According to Barça’s official site, initial examination of forward David Villa (30) has indicated that the player has suffered a fracture in the tibia of the left leg. Villa has been moved to the Yokohama Rosai Hospital for further testing.

During Thursday’s Semi-final win over Al-Sadd (0-4) in the Club World Cup, David Villa suffered a fracture in the tibia of his left leg in an action in which he moved forward towards the goal. The player is currently undergoing further tests at the Yokohama Rosa Hospital.

This is the first injury for the Asturian forward with FC Barcelona. Up to this point, the player has not missed a single match through injury.

I'm sure the whole team is behind you and you have the (true) fans supporting you till the end. And guys, at least wait a day to start the signing thread, show some respect, this is a post about a guy who just broke a bone that could possibly have a definitive affect on his career, and all you care about are these fancy shmancy signings.

    • claude says:

      No its never Peps fault

    • mikkelman089 says:

yea Pep should be like one of those guys who look into the future and stuff to see if it is ok to play Villa. man Pep is so stupid giving Villa a chance to show himself after a bad steak of games.
      that is a pathetic comment

    • Barcaholic says:

It's your fault not being able to understand football!

  22. Halo says:

He was so calmly brave, that I didn't realize something was wrong at first. The GK behind him was holding his leg and twisting in “agony”, while Villa was the one to really suffer. Yet you could see nothing but a lip bite.
    What a man!

  23. Claude says:

Terrible news. Villa will come back stronger.
Think we must not play Alexis or mascherano in final even if they feel fit.
Let's just beat Santos and get out of this competition with the trophy and win it for Villa.

  24. fck off lampard says:

  32. Barcaboy says:

Everything will be fine people! Why are people talking more about who's going to replace Villa than Villa's health? Why are people not curious about how's Villa doing? I watched the match live (woke up at 5:30) and after I saw Villa's injury, I was worried the whole day at school! Wish you a super speedy recovery my brother!

  33. KLynge says:

Anims Villa- now let's win the world cup for him. It's important to compete for every silverware. That's what it's all about AND it's not easy to reach the final in club world cup, to make it we had to go thru the whole CHL, win the final and then the semifinal itself in CWC. A true fan supports Barca in good times and the bad times.

  34. DonIniesta says:

The CWC win will be for you Villa, Visca Barca!

  35. Asoto says:

Anims Villa! Get well soon, we'll wait you for another great goal, what about Munich?

    Villa's message from Sport.es:
    http://estaticos.sport.es/resources/jpg/7/6/13239

Hi all! Thanks for your encouragement! This injury is a blow, but I am convinced that I will recover as soon as possible, thinking about playing the final in Munich (I know my colleagues will take me to her) and the Euro. I will work hard for it. They count on me! Tomorrow I'll be in Spain. A hug!

  38. Barca1_ says:

Villa, I have faith in your recovery and I believe that you will be back for Munich and the Euro's. This is understandably a difficult time for David, Barca, and Spain. Villa, do not lose hope the best is yet to come.

  39. Stavy says:

Best of luck to Villa. When Abidal left it was really upsetting because he had reached the peak of his form, but with Villa leaving in poor form, it really saddens me. Hope to see him back soon and ready to score goals!
