The Pictures: Training at Eden Stadium
The 21 players that traveled to Prague trained normally this Monday afternoon at the venue for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen, Eden Stadium. A few more details and some pictures from the session can be found after the jump.
Before the match, Josep Guardiola will have to discard three players from the 21 who trained today in Prague. Making the trip are 19 players from the first team, and Cuenca and Oier from Barça B. Of all the players called, Alexis Sánchez is the only one who does not have medical clearance to play.
Before the training session, Josep Guardiola was able to see an ex-teammate from his time at Brescia: Pavel Srnicek. He was the second ‘keeper for the Italian team from 2000 through 2003, which coincided with the period the current blaugrana coach was at the club. The Czech former player traveled to the Eden Stadium to greet Guardiola, his old acquaintance.

Oh man. Can't wait to see Sanchez play again but if it were up to me I wouldn't even put him in the final list. He's come back after a serious injury and he needs to take it step by step. Not even will I let him play for 90 let alone 45 minutes against a team like Bilbao. The CDR game against Hospitalet would be perfect for him to play the whole 90 minutes so that he can gain his match fitness and become the dream signing we've all been waiting to see. Two months sure felt like a long time.

OT: I wish we bought Silva from Valencia instead of Villa. Villa is arguably one of the top 3 number 9s in the world, but if I knew Pep will play him on the left flank I wish we got Silva, he would have fit so perfectly with Messi and company. Villa seems very lost, his games now are like someone who goes to work 9 to 5 do the minimum and go home. Where’s the fiery Villa that killed Madrid and combined so perfectly with Messi?
He'll be back dude, chill out. Barca always needs messi + 20 goals a season striker/wingers beside him silva would never be that.
Villa has lost his confidence lately. Yeah, I wish we got him, Silva reminds me of Iniesta when you look at some of the things he does with the ball. His dribble, ball control, vision, passing. A Complete player.
the world looks at barca with awe, thinking that never, has a team been that complete, with players of such high quality.
what do barca fans do meanwhile? look elsewhere, constantly thinking "if only we sold him, if only we bought him, etc."
i honestly don't get it. let alone villa, i don't even get why people complain about keita, or gosh, even maxwell. get a grip guys, football is cyclical, we are not always going to be the best of the best, and when a tougher period comes i want to see how everyone who complained will look back and talk about these years. enjoy while it lasts. let's be thankful for every player we have on the squad. look at pinto, he hardly ever plays, but he brings so much harmony and joy to the sqaud, that also counts.
