Soriano looking at a move to Benfica?

Barcelona B striker Jonathan Soriano, whose contract expires at the end of the season, recently told Portuguese radio station TSF that Benfica is an option for him in the winter market and he will speak with FC Barcelona to evaluate the ‘best option’.

Soriano said, “The reason I would go for Benfica is that it is a big club with great history, often playing in the Champions League and always fighting for the Portuguese title.” He said that he knows some Benfica players such as Saviola and Oscar Cardozo personally, but has spoken primarily to his good friend Nolito, who was his strike partner at Barcelona B last season.

Jonathan Soriano scored 32 goals in the 2nd division last season and is now on the way to recovery from the injury that he suffered during FC Barcelona’s participation in the Audi Cup in pre-season.
