Riverola and Cuenca return to Barça B

Riverola and Cuenca, two players on loan last season at Vitesse in Holland and Sabadell, respectively, will return to the discipline of the club for the coming season, rejoining Barcelona B. Both have had a good role in the teams where they have played this past year.

The Barcelona midfielder Martí Riverola, 20, will be available to Eusebio Sacristán on July 11. Riverola, who has been at Barça since the age of 6, has gone through all the blaugrana’s formative football teams. He joined Barça through the FCB Escola and has played for all the various youth levels up to Barça B.

When Holland’s Vitesse appointed Albert Ferrer as coach last December, one of the requests of the ex-player from Barça’s ‘Dream Team’ was the transfer of the youth midfielder. Riverola has played in the Dutch Eridivisie and contributed to the fact that Vitesse has succeeded in staying in the top division of football in the Netherlands.

The player from Reus, Isaac Cuenca, played all last season at CE Sabadell on loan from FC Barcelona, where he played in Group III of the Second Division B. Cuenca, also 20, helped Lluís Carreras’ side achieve promotion to the Second Division A, and was one of the major players throughout the season for the team of the Nova Creu Alta in Sabadell.

Isaac Cuenca Isaac arrived at FC Barcelona from Mercantil of Sabadell. But this wasn’t the player’s first experience at Barça. After playing one year in the lower ranks of La Masia he was transferred to DAMM, and the following year he left the club and signed for Reus.

Barça recovered Cuenca and he played for one year with Juvenil A (2009/10). Isaac Cuenca began the last pre-season with Luis Enrique’s B team before eventually being sent on loan to Sabadell.
