Manzano is an excellent manager and what he did with Mallorca 2 seasons ago was incredible. Athletico will be challenging for La liga next season IMO, if they can strengthen their defence and add another player upfront to play alongside Falcao, they will be a top team.
atletico have had a good team the last few seasons too, its just that defence that needs to be strengthened like you said

well dont give me negative comments but Valencia showed that it is NOT impossible to stop Barca and their midfield domination, Barca played with 3 defenders, hence 5 midfielders in that game, so they should have had over 70% possession and won the game but no. Valencia more smart than that, the players worked together and put pressure on the defense from the goalkeeper all the way to forwards, thats why so many bad passes from Barca and only 56% possession.
The reason why they had a good first half was the fact that they attacked wide- there was no width in our defence.
Another reason was the fact that in the middle we had both Busquets and Keita- none of them is particularly creative The moment that Thiago entered the game we started playing our normal style and Valencia was in trouble.
I agree, Keita and Busquets were not creative enough, Once Thiago and Villa entered we played better.
Fenderek is right, the way you beat a 3 man defence is with width, because it stretches them so easily. and the only reason we have extra midfielders is because teams dont play 4 at the back against us, they play 6-7 most of the time, with only one up front. Valencia really didnt play like other teams, as they played their normal game, and pressured us well. it was good to see for a change, despite the result

true, this guy ruined sevilla last season which is supposedly one of the big boys clubs. i hate it how he just sits on his bench during matches and doesn't even try to convey anything to his players when they are losing, just shows how lost he can be as much as his players..
He did give us a fight last season (second leg game with sevilla in the league), i respect him for that. ( i think it was a draw )

an inevitable defeat. Barcelona are miles above Ath Madrid. But with Falcao I think they can make the Europa League next season.
I hope he inspires them to try and at least play when RM comes to town instead of just rolling over.
