Messi sets new record in La Liga: 50 goals in single season
When FC Barcelona and Argentine international forward Lionel Messi (who’s just 23, we need to remember), scored the “insurance” goal in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, he broke yet another record and became the first player in the history of la Liga to score 50 goals (all competitions) in a single season. He surpassed the record previously held by Hungarian Ferenc Puskás, who had scored 49 goals for Real Madrid in the 1959-60 season.

I believe if you're gifted you are gifted.. doesnt matter the era and Leo is super gifted and yet calm about it not like others fighting for who's the football King.. For me he's among the trinity in football

In my eyes too, his is the best footballer but to seal the deal, people say he's gotta win the WC for his country.
What I mean by that is Lionel Messi needs 3 more goals to score 100 goals in two seasons.. Last season, he scored 47 goals and this season he has scored 50 goals so far.. He only needs 3 more goals to score a total of 100 goals in two seasons..
ithink messi is better than pele by far, because of two reasons at least for me.
the first is that the system of footbal is more complicated and developped. the defenders are much better, and the coachs also.
the second one is technologies are more developped also; in pele era, maybe you can hear about him but you cant get prepared for him. but now coachs can have videos and analysis and even consultants paid just to help to get prepared.
so please dont even think to compare them.

Agree, though you forgot 13) humble, 14) shy, and 15) philanthropic. I mention these because it's kind of impossible to dislike him as a person (even if he plays for your rival team). When people say nasty things about him (or shine lasers in his eyes or throw things at him), I think they must just be awful human beings themselves.
