FC Barcelona’s site has officially announced that the Catalan club has reached an agreement with midfielder Jonathan dos Santos (21) to extend his contract through the 2014-15 season. The deal, which will be signed sometime in the next few days, will include a buyout clause of 30 million euros.
As the site describes: “The 21-year old Mexican has come up through the youth teams at the Club, after joining the Infantil B team and working his way through the other youth teams before reaching the Barça B squad, where he is currently playing. Pep Guardiola has called him into the first team on few occasions too, most notably in Tuesday night’s Champions League game in Milan when he came on as a late substitute.
“Dos Santos, who is a full Mexican international, made his first team debut with Barça in the Spanish Cup against Cultural Lleonesa on October 28th 2009.”
