Villarreal defender Joan Oriol has revealed that his team-mate Giuseppe Rossi is intent on moving to FC Barcelona this summer, with the young Spanish striker admitting “Rossi wants to go to Barça.”
Speaking to the ‘COM Esports Competició‘ program on COM Radio, Oriol said, “He’s hoping that everything comes to fruition and to see if next year he will wear the Blaugrana,” adding that the former Manchester United player “would adapt easily” to life at the Camp Nou.
Continuing on, the young Catalan defender, whose twin brother, Eduardo (Edu), plays for the Barça B team, spoke of what the young Italian would bring to the Barça fold, saying, “Rossi can contribute many factors; quality, experience and youth. He is a player with the Barça profile. Giuseppe is the best player the club can sign. He would add to the competition that exists at the club, and he knows the risks of going there.”
Finally, Oriol turned his attention to the rumour that Barça striker, Bojan Krkic, may be used as a makeweight in the deal to bring Rossi to Catalunya, saying, “We would welcome him with open arms. He is a great player, a promise for Spanish football. He has a high level and would be very good for Villarreal.“
