Iniesta out for four weeks
As a notice on Barça’s official site reads: “Andrés Iniesta has torn the femoral biceps in his left leg. The Medical Services have examined the injury and confirmed that he will be out for about a month.”
“In the 38th minute of the game the midfielder, in an individual action, felt pain in his left leg and called to be substituted. Cesc Fàbregas came on in his place.
“Andrés Iniesta was subjected to a series of medical tests and the verdict is a torn femoral biceps in his left leg, which will mean he misses about a month of football.
“He therefore joins Alexis Sánchez and Gerard Piqué on Barça’s injury list.”

You can't put the blame on Pep, you are just forgetting how Busquets was good at CB when Pep needed him their in the last season and how he showed to everyone how good he can do at CB…
After last night everybody rose blaming the bad choices of Pep…and what Pep said was that his team performed very well and I agree with him…. I was desperately waiting for these matches where we drew… just enough to see the guys put their foot on and start focusing… that's all they need.

It's the curse of the shorties! Great in the front, sometimes a liability in the back, especially against a team like Milan. (Although that doesn't excuse Busi, I guess.)

Oh Lord!!! I'm gonna try not to panic but, it's gonna be difficult. We conceded a lot of goals so far this season already. No one on the team looks fit except for Alves, maybe Abi and Keita. I know we had a crapy pre-season so the physio's have to work overtime to get the players to stop getting hurt. I hate being superstitious but last time we had these bad injuries, RM won the league and they were also wearing those stupid collars they are wearing this season. It's unbearable to go to other website when Barca don't win, there are a lot of trolls out there, so for now i'ma stay on TB:x. I know it's still early days but, come on BARCA!!!!! I NEED A HUG SOMEBODY.:S

Pep always have things under control, you should trust him. And why hang out on other websites when there's tB, who gives you every update and you share opinions of many culés around the world. You shouldn't worry about RM, they nearly lost to Getafe at home, and they had to dive for an outside-the-box penalty to win. And we're talking about Getafe, RM's B-team. Also remember; Preseason, a fully fit and 100 % RM vs. a half fit and 50 % Barca = Barca conquers. No worries about them.
Besides, you could be happy about our grande Capitan is back.

the good news is that Puyol is back and now Fabregas, Thiago and Afellay have more chances to prove themselves to the world. I have great faith in Thiago and Afellay. They have the potential and it needs to be unlocked.

Thought abidal was immense today. Always seems to be in the right spot at the right time to snuff out an attack. If he hadn't got injured and then had trouble getting rid of the ball, no corner and no goal. That's life
My main concern isnt the injuries or the defense. Its the body language of the players. They just seem unintrested and nonchalant.

They played well. Milan parked bus and Iniesta & Messi would have finished the game in the second half when we were mounting pressure on them.

Once again we play bad wen busquets is not in DM. I feel that the stats with busi as DM and without is incredible although i havent any numbers on it.

My theory is that as soon as the defense no longer needs Busquets and he moves back into his role as DM, the midfield will begin to function properly again and all will be well.

about the team and the season and campaigns, though, i feel that Barça will delight us with a lot of beautiful play, and that we need to remain calm, confident, and supportive of their philosophy, Pep's innovations, and the team that is part and representative of the enormous effort that makes up FCB – "mes que un club."

Every1 needs to be criticized once a while or else any1 can get complacent. As GREAT as pep is, this is his time to be criticized after what happened twice in a row; feel free to give me thumbs down for speaking the truth. And yes he is no GOD, he is just a human being hence worthy of receiving criticism.

It's funny how reading a lot of negative comments on tB actually soothes me. I was freaking out big time after the match today, especially considering the R.S. fiasco a few days back. But having gone through so many posts by people, I kind of get pumped up to defend the team. I know I know, we are an emotional bunch, quick to jump at the opportunity of nitpicking the players and trying to find the weakest link. But I am baffled by some of the comments. First of all, why are people still talking shit about Villa and Pedro? What do you mean, they are not good enough? Messi has all the pressure? f*ck yea, and he loves every minute of it! The guy lives for this. And I don't think anyone expects neither Pedro nor Villa to be quite as good as Leo. As far as Villa, so far he has provided us with 2 HUGE goals in only five games that saved us costly losses. Then Pedro, come on guys, he gives everything, and he is definitely not a bad player, and deserves his spot.
Now, for the injuries, yes, they suck. But, wasn't everyone saying how stupid it was to promote Thiago AND buy Cesc, meaning that an expensive player will either be benched, or will bench other canteranos that deserve a chance? Well, here we have it, Pep knew that injuries would come, but now we HAVE the players that can come in and step up. Fab is not yet Iniesta, but he is still awesome. And Thiago is golden as well. And yea, injuries are rough, Pique is out, so is Sanchez and Iniesta, but hey, PUYOL IS BACK!!! And Afellay is too. That's great news considering that both have been struggling a lot. Point is, we will probably never have a completely fit squad, that's how it works. Milan was without Ibra and Robinho today. The only team that doesn't suffer from this is RM because they have 72,000 players on their team. But, we have great back up.
And last thing, I agree with everyone that Busi is so much better in DM, and he is better than Keita in that position, and CB is a lot tougher for him, but I can't say that we drew because the defense is BAD, it's more a matter of a player or two kind of zoning out (same as the match before this one), and that is what I think they should work on. Needless to say, last season the Machete and Busi played tons of defense, and they have saved us a lot as well.

Iniesta and Sanchez out… our two dribblers out. I just hope that in the next few weeks, teams don't play the deep defence against us, like Milan did. We need the dribblers in that case. Adriano and Afellay sure aren't Sanchez and Iniesta, but they are both very creative players who like to draw defenders out and beat them. I hope they are good enough against some of the weaker teams while Sanchez and Iniesta are out. Thiago might also be used in advanced positions. And I seriously hope that Pep tries out Pique at CF for a few games. It's a proven fact that he creates danger every time he goes forward, that's not the problem. With him constantly forward, defences won't be able to play so narrow and deep.

There are three players in barcelona you don't want injured.
1 – a puyol injury
2- a messi injury
3 – an iniesta injury
Last season i would of said xavi as well but we have cesc and thiago now who may not give us that xavi level performance but it's close enough. i find it difficult to find another player like iniesta. i think of thiago and cesc as both xavi type players. the youth player i think is closest to being an exact carbon copy of iniesta is rafinha when played in midfield. i really hope that when he gets promoted, that is where he will play, save the wings for cuenca and deulofue.
The team is playing very safe except Iniesta and Messi who have the freedom to attack on the dribble. Iniesta out is a huge blow, for Spain too. It shows how unbelievably how hard it can be to score and how amateurish the last three goals allowed were. Sergio can't jump to save his life, and isn't quick or strong enough to stand up todays forwards. Experiment over already! Pep please don't start falling for the trap thate very idea you have must be smart. We are going to find out now what Cesc is made of because one our biggest creators is out.
Nobody can replace Iniesta but with Fabregas and Thiago on board losing him will be less a problem than it would have been otherwise. Time for Cesc to step up and show his value, and I'm guessing he's fired up to do exactly that.
Having Puyol and Pique back at full strength will make a huge difference, hope that happens soon.
I think it's obvious this team is spent. And, without Barca to stop them, it's obvious this is going be Real Madrid's year to win both La Liga and the Champion's League. I'm starting a new site called totalMadrid where clear-headed people like myself can get together and celebrate Real's breakthrough season. Who's with me?

Four weeks? that's not that bad even though we have to play against Sevilla, Valencia and At.Madrid in the upcoming month…
What I'm worrying about is that they chose to ignore the lesson they should have learned from the match against La Real. People, even players didn't regard this as a big match. I know we will go through after all but this was the CL match against AC Milan. People at Camp Nou were too quiet and calm… In the second half our players were smiling and looked like they didn't care about their minor errors, as if they only think about the final.
This is a dangerous symptom, isn't it? This result will encourage other teams and if Pep and his players didn't take it seriously, it would cost a lot.
Puyol was back. His experience and captaincy might be the pieces that were missing these days.

well at least there is any news about abidal injury, that's a relief. Now there is no excuse keeping busquets in CB position. We have abidal and puyol, they are more than enough to cover the CB position with mascherano as a backup. With leadership of puyol, you don't have to worry about and organisation on the back.

last year we last the copa and we went to madrid to play cl semi with lots of injuries, and we still managed to the double.
It is not the 2 draws that worries me but it is the injuries…. i would have taken 2 losses without any injuries rather than this… hope iniesta and alexis recover soon……
Yes totally agreed. We are so thin on the CB position that having Puyol n Pique injured at the same time was a double whammy and no matter how good DM Busquet n Mascherano were last season we will be punished every now and again if we keep on playing 2 DM as CB at the same time.
It is not the time to panic but I think Pep should consider the following things :
1) Consider buying a decent CB in Jan window if he feel that the CB loaned out are not good enough right now to play for Barca.
2) Pedro goals have been vital in the past but I sometime feel he goes missing in a game for a bit too long. Affellay should be given more chances and may be bring Pedro as a subsitute.
3) This season Xavi has been playing deeper than what he was doing for last 2 season. May be that is becasuse Pep want him to cover up for injuries at CB but Barca is more potent n incisive when he is in the final 3rd of the field.

4) Teams will continue to defend narrowly and so the role of Alves crossing and someone in the box to head them is crucial (Affellay could be useful here). I think Alves need to improve his crossing and Pep need to encourage the team to have bodies in the box to head them away. I know this is not Barca style but then a team must have different option coz opponent will try all defensive tactics.
It is just the start of the season and it is good that we have these problem right now (injuries, lapses in defence) which still give time to sort out the little pieces together.

Yes you re right Katherine, with Bisu/Xavi/Iniesta i feel 101% comfortable in the midfield. But i know Pep his trying to figure one or two things that is why he is using Busi as CB but now he can figure it out as soon as possible because am tired of this draw things,barca has spoil us with winning…lol
We were playing well against Real Sociedad before Sanchez got injued. same with against Milan before Iniesta got injured. We also miss him against Inter loss. Only Messi is not enough for teams that park buses, we need players like Iniesta & Sanchez; unfortunately, we lost them to injury.
I expect Afellay to stand up and prove him especially now that we have lost 2 important players. He should use his long shot and pace, as he did against Madrid. Move pass full back. That is what I expect from him.
Thiago also should be used in the advanced role.
