Cesc cleared to play
The big news emerging from Friday training, the penultimate session before the visit of Sevilla this weekend, is that midfielder Cesc Fàbregas has received his medical clearance. The ’4′ from Arenys de Mar has missed three games, but could reappear on the pitch on Saturday. Meanwhile, Alexis and Piqué continued to exercise apart from the group.
Cesc Fàbregas is ready. The midfielder received his medical clearance this Friday and could return to the Camp Nou pitch during the Barça-Sevilla encounter this weekend. The player, who injured his right hamstring during training on October 1st, has missed three of FC Barcelona’s games (Sporting, Racing and Viktoria) and also the fixtures of the Spanish national team during the latest international break.
With the availability of Cesc, Guardiola can only regret the absence of three footballers, Piqué, Alexis and Afellay. With the midfielder back in action, the coach recovers a decisive player: Cesc has scored 5 goals in his 9 first games as a blaugrana and offers another option in a midfield packed with talented players.
In addition to Cesc, training this Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva were an additional 18 players. This included the available 17 members of the first team and Isaac Cuenca, the Barça B player who made his debut on Wednesday with Josep Guardiola’s team. Alexis and Piqué, both injured, trained outside of the group.
