Barcelona linked with Leeds United teenager Elliot Kebbie

Multiple British media outlets are reporting that Barça are on the verge of securing the services of 16 year old Elliot Kebbie.  A statement on Leeds’ club website indicate that they would be compensated for the loss if the player continues on in Spain, but a club spokesperson said there are no hard feelings.  ”This is an amicable parting of the ways and there is no issue with Barcelona over this,” he said.  Barça are said to have become interested in the player following a recent work out at La Masia.

While not especially well known, Kebbie has also been linked with Manchester United of late, and is turning down a scholarship offer from Leeds to continue on at Elland Road.  Kebbie has shown athleticism away from the pitch as well, winning a national sprint title in England with a time just over 11 seconds in the 100 metres.  He received a call up to England’s U-16 squad at only 14 years of age.

Kebbie has shown comfort both in the midfield and right back.

  3. Andreas says:

    Old news

  4. Koc says:

So if he can play at right back and midfield he could be next Dani Alves ;)

    • BarcaGirl says:

Imagine if he could become the next Alves. Ha we would've got him for a small amount and we could do a Cesc and demand a massive price!!

    • LM10 says:

He's English, he lacks that Brazilian flair that you'd need to be Alves :P

    • Tirasus says:

On a personal side note; it's good to see the possibility of an English player outside England. It seems very rare. Should happen more often. Barca and Spain play the best football – why not go and learn from it?

(though of course if he learnt anything we would have to lock him up or something and refuse him to ever leave Spain) ;)

      • Culiecule says:

The English players are overrated! I dont say they are bad, Just not as good as they think they are!
Rooney now when Gerrard have become is the only top 20 player in the world for me.

To be honest ive never heard of this kid, If hes good enough Give it a shot. But idont know how many players been linked with Barca. Everybody seems to want to play for Barca! Im actaully pretty satisfide with our team. Afterall we won the Champions! hahaha

  5. That Guy says:

Who isn't linked with a move to the Camp Nou these days.

Heck I'm linked with a move to the Camp Nou, I'm the best player in the world as long as i'm not on the field, playing. The best bench warmer the world has ever seen.

    • Tirasus says:

You'll have competition mate. I use hot water bottles for bench warming! You're not the best yet! And i only come with a price tag of 0.000001m!

      • That Guy says:

I actually once set the bench on fire because it just wasn't warm(hot) enough. Also my price is…..well i'll pay them $1.00000000000

      • That Guy says:

Also not to brag but i can do everything that Messi can do…while asleep on the bench…dreaming.

  6. Titi says:

yeah everyone player who had a good season linked with barca now, i would take this rumor with a gain of salt

  7. threema says:

    his technique isnt good enuf.

    • Nelson says:

YOURS IS SURELY GOOD ENOUGH… Barca has really spoilt some of this glory hunters

      • CanteraKid says:

        Not sure if serious.

He said that the player isnt up to Barca's level technically. It's very likely considering he's an Englishman that relies on his speed. (Walcott, anyone?) How the fuck do you get to this "YOURS IS SURELY GOOD ENOUGH… "?

And you get 8 thumbs up. Either there's a huge trolling operation going or you people are just straight up stupid

  8. Reevenge says:

He is apparently one of the biggest talents in England and a very interesting signing if we should get him, although the chance of success is limited as the competition is huge, I think Barca is a good place to grow your talent, especially with the confidence the club instills in their youth players.

  9. CuleGirl says:

Well let us face the truth England can't get their young to play football properly so now they are sending them to us. It's a compliment, maybe their National Team will improve if more of their players come to Spain & learn how to play football properly. A country like England with 60million people must surely be able to produce football players. So the problem is their coaches.

Some Spanish players Torres, Alonso, Cesc etc have been to England and learnt things also, it's a two way thing.

  10. BarcaGirl says:

Barcelona have also set up an Academy for young players next door to the Chelsea academy in London. So maybe Barca thinks there is talent in England but they must be schooled and trained the Barca way when they are young to be a success.

    • Nelson says:

Do you know soccergirl??? Tell her to F*** OFF

    • LaneCruiser says:

If this is true I can only be glad. English players seem to be more physically gifted than Spanish players from a very young age, now give these youngsters some proper team play lessons and technique, we may get to see incredible players in the future.

  11. vovamark says:

The guy looks like Thierry Henry:)

  12. sunyol says:

He is good as a sprinter but not a footballer

  13. Claire says:

Hopefully this is true, he's from Halifax – my hometown! xD

    • Tirasus says:

I should probably know where that is (being from Engand)….but I haven't a clue :$

Still, it's not so bad. I've heard of people thinking London IS England…
