Match report (translated from Barça’s official site):

Eusebio Sacristán’s lads have obtained their first win at home in a match they have completely dominated and where they have enjoyed ample chances to secure the victory.

The blaugrana reserves have now earned their third consecutive victory in a game where they have had possession and control of the match for the majority of the game.

In the first half Barça enjoyed control of the play, but they were unable to finish their chances. The first opportunity arrived in the 14th minute with a shot of Carmona following a corner. The team had to wait until the 39th minute for the goal, scored by Carlos Carmona after a great move which he started himself. However, Nàstic did not give up and in that same minute Powel had a great chance, right after Barça scored.

The second half witnessed much more movement and the blaugrana’s scoring chances became more numerous. In the 52nd minute Carmona again had a good opportunity to add to their lead, and in minute 59 Rafinha sent a dangerous shot towards goal. Jonathan Soriano reappeared on the pitch in the 74th minute after three months out. In the final quarter of an hour Barça B had to suffer to keep their win against a Nàstic side that had some chances, but finally the reserves were able to keep a clean sheet and gain the three valuable points.

Eusebio: “We are very pleased to have won at home

The Barça B of Eusebio slowly climbs up the table after securing the three points against Nàstic in their third consecutive win in less than seven days, which was also their first victory at home this season.

Eusebio appeared to be very pleased with the win (1-0), the third in a row, and also to have broken the streak of bad results at the Miniestadi, where they had yet to win a match. “I leave with the feeling that the result was deserved,” affirmed the coach of the blaugrana reserves at the press conference following the game.

We controlled the match at every moment and we’ve done very well in [terms] of possession of the ball,” emphasized Eusebio after the game, although he recognized that the team lacked determination in seeking the second goal, especially in the second half. This fact and the lack of intensity in the play of the blaugrana reserves allowed Nàstic the opportunity to get back in the game and they had some chances on Oier’s goal, above all in the final minutes of the match, but the good defense of Barça prevented the draw.

Besides the three points gained, the other good news from the game against Nàstic was the reappearance of Jonathan Soriano, who returned to the pitch of the Mini three months after injuring his knee in a pre-season match with the first team.

Eusebio was very happy with the recovery of the player from Pont de Vilomar and assured that he will be a very important player for the team from now until the end of the season, although he acknowledged that “he has to go slowly to regain his form.”
