Alves: “Always a but, a why from Mourinho”

Alves: “Always a but, a why from Mourinho”

The outspoken FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves (28) responded to Real Madrid coach José Mourinho’s controversial comments about the blaugrana’s latest title haul at a charity event he supports. I’ve always said Mourinho is a person who is playing his role and he always tries to undervalue the accomplishments of others. It seems it only has value when he wins it. Jealousy is very bad.”

“We are the best in the world and the numbers are there [for all to see]. It’ll hurt whom it’ll hurt [Duélale a quien le duela],” said Alves going toe-to-toe with the Portuguese, who yesterday said he would prefer winning the Champions League as opposed to “a couple of practice games.”

“At present we are the current champions of the world and that bothers him,” Alves justified. “We are not bothered about Madrid because we don’t feel inferior to them. And if you don’t feel inferior, criticisms like that will not bother you.  But it does bother me. He has continually discredited our achievements. There’s always a but, a why, that I just could not comprehend.  But knowing that we cannot win this fight, it is on the pitch where we’ll try to be better.”

Finished with the bantering, Alves turned instead to compliment his teammates. “It will not be for some time before people with so much quality will ever be assembled again, people who are so eager in wanting to give joy to their fans with a view to carrying on winning titles.  Sometimes words cannot describe the many joyous moments and the honour felt by being part of this club.”

Alves continued the praise with his coach, Pep Guardiola. “He has to be credited for restoring football to its rightful place. It went from being a sport where people used to have fun to being basically a result based sport. And it is not pleasing to see, not very entertaining. What Pep has done is to recover this. We are [still] concerned with winning but what he has regained is the need to play well to provide enjoyment for the masses.”

“We know that without Guardiola we would not be the great team that we are, and we would not have won so many titles. Our main objective [now] is to see Pep staying here for a long time because he is the heart of this team, and this club.”

Sometimes I think, there's no need to respond anything to this pathetic man, his nonsense is not worth (for us) to do so. Losers gonna whine (and lose too). Our best answers are on the pitch.
Well said Dani, I love the way you slap Mou.

    • barcelona_rr says:

reading this article, i remember my favorite joke about moudrid:
boy to girl: "hey, can i fuck u 5 times in 90 minutes?"
girl to boy: "who do you think i am, Real Madrid?!"..

Long live our Barca and Merry Christmas to all Cules!!!

  2. Messimania says:

Mou sees his team coming second in la legs and winning the copa as what makes a team the best in the world, and this was proven by winning the Marca best coach award, he is right winning the champion league is most important and you need to win it to get toy play this training games and we did win that important championship, that is why we are here to get the icing on our big cake

  3. samarth-culé says:

Don't pay any attention to Mourinho – don't even ignore him . Eve that is too much for a person like him…

  4. Arvine says:

  6. Sapacko19 says:

Shut this piece of shit Mou off !

  7. _Lily says:

I love Dani Alves. Most of Barcelona's team are unwilling to fight back against Mourinho's comments, and we need Alves to stop assh*les like Mourinho from getting a free pass. He tells it like it is.

  8. love me barca says:

    thanks dani.
Now probably mou react to dani words in his press conference after their tonigh match!
But dani reply to him again.
    Viva dani.

  9. Hex says:

  10. fitzell snr. says:

it is very rarely to hear barca players talk back at what people say against’em for we normaly do that on the pitch. Well said Alves nd welcome back.

Hey guys heard neymar has agreed personal terms with barca in case santos agrees to sell can u confirm that?

  11. NovaRockz says:

Hahahah Dani is such a diplomatic beast. He can bash people without…. you know… Moubahsing them?
He can embarass people without being rude.
Imagine how would it be if him, Ibra, Ronaldo, and Mou would go to a verbal war.

He would humiliate them all :D :D

  12. alicia phillip says:

But don’t you need to win UCL to reach there? Didn’t he did that with Inter Milan? So that was a practice match then? I’m tired of this man. Someone need to put a zap on his lip. FIFA/UEFA someone. To be constantly bashing Barca all the time for no specific reason.

He always have something negative to say about this team but as Alves rightfully said, “we are the best and we have the figures to show”.

I always say when you are negative there is nothing good that will come out of it because you leave no room for the positive. Negative actions/thoughts brings out negative performance. Mourinho days are numbered and his days of winning trophies are at an end.

By the end of this season there will be a drastic change in the league. Positive always out way the negative. The table will turn and we will win the league. By God’s grace we will win.

  13. Jamal102 says:

someone tell me wat that little one Mourinho said?

  14. Anon says:

I think the coach from Madrid deserves a new moniker "The Bitter One". I agree with Alves on the jealousy matter, but I would have to say Mou is bitter. He covets the success that Barcelona enjoys and he is bitter over his own failings.

As a result, Mou acts out in delusional rantings (verbally lashing out with wild conspiracy theories including UNICEF) and and outrageous tantrums (the unprovoked poking of Tito…seriously ???) to release the internal pressure. He needs to have a pysch evaluation before he has a complete mental break.

Hope he gets some valium in his stocking!

    • piskota says:

      Bitter One, I like :)
Also, I've just recently noticed that Morinho copies Pep's words in his press conferences, he started to use the same expressions as Pep. It's weird and maybe a sign that he is getting confused, or starting to lose his own identity (?)

For example before Madrid's Copa del Rey match, he said the following (Source: RM Official website):

"There will be a break for a week, but I'd rather we played because I like giving people what they want. People who love football would like to see the sport being played in the holiday season. The PLAYERS ARE ARTISTS that give people the show they want. …"

"Granero has to keep working. He will play tomorrow; he'll get his chance. He always gives a SERIOUS PERFORMANCE, showcasing drive and personality. He is also a Madridista and I expect him to play a SERIOUS GAME."

      There are Pep's usual words…

  15. Thity27 says:

"There’s always a but, a why, that I just could not comprehend. But knowing that we cannot win this fight, it is on the pitch where we’ll try to be better."

    Wonderful, Alves ;)

  16. Tatortot says:

Mou has bad karma…he will never get the better of Barca in the long term because the futbol gods won't let this karma slide….Congratulate your rival on achievement … show you deserve to beat Barca and maybe you will..maybe once…maybe twice…but never long term… not with Jose's bad karma…which is Real Madrid Karma now

  17. BarcaAFG says:

Wow! How quickly did Mourinho forget the spanking his team received by Barca again and is the only coach in the history of Franco Madrid to lose 4 home games in front of their own fans and still have a job. Alves is a stud!

  18. Cule_999 says:

Bravo Dani!! Mourinho is a cancer that is slowly eating away and will one day devour the EE.
And it can't happen soon enough for me. xD

    Visca Barca!

  19. K_86 says:

Mou can win his champions league of the press-room..we'll concentrate on winning the Champions League in Munich..

  20. Caesarean says:

Line for line, word for word, alves has read my mind in correlation 2 Mourinho (tha jealous hypocrite), to tha state football was in (used 2 focus on jus getting results and not caring about entertaining fans)

Big thanks 2 Pep and tha alves’ of my wonderful team.

  21. lado Air says:

  22. Tuaregbarca says:

Mou tell me since you coaching Madrid how many victories you have vs Barca? Also it is Copa del Rey better than world cup?2 understand how Mou is Crazy,he already count the brake as winning la Liga. Ha ha ha ha.Your days in la Liga are few.

  23. blaugranachica says:

“No, the best team is Inter, who, after winning the Champions League, have just won the FIFA Club World Cup,” This is what Mourinho said last season a month after the manita.

How soon he forgets. Barca are the best team in the world. I wish a journalist would bring this quote up to counter his "practice match" jibberish!

And Alves also put him in his place :D

  24. melissa_fcb says:

indeed barca is the best club right now

  25. lagingupil says:

for now, pep is the best coach, FC Barcelona is the best club, whatever that as*hole said , it doesnt change anything

  26. QatarFoundation says:

Mourinho is just a troll. a big troll.

  27. Ivich says:

Power to Dani! Giving it back! He nailed it – if Mou wins it, it is relevant, if someone else wins it, it is not. Double standards!

  28. Cule in VA says:

How about "The SPECIOUS One" (specious = having the sound or appearence of truth, but actually false when examined closely).

  29. Megster says:

We should also question Mou why he has only won one title, despite all the hype that surrounds him.

  30. michael says:

FUCK OFF MORINHO you are totally stupid.

  31. ghano says:

just ignore him, thats what he deserve this stupid.
i cant beleive that such person still exist on earth, he is keeping talking before the match after, everytime….; anytime he finds the opportinity to talk.

  32. culest says:

    VISCA BARCA:)VISCA DAN-THE-MAN:D!

  37. davidpopcy says:

hard work ll always see us 2rough……………………..up barca

  38. felix durumbah says:

Mourinho is demented because Barca have badly dented his career record and prestige. For one, Barca last season destroyed his 9-yr record of not recording a home loss to any team. Besides, we've beaten and derobed him so many times and now that the world, which used to respect him, is beginning to see no 'specialness' in him after all. Thirdly, Barca have repeatedly cut short, and will continue to, cut short his trophy winning days.Etc etc etc etc Barca is consigning Mourinho to the dustbin of history! And he doesn't like the prospect one bit.

  39. ckc says:

I think Pep should stay at Barca, just like Alex at Man United. For a very long time with good support from the club, even in lesser years. He's done so much already. When it is all going well that is no criticism but as soon there are no trophies people will start to doubt.
