Alexis to travel to Prague

Chilean winger Alexis Sánchez, despite not yet having his medical clearance, is on Guardiola’s list of 21 players called up to travel to the Czech Republic for the match against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Tuesday. Also included on the list are Cuenca and Oier from Barça B.

Alexis Sánchez has been included in the squad for the first time since his injury on September 10th. The Chilean forward, even without medical clearance, is on the list of 21 players who will travel to Prague this Monday to face Viktoria Plzen the next day. The team will train on Monday at the Eden Stadium and afterwards Alexis could be cleared to play.

The other players on the list include 19 from the first team and two from the reserves: Isaac Cuenca and Oier Olazábal. In the latter’s case, he travels for logistical reasons, because if anything were to happen to one of the goalkeepers during Monday’s training session, there would not be enough time for another player to travel and arrive in time for the game.  The only players left off the list are the injured pair of Pedro and Afellay.

A day after the manita against Mallorca (5-0), the team trained this Sunday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The starters from the previous evening worked on recovering from their efforts against Mallorca, as is typical the day after a game. Completing the group were 11 players from Barça B: Cuenca, Montoya, Deulofeu, Soriano, Gustavo, Espinosa, Sergi Gómez, Rosell, Rodri, Armando and Masip.
