FC Barcelona wing-back, Adriano Correia, has spoken of his pleasure at spending such a special season with the club, especially considering it was only his debut year in Catalunya. Speaking on the show ‘Primer Toc‘ on RAC1, the Brazilian enthused about his first 12 months with the club, drawing special attention to the team’s manager, Pep Guardiola, for helpling him along the way.
“I am very pleased with my first year at the club, although I was disappointed with the injury I picked up in the first derby against Real Madrid.” said Adriano, who moved to Barca from Sevilla last summer. “The Wembley final was spectacular and this year has been incredible. I think we demonstrated that we could be the champion of the Champions.”
As for the influence of Pep Guardiola, Adriano has no doubt of the importance that the former player brings. “Guardiola is a spectacular coach, I have learned a lot from him. He has a special way of seeing football and I am proud to be his player.”
On the potential signings the club could make this summer the Brazilian seemed unable to decide which star name he wants to see arrive at Camp Nou, saying “Rossi, Cesc and Alexis Sanchez are all great players. I hope negotiations go well and they can play at the club.” Adriano also had a special word for another player, and Brazil team-mate Neymar, who has been linked with a move to Europe. “He is an amazing player and still has much to learn, but I am convinced that he will be a real football star, and has the potential to be a Blaugrana.”
