The few players that Guardiola has available returned to work on Thursday morning after enjoying a day off on Wednesday. At the session held jointly with the reserves, the big story was Adriano’s return to training with the group after spending the last few sessions doing recovery work in the gym.
After training on Monday and Tuesday, Dani Alves, who signed his contract renewal on Wednesday evening which keeps him at the club until 2015, left to join the Brazil national team for their friendly on Sunday against Scotland in London. While he was without one Brazilian, Pep Guardiola did gain another with Adriano training normally on pitch no. 2 of the Ciutat Esportiva after two days in the gym.
Given the numerous first team players missing because of international commitments, the remaining team members have again joined the B team for a joint session. So the five first team players available – Pinto, Keita, Jeffren, Bojan, and Adriano – in addition to Fontàs, trained with Luis Enrique’s team.
Pedro, Puyol and Maxwell are still working to recover from their respective injuries.
