He'd better renew! I already feel like Barca would not be the same without him. He's such a perfect part of the team–I feel very comfortable saying that I think that Alves, Pique, Puyol, and Abidal are the best team of defenders in the world. Two more years from him and Puyol would be terrific.

I can't imagine that he wouldn't renew, though. Everyone on the team clearly loves him, and I know that he's said several times that he was really touched by all of the fan support he got.

So he’ll be 35 or36 years old when his contact ends? Not sure thatsa good idea.we have financial problems and our wages are already the highest in the world according to latest figures. We don’t want to turn intoa squad unable to renew itself and having huge earners on the bench because of age. I know all will hate thati say it but puyol and Abi will be 34 and 33 next year,
