Who do you think deserves to be the no. 1 for spain? Sure valdes! for me
He's in the peak of his career and is best goalkeepers in the world this season.

  11. i love messi says:

hahahhah u seriously need medication if you think valdes is a better goal keeper then saint casillas.you think valdes would of made 2 1ON1 saves against robben in a world cup final?

  12. Maxmaxmaz says:

It sucks that the only people who know what VV worth are the barca fans. Apparently everyone else is blind

  13. Shy-Ronnie says:

IMHO.. i think Casillas, Valdes and Van der Saar have been outstanding this whole season, but i'd put casillas on 3rd place and let you guys deside who's the nr 1 of the season ;)

  14. DirkVA says:

    Sant Valdes!

  15. Radumus says:

Fantastic achievement! By the time his career is done, he will be in the top 3 for Barca in appearances. By next season he will be in top 5 already.

you do realize that it was pure luck that Casillas managed to keep Robben's goals away.

Also, you could the pressure pinning Robben down. it was his finishing that really let Holland down. not Casillas's goal keeping skills that got Spain the world cup

Casillas didn't do anything spectacular for the other games, he did what was needed of him sure, but he wasn't particularly in the spot light. Pique, Puyol, Busi and Xabi Alonso did too well of a job tracking the opponent's front men.
What's more, I feel that putting Valdes on would've helped the defence more because of the fact that on counter attacks, 3/4 of the defenders are Barcelona players.
Pique Puyol Busi and Xabi Alonso.
Ramos and Capdevilla's jobs were to widen up the play on attack so the three attacking midfielders can be more congested. Just they way Barcelona play.

Also… if you didn't realize. in the final, del bosque brought on Fabregas which was a very fine piece of tactical substitution. Xavi was moved back to a CM role, where he is more comfortable and Fabregas helped freshen up the front 4.
This has nothing to do with Valdes or Casillas, but It baffles me as to why people thought Fabregas isn't good enough for Spain or Barcelona when he is actually the natural heir to Xavi.
Thiago is too young, and in 2 years time nobody will be able to act as a substitute for that position. unless Fabregas comes in.

  23. Lego_man says:

I agree, but in the international spotlight, Casillas will always get the first team spot because he is Real Madrid's captain.
after him are two bald Barca trained keepers who are just as good as he is if not better.

  24. barca4eva says:

i think i can help you…go on youtube search up for el clasico matches and then look at the one in november where casillas got five and valdes none….and if you still believe casillas is better then….then you can search up saves by valdes or maybe just watch a barca match where he made brilliant saves….there's no way casillas is better than valdes

CONGRATS VALDES ON YOUR 400 GAMES …HOPE THERE ARE MANY MORE

Let's put it this way… if she ever liked Madrid, the feeling is surely gone after the game at Mestalla, thanks be to the worthless scum otherwise known as Madrid fans.
