Pep Guardiola will rest 13 players from the first team for Tuesday’s Champions League match against BATE Borisov (20:45). The coach has discarded Valdés, Alves, Puyol, Abidal, Mascherano, Keita, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc, Messi, Alexis, and Villa from his squad who will play in midweek.
The first team, who will rest on Sunday, will train on Monday, at 19:00 hours at the Camp Nou, in a session before the Champions League match. On this day, selected members of the first team will participate, including Pinto, Piqué, Fontàs, Maxwell, Thiago, and Pedro, as well as Cuenca. Also taking part will be reserve players Oier, Montoya, Bartra, Muniesa, Sergi Gómez, Rafinha, Dos Santos, Deulofeu, Riverola, Sergi Roberto, and Kiko Femenía.
The coach and Pedro will be present at the customary pre-match press conference.
Meanwhile, the 13 players rested on Tuesday will train that day, beginning a 10:30 at the Ciutat Esportiva, behind closed door.
