Song of the Day: Thiago and Valdes for the Esclerock 2011
FC Barcelona players Victor Valdes and Thiago took part in shooting a video clip for the song ‘The Rhythm’, promoting the third annual charity concert Esclerock 2011 organized by the Foundation GAEM (Group Affected with Multiple Sclerosis). The concert aims to raise funds to help finance research projects in medicine which aim is to find cure for multiple sclerosis. Valdes and Thiago didn’t hesitate to engage in the cause and they actively participated in the filming of the video which will promote the event in various media that the media give a boost to the event. this is really great! i love it just for itself, but also other reasons.
for the past 4 years i have suffered with a neuro-immune illness that makes me disabled and has made me lose my job, my home, many activities, and also friendships. (it is actually much like MS – a crippling condition that affects the nervous system and many other parts of the body.)
i can say with a lot of confidence that it must mean so much to the people who know and love FC Barçelona to have the players participate in this video and support their cause. It is really very kind of them to use their time that way.
by the way, i never watched sports before i became ill, and since my friend turned me on to futbol i really really love it. it has made my life so much better, even though i can't do most of the things i used to enjoy. totalbarca makes a big difference, too. that is probably why i write a lot of appreciative comments – i have learned to be so thankful for anything that makes life a little sweeter. (and thanks for taking a moment to read this, too.)
