I was one of the people seriously doubting Ibrahim Afellay, not saying that he isn't good enough, but, as you already mentioned, that he doesn't fit into the system. He proved me wrong. And I'm so happy about that.
    Visca Ibi
    Visca Pep
    Visca Barca
and Visca the legitimate heir of Diego Maradona!

  2. Alcantara says:

Haha i loved this but personally i liked David Villa's great run down the left :)

  3. ziz says:

love how busket passes the ball to messi, and no one is making the run forward..and its like, wait, he's not going to do it all on his own is he?

  4. Dee says:

i don't blame him, it's a damn shame to play 3 defensive midfielders at home for a 2-legged affair. And still blame refs for their loss.

  5. Actually, he has been labelled as "total needing psychiatric help" by more than one after his post-match statement. He's loosing it big time.

  6. ziz says:

lol..dont kno whose assist was better, xavi to messi vs getafe or busquets against real madrid..they were both like, here do ur thing..funny no body tried running to help the poor dude.

  7. Alcantara says:

Sooo many positives from this game

    1. more chance of going to the final
    2. less pressure on the team and Pep
    3. David Villa having a great effect on the game (when he got on the ball)
    4. Messi scoring his 52 goal
    5. the defence looking more solid then ever with Alves, Masch Pique and Puyol
    6. we won and out played Madrid with out most affective/second most affective midfielder
    7. mourinho will probably be fired at the end of the season because not only has he lost to Barca but he did it playing in a way that the people in charge of Madrid really dont like
    8. Ronaldo is very frustrated with Madrid and their tactics
    9. the Copa really doesnt seem like much now
    10. We bounced back from losing in a FINAL
    11. Afellay was brilliant which means that we dont NEED fabregas and even if we do get him then we have a great midfield….
    Busquets
    Xavi
    Iniesta
    Mascherano
    Thiago
    Keita
    Afellay
    Fabregas?

    ……. i could name more positives :)

  10. eli says:

    hahah priceless.
i think ronaldo is the only player actually blaming madrid for this loss haha

  11. Mony says:

If it wasn't for Messi's individual second goal, I would have voted for the team, because the team did well to deal with this anti football garbage I keep seeing.

However, Messi is MOTM, second The team and special mention for Afellay.

Hopefully, all those people who don't like Afellay will start to warm up to him. He is young and has tremendous potential. He just needs time.

  12. Barcelona4ever says:

I know Guardiola is going to stay here in barcelona for the long-term.
He just renews just year by year to keep the squad motivated to continue sucess
Guardiola gave s.roberto his champions league debut to motivate him to continue to grow and eventually make it to the first team.
We got a team for the present and future.

  13. Thyr says:

I'm very confident with the victory. Though I would love to see Busquets and Pedro on the bench for 2-3 games. Why do they have to to act that unfair ? This Barca team is such a great unit and diving just can't be accepted as part of it. Give them some time to think about it and how this just isn't what "mes que une club" means, but the opposite if it.
    Visca Barca.

  14. Alcantara says:

Thats the first time ive seen Pedro go down easy/dive , but i think he did it to get one back at Marcelo for diving for that penalty, and yeah Busquets needs to learn, when he loses the ball in bad places he does down easy and sometimes is doesnt work and its little embarrassing

  15. ZicoElCule says:

    positive points :

    * Puyol's hair are shining again on the field, they were so bright that Christina was annoyed !
    * Messi's magic never fade away
    * the "Affelay" option is a really valuable one
    * Machete is solid on the back , his interceptions and game reading are top class
    * we really needed someone as physical as keita on the field, because he is not there just to pass and score, but to things in the most simple way, to give a strong physical presence especially in the air knowing that RM play like a second division team with aerial balls( meaculpa for Barca B and Betis who play with a far better style)
    * Villa is in form, he didn't scored but he had a really effective defensive presence and had his moment of glory
*Real Madrid's Lucha libre playing style cannot be protected anymore !!

    Negative Points :

*Busquets really annoyed me with his diving moments, i don't want him to become a reference on that field
*may be and i say maybe again, Pep should "Maybe" be more reactive when someone got sent off, i mean in a tactical way! but still it's a relative point that i'm discussing(knowing tha affelay came on the field !

    anyway VISCA EL BARCA !!!

    MOTM goes for Messi

  16. Mony says:

I agree, especially about Busquets, his diving annoys me and has for a long time now.

Pedro just isn't playing well right now, that's why I want him on the bench.

  17. smirky says:

Mou has started his harangue of the refs, of uefa, etc. Ronaldo also quoted to say that "if you know football, you know that was nothing" of Pepe's straight-legged, cleats-up kick of Dani A. Even the announcers were going on about how RM parked the bus and were not playing positively at all. it is amazing to me that Mou can claim that he is treated unfairly and be in such denial of the way his monsters, er, team members play. how can he deny every foul? it's preposterous and shameful.

in any case, a fine game by FC Barcelona. Thank heavens for no worse injuries today. that was my biggest worry.

oh, did anyone see Puyi with the ball under his shirt after the game – he looked like a happy pregnant lady, just stroking that big belly. it was so funny and joyful!

Messi's 2nd goal brought tears to my eyes. i never cried from watching a sport before. beautiful.

  18. Tomek says:

Anybody want to tell that Ronaldo is better than Messiah ?

  19. lol says:

    my thoughts exactly

  20. lol says:

barca didn't miss the boat, I remember reading that Pep himself refused to sign him.

  21. Aeon10 says:

And remember the time when Masch kicked the hell out of Pepe and he went rolling on the pitch like a big stone down a hill? I was so happy!

  22. MegaNo28 says:

Betting on the future instead of something concrete? Yeah you sound real smart

  23. aaron says:

    messi all the way

  24. Xavi_Pass says:

    Fancy sharing with the non-Spanish?

  25. Xavi_Pass says:

Aww poor Ronaldo. Those nasty Barca players not letting him join in the fun.

  26. minges86 says:

i cant go past messi but i think we cant discount the influence of our very own Guardiola for this win.
was that press conference a public display to fire up the team and our supporters? the way he set out our team, nothing hugely different (except puyol at LB) but the way he commanded they play…i barely remember Alves running forward (how we conceded in the coppa), very patient play…

against the bus we sometimes get frustrated and put all numbers forward, but i think Pep was very intelligent and said, u know what, we will play the way we play but more patient, let them come to us…we sucked them out and then hit them quickly, even with only 3 or 4 real attacking players against 6 defenders. every time villa, pedro were double teamed but we didnt bomb forward to attack TOO much…so in a way, we let our attackers attack, but kept a solid 4-5 at the back to defend the whole game. the sub of Affelay in was timed perfectly, and there wasnt any nervous changes. For me, the players performed super…but we cant forget how well Pep prepares these guys for battle

  29. mr. futbol azulgrana says:

    Octopus fanatic????? Hahahahahahaha!!!

    I would have never imagined!

  30. Ghassan Cule says:

It's not Messi at all, i can see the team was all in the shape and the spirit to win , but if i have to specify i will go to our DEFENSE!! Masherano, Pequie elcapitano , Alves OMG Busquets had a great night along with Kieta ..

its unfair to give the credit for Messi only, CryNaldo couldnt run as our defense owned him all the time !

    Visca El Barca

  31. Zahangir says:

    Barca is great.
    from BANGLADESH

  32. Ben says:

I voted busquets for his acting;) but seriously he should stop

  33. lalalala says:

of course we are not going to give the credit for Messi ONLY, football is 11 players' game and we are just voting for the best
the team are good but messi's performce was UNBELIEVABLE
