Man of the Match Poll Result Video: Andres Iniesta vs Sevilla

totalBarça brings you the winner of the Man of the Match poll against Sevilla FC – Andres Iniesta!

Several readers explained why they chose Iniesta as their Man of the Match. Some of their comments and the video are after the jump.

As reader Linda points out, “Iniesta….. he was great and he played with his soul till the end of the game….” Marc4barca gave the midfielder the nod, noting that ”Iniesta was the best player on the pitch, spreading passes all over and taking on players.” Amy: “I’m voting for Iniesta, not only for setting up the goal, he worked a lot, and also finally somebody tried to shoot from distance!”

WELL DESERVED Iniesta!!!! Like in Standford bridge he almost silent the crowd with an explosive shot in last minutes of the game…it's a shame the ball hit the post but We are proud of you ..and we are proud of the team. !!:)

Umm… it says the video is blocked? Shame, cause I wanted to watch this maestro :P

This has been an issue for a while now, but yesterday it became a little more obvious. We should take more distance shots. I know many of us do not realize it, but Xavi and Iniesta are actually decent shooters, it is just that we cannot see it because they never take the chance. Surely we dont have to walk the ball in 100% of the time… 98 is enough, right? :D

OT: What are the comments that were said last night on a Spanish radio that's upset the club and Rossell, something like Barca players use dope for performance enhancement. Pls let me know.

We're compiling some info on this, should have an article up later tonight with all the details. Hopefully.

you need to double click it to watch it on youtube

  9. Dustin says:

That doesn't fix it, on YouTube the error page states "This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Honestly, I think our frequency distance shooting is close to correct. I doubt shooting from more than 20 meters or so is better for us than retaining possession and looking for a better spot. Late in a game, if we are not winning, we should try shooting from distance because we don't have the time to look for the way through. This is exactly what Iniesta did (also, he did this against Chelsea to great effect).

Note that I'm not saying we have bad shooters (we have very good shooters), I just think most other teams/players shoot more because they have worse passing and combination play.

I've seen it. It was first reported in one of Madrid's rag papers, I think called Marca.(not sure, don't quote me on it)
Its a disgraceful attempt to deter us from our game and take away from our successes.
Shame on whoever came up with such false nonsense.

thats because of the song. i bet you are from germany. i don't know whats the deal with that. the thing is that i don'w even know which song is allowd and which one are not…sorry

  14. CanteraKid says:

The problem isnt long shots, it's shots of any kind. The players dont want to score bad enough. It's all fancy footwork and no results

It's starting look like the way Barca played in the last season before Pep. No one steps up to take shots and we are less effective in front of goal. Pep needs kick some butt to make these guys want to score again. He needs to reignite the flame, the hunger. I think playing guys like Keita could help. He has that positioning and will to score. Let the stars sit on the bench every now and then

cant watch it from america either:(

I got high before watching this :)
I enjoyed the draw; nice to see Bojan on point again, and Sevilla put us to the sword. Great work from Ghost-face killer! His shirt is mine come November.
Off-topic, but I saw the other post on Guardiola's classiness. Granted, he is probably leagues ahead of most others( principally, his moust gracious counterpart), his comment there is a very easy one to make if you're already in an advantageous position; standings and skill-wise.

  17. Ackieda says:

It's kinda ridiculous that they're saying this, because certain people in the football world were saying that same thing about the Spanish National side after the world cup. Oh how quickly we forget, bunch of hypocrites.
