  1. Millz says:

Guardiola and the team. While everyone was calling for Villa to be axed he knew the impact it would have psychologically. Villa has improved greatly. Obviously not at his best, but its getting better

  2. Jamal says:

You guys I have a question. If Busquests, Dani Alves and the other yellow card people get yellow carded against Levante, they are out for the Classico? Does anyone know he else is at risk of suspension?

    • ySchaub says:

pique got his fifth, I thought valdes did, too (you cant be that stupid to get a yellow card without intention…)

    • por que? says:

Why did Pique ask for the yellow? He could just simply ask Pep to rest him this Saturday, rite?

      • Write_theFuture says:

Well, then he would not play either way. If he would not play on saturday but have a clean sheet from yellow cards, or not play on saturday but still have the issue of getting his 5th yellow looming over him indefinitely, the former is obviously better. There are mixed opinions on the sportsmanship of it, but, hey.

  3. Arvine says:

Definitely Alexis Sanchez! He ran his ass off, tracked back, made some intercept, 2 goals.

  4. FCB_BD says:

Alexis… what a performance. As for best goal, I pick Messi's last.

  5. Ciumo says:

Alexis is definitely MOTM, but as for me, amazing game played Mascherano. He was great in the defense ! And I'm so glad that David has scored !

  6. Proffy says:

Alexis was man of the match for me, for his hard work and 2 goals, of which 1stwas a stunner, slightly after him is Xavi, he controlled game as usuall, but his, how Ray Hudson would say, SUPERHUMAN assist, was simply SUPERHUMAN! Great match, first 20 min were a bit sleepy, but awesome performance by Alexis, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa and Messi after all.. but everyone was brilliant.. only i hope they won't punish Pique for getting that 5th yellow card on purpose, because it was pretty obvious And I KNOW Mourinho will whine for that, and put pressure on La liga to punish him.. it would be a disaster, Pique is irreplaceable at this moment, and him and Mascherano should start this game! Visca Barca !!!!

    • Nik says:

I watched the replay more than 10 times to figure out if it was an assist or a bad ball control…..

It sure looks an assist to me, and it was absolutely out of this world…

By the way, Alexis as MOTM for me as well…

  7. l10nelmessi says:

Im so happy for alexis, now i know that barca didn´t spend theyr money for no reason! now we have messi and "ronaldo" in barcelona

  8. Naho says:

@ Jamal pique will miss Levante – hopefully they do not punish him for pushing a fifth coz that would be a bad omen – apart from that only Busi and Masch should be careful if they play against Levante

  9. jan says:

Was messi’s goal outside de 16m line?

  10. XavierHernandezCreus says:

    Alexis Alejandro Sanchez Sanchez :)

  11. ySchaub says:

alexis, by far! even if he wouldnt have scored the two goals (okok, the first one was simply magnificent, hands down!) he'd be MOTM! he was everywhere, always chasing down lost balls. pure talent! great game by him

  12. Tank says:

Alexis Sanchez for me. Was the decisive man in the decisive periode of the match.
I'm a big fan of our captain and guess that Pique favours his mate Carles as his partner in the heart of our defense, but there is simply no way 'round Maschete at the moment. Great game by him.
Also, we shouldn't forget that Iniesta did some pretty amazing things in the first half. Glad that he's back.
I'm pretty sure that the backheel-flip by Xavi happened somewhat by accident, but nevertheless our passing game is always better with him on the pitch. Legend of the game he is.

  13. BenOz says:

Only Busquets is in danger. Poor form from Pique to waste time to get suspended…why cant Pep just rest him?

  14. ThaCule says:

Both Alexis Sanchez and Javier "El Jefecito" Mascherano.

  15. Mony says:

MOTM – no doubt it should be Alexis. He is gaining his match fitness and starting to find his form. Still not completely match fit as yet but great goals.

Mascherano was the next best. He stopped everthing. Iniesta – Welcome back!, So happy to have him back. He was awesome.

The team had some trouble but they were able to win. Thiago and Cesc need to do better when they come on and Keita needs to stop fouling so much.

  16. MiKi Cule says:

Disappointing attitude and news have nothing With our Club.So I'm nevery hapy coz other team lost but because my team Won

  17. melissa_fcb says:

without a doubt the man of the match is sanchez

  18. ibrahim says:

i think what pique did is not good for football

  19. ibrahim says:

pique should be punished by pep

  20. barca says:

sanchez and macherano in my opinion

  21. LM10 says:

So GLAD Alexis is regaining form, I told you guys on the day of Getafe match he'd eventually be back didn't I :D

    • vonbelle94 says:

Sorry bro… but there are over thousands of people who comment here…. we have better things to do than to remember what YOU say!!

  22. ibrahim says:

ostap i am also a cule so keep mute and allow me

    • Tank says:

I basically think you're right. I don't think Pique should be punished by Pep, but I'd prefer if we stay away from any form of bad sportsmanship. And that was bad sportsmanship. Yes, worse things have happened on a football pitch but still, that's no excuse for unfair play.

  23. LM10 says:

Btw, I didn't watch the match, anyone wanna tell me why all these ppl are upset with Pique?

    • Tank says:

It looks very much like he has provoked a yellow card so that he's not in danger of being suspended against Madrid…

      • LM10 says:

Since when is that a new practice or anything to get upset over? Both Barca and Madrid's players have been doing that for clasicos for quite a while now…

        • Fenderek says:

Because when two Real Madrid players did that last year- everybody was going on and on and ON how this is bad, how terrible etc. Here, on this website. Now apparently it's not worth getting upset about…

…funny though, if Pepe or Cristina did just that- would it be the same, would people saying "they should be punished" get thumbs down?

          Hypocritical. That's all.

          • LM10 says:

I had absolutely no problem with that either lmfao. Let them be full strength and let us be full strength, then only will we witness a truly spectacular Clasico.

If anything, it should be shit like Mou's comments or sideline antics that should be punished, not intentional yellows.

  24. Hexacampeon says:

alexis fits perfectly in our style. he´s great technically, fast and works really hard to recover the ball. he was everywhere today on the pitch. for that reason, i prefer him at the moment over villa. mascherano is outstanding in the defense. in the clasico, we need our best defence to stop real madrids counter attacks. mascherano is great in interceptions. puyol is self-evident and you can´t bench "shakira boy" either. so, i think alves-mascherano-piqué and puyol as left back would be ideal. furthermore, i think the most important thing in our game is creativity. against madrid we should play in the midfield with busi, xavi and fabregas and up front iniesta on the left wing, then messi and alexis on the right. the point is, messi, iniesta and fabregas can switch position among each other and this would confuse madrid.

my starting line up would be: Valdes, alves, mascherano, piqué, puyol, busi, xavi, fabregas, iniesta, messi and alexis!

  25. Nasser says:

Anyone else think pep looks really tired and worried.. I was thinking Tito is having a bad effect on the team.. His illness must be serious ..

    • vonbelle94 says:

I noticed same thing but was scared to say it… Pep looked really tired today, i dont think its cuz of Tito, its just too much work and pressure… that guy has done a lot for us… thank God he gets some break in Christmas… wait a sec… Club world cup!!! ugh

  26. Nasser says:

Hope Tito is back and healthy for the Classico

  27. Write_theFuture says:

Sanchez was brilliant, best player by a longshot. And not even counting the goals, even though they were incredible, especially the first (wow!) He worked his ass off, was back defending right next to Abidal countless times, won the ball both in his and the opponents' half, and beat his man plenty of times, as well has having some good passes.

Xavi was pretty good today too. His passing was shaky at first, but so was the whole team's and he nagged 2 assists. Accidental sideways backheel rainbow assist ftw.

Villa is back. I am sorry for doubting him or complaining. He has obviously shown that despite his age and form, he still has a ton to offer, and if he just regains completely his confidence and form he will be unstoppable. He had plenty of great dribbles, and a lot of chances. I think he should be played more centrally more often, with Messi just behind him, it makes the best of his strengths.

Mascherano was a beaaaaaaaaaast. He is the absolute king at stopping counterattacks. Who would think that he was a center midfielder 2 years ago. His tackling prowess is unmatched in the squad, I can't believe how we aren't suffering AS much without Puyol. Masche is your answer.

Messi was sharper today. Cesc was great too. Thiago was a little less consistent than usual, but no problem. I love watching Pique go forward. Alves bossed the right wing. And I thought Pep's lineup and tactics were top notch today, tbh I was getting a little anxious with all the mad scientist, kin-ky, psychopath experimenting :D

  28. Anonymous_69 says:

Happy everyone thinks the same way I do: Mascherano and Sanchez were easily the best! It is hard to notice when he is playing, because he stops the attacks before they even begin, but we are so much more vulnerable without him. It might be hard to imagine, but if we didn't start him today, our defense would be under immense pressure from a very fun Rayo side. So many times they looked as if they could create danger, but Masch was always there to stop. Masch might not seem as brilliant as Pique and Puyol, but our team concedes so many less chances when he is playing.

  29. kokobarca says:

I guess it is all good for the fans after a win, but after a loss it is a whole other story. I understand you.

The way Rayo pressed at the beginning is the way Madrid is pressing the last 2-3 games against us. And from what I saw we have some problems distributing the ball and getting it out from our half. I think Pep is aware of that and something has to be done. When other teams face something like this, their defenders usually go close the center line and than the gk takes the free kick. But not Barca. we still stick to our strategy, which may or may not be a good thing, and sometimes it get's complicated and we lose the ball, giving the opposition a chance to score. It happened against Rayo and will probably happen against Madrid. As the legendary Beckenbauer once said, sometimes it is a good thing to just hit the ball as hard as you can.

All in all it was a good victory, but they will have to work their asses off to replicate this victory on the road. And we now what Barca is capable off, magic

  30. Karan Dewan says:

Man of the match Alexis Sanchez and Mascherano was so good today and as many have pointed out in their posts he stops attacks before they begin he is to be valued.

Alexis is a hard worker and talent and for those of you who were anxious about him you should know that any player will take time to fit into a team like Barcelona where football is played in a different way to all other teams. We as fans have to be patient and appreciate rather than speculate and doubt.

Villa 2 is a great player and will find his form soon but its clear that he is liked by all his team mates and his coach for his work ethic, yes he needs to improve his finishing but rather than doubting him we need to support him.
I believe barca will win the la liga, this team as Pep has said before has always stood up to challenges and will rise again to a huge challenge they are facing at the moment. Lets support them guys
    Visca Barca Visca Catalunya

  31. kcblaugrana says:

Sanchez, Masch, Iniesta in that order

  32. omogi says:

hmmm maybe I'm a bit biased, but I think last night Messi almost seemed like changing role with Xavi, him being deep-lying playmaker and our maestro as an assist provider..I mean, look at the 1st and 2nd goal!! Both of them also starts from Messi to Xavi and ends in Alexis, right? So for me, Messi and Xavi along with Alexis was MOM for attacking, and MOM for defense none other than Mascherano…
