I'm glad Dani finally got picked. I hope he benches Maicon!

    • Marc4barca says:

he's been benching maicon since the world cup ended.

      • Hala Madrid says:

I love Marcelo! Is he starting?

        • Ken says:

Yes !!! I love Marcelo too!! He's been great with both Real Madrid and the Brazil National Team since forever! And I'm sure he'll get to the starting 11 cuz you know, there's no one better than him in the LB position :/

P.S. I changed my mind. Marcelo suxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

        • Barca says:

no he's not even in the squad.

        • Joker says:

Nope, cause he didn't even get in the squad.

        • Pique_Power says:

you can watch Adriano instead, he is way better than Marcelo who is not even selected in the squad. Haha madrid

          • Hala Madrid says:

I was just asking! No need to insult him.

          • fabs says:

why is a guy whos calling himself "Hala Madrid" in an only barca forum or rather a site only for barca fans with barca news
no offense but i mean, i dont go to a madrid forum and call myself "visca barca" thats kinda … ridiculous

          • frank says:

why not go ask in your fucking madrid blog.por que?por que?dumbass

          • Hala Madrid says:

Please don't call me a dumbass

        • Frank aruajo says:

marcelona he is not even on the squad lol
THe coach does not like players with attitude unless the players name is neymar.

        • Messilona says:

Marcelo doesn't want to play for his country. That is why he is faking an injury. So, he doesn't get called up.

  2. Pique_Power says:

ah… Dani Alves got new hair style, very nice indeed.

  3. omri says:

I don't like the new hair style.
I like him as he is.

  4. thomas says:

can anybody please tell me what what hour the match begins (for my cowntry italy) ?

  5. Hannibal says:

We might not sign anyone. Lets say goodbye to the champion.

    • Joker says:

      Go cry under your pillow.

    • andres_taufeeq says:

come on dude. you only need a positive thinking and that gonna make your life better, be patient and see what gonna happen.

    • justine says:

u are stupid, foolish and mad gloryhunter.GO fuck off with mourinho,u guys fits each other perfectly.BITCH

    • Zebra says:

Are you the same dude who said 'mark my words, we won't win anything this year beacuse Guardiola didn't recruit all the superstars in the world'? If you are, plz continue. I need the comic relief.

      • FootballingMind says:

^– the proper response to such talk. :D I'm happy we aren't rushing to any signings, and I'm sure we will pick up a few necessary players, especially if we lose Bojan and others.

    • Heval says:

I've noticed that more and more people have started writing stupid comments on this site. We already got the best XI in the world, what else do you want? We'll do great with or without new "super stars". All we need are solid bench warmers.

      • @baonerges says:

i personally want peter crouch because i was reading on goal.com about how he's the next ibrahimovic and WE HAVE TO GET HIM BEFORE MADRID /sarcasm

    • Hala Madrid says:

Yes! Madrid will be the new winners! :D
      G.F.

  6. Koc says:

Go Dani, go Adriano! I hope Adriano gets some playing time as i am not afraid that Alves wouldnt start.

  7. fabs says:

anybody knows a stream with english commentator?

  8. Carla says:

I hope Mexico wins in case Argentina doesnt. ^_^

  9. Cule says:

    What's Brazil lineup?

  10. Cule says:

Seriously whatsup with the Brazil players haircuts?

  11. rooney27 says:

dani alves was sooo good a moment ago. Brazilian attack is swift and direct. Liking it. Enjoying it.

  12. cheesestake says:

does anyone have a link to the skySports HD stream?

  13. rooney27 says:

my gosh, why are brazilian playing like they have been playing together for 10 years? Their passing and understanding are like Xavi and Iniesta almost all the time. I would say Brazil and barcelona are equally fun to watch. Cant imagine if these brazilians played together like spainish players did.

    • 123 says:

its because of the unorganised venezuela

    • FootballingMind says:

I wouldn't say they are at (or near) the Xavi-Iniesta level, but they are playing very energetic, dynamic football, which is wonderful to watch. I wonder if they can keep up this intensity for the full match. That being said, they have yet to put the ball in the net, and they are playing against one of the weaker sides in the tournament. Given how Argentina struggled against Bolivia, I'm not sure how much I like their chances (though I'm fully behind them!).

  14. troy says:

    dani's assist!!! ^ ^ but no goal from pato@@

  15. anti-cesc says:

Venezuela's defence is so poor. Too bad Bolivia didn't play this way.

  16. boriFCB says:

Barca theres your LB : ANDRE SANTOS

  17. max says:

why do many of you not like to admit that argentina just cannot play as good as brazil? Messi is incredible but the teamwork and understanding between players, historically proven, can never reach brazil's standard. Dont blame the two opponents they play in their first game, bolivia and venezuela. They should be as bad as each other to brazil and argentina. Messi really needs to be like maradona if he is to win a world cup. He cant expect his individualistic teammates to help him like in barcelona.

    • cheesestake says:

we'll talk after the end of copa america.
we still don't know which team will play better.

and don't generalize "many of you", because there are "many others of you". :)

    • twoleftfeet says:

It's a real shame, I sometimes feel, that Messi decided to play for Argentina instead of opting for the Spanish NT. Unless he wins the world cup Maradona-style, the Argies will never accept him. They like to look at '86 while forgetting everything else–that Maradona played in three other world cups, for example. When Argentina won they all said it's because of Maradona. When Argentina lost, it was because Maradona couldn't do everything on his own. Literally Diego could fart in their faces and they'd find ways to love him for it. Messi, despite being perhaps even better than Diego, doesn't stand a chance. Can you imagine what Spain would be like today with Messi?

      • max says:

yes, it would just be a barcalona if messi were in spain NT, maybe a little less good since ramos took dani's place and capdevilla took abidal's place.

      • Erich says:

Messi can win the next three world cups and in Argentina they would still say: "Yeah, but…"

Messi can't win in Argentina. The critic after the first match was laughable once again. He was like always the best player on the pitch. I wish he would retire from international football and concentrate on Barça. ;-)

        • RickyRoss says:

i dont know where you get the critics from? he was voted as man of the match in argentina.

    • twoleftfeet says:

And btw I've been a fan of the albiceleste since 1990.

    • k-ondemnation says:

weird that you said that…messi was incredible to me on the first match. if it wasnt becoz of his build up after foul, kun would have not scored that goal..besides he assisted on mess-ing around outside and inside the penalty box, neyway..

  18. anti-cesc says:

There must be something wrong with Brazil, if Lucas from Liverpool is in the starting eleven.

  19. barcafanir says:

OT: just saw on barcastuff: "Having received an improved 38.7M offer last week, there is an acceptance at Arsenal that the Cesc story is nearing a conclusion. [guardian].Arsenal expect Cesc to return for pre-season training this week despite the likelihood he won't be at the club when EPL starts. [guardian]

  20. jpaul, Lagos says:

i hope Argentina wins the tournament.. Brazil can wait.

  21. skanjos says:

is it me or the brazilian side looks exactly as the argentinian team… ganso /ramires/lucas are not having a good game and cant be saved by neymar/robinho/pato who are running all the field to create space and chances. the mid right now sucks, ganso is out of the game, ramires is afraid to get the ball and when he does he loses it,lucas is looking good only on defence….

till now the team doesnt play well and i think the midfield is the problem,i would sub ramires asap. thats why i was saying a player like thiago would shine in this team, imagine what he could do if he played here instead of ramires/lucas…….

    • barcafanir says:

i think midfiels is good, they just missing killing finish…. Alves created so many chanches, but nobody like Messi there…

  22. Tony says:

I don't see Neymar throwing his hands in the air and moaning like Ronaldo whenever he gets fouled in this match. Why you people hate him so much is beyond me. The kid is 19 and you can obviously see his talent.

    • Igor says:

      Neymar=OVERRETED= FACT
      just accept it

    • Cule says:

He has not in this game, but in some other games he dives or arguing a lot so it's no wonder why people think he has attitude problems. Like with Busquets he only dives against Mourinho based team so like maybe 1 or 2 times a season but still people always think he's a diver.

    • RickyRoss says:

the thing about neymar is that he only acts like a child in Santon but in the natonal team he plays as an adult i think out of respect of his teammates. you know hes the star in Santos so thats why he acts like that

  23. vganguly says:

Pato… simply wow!!!! What ball control… amazing

  24. osie says:

this guy ramiers is shit and neymar is overrated and wats all the fuss about this ganso? real players out there is dani and lucio, sliva and santon.

    • Tony says:

Neymar is overrated?. Ok..please explain why he is overrated. Anyone can come on a chatboard and make comments. How about you explain.

19 yrs old..starting for Brasil and he's overrated. I guess you know more than all those scouts worldwide.

      • Igor says:

Why did this guy do in Football?
I am brazilian and i can to tell you…Robinho whe he was 19 years old was MUCH BETTER THAN NEYMAR and right now i ask to you
        WHO IS ROBINHO TODAY?
The people can't see a young guy scoring some goals or dribbling they already speaking:Thys guy is the next Messi, is the next Maradona next Pelé…

        • Tony says:

I asdo recall them calling Pato OVERRATED during the U20 WC in Canada…..so much for that prediction huh?.

      • 123 says:

couldnt crack this shitty venezuelen defence for 45 minute?then how can u say that he is next pele??

    • twoleftfeet says:

You're being unfair I think. It's only 45 minutes. I mean, if you decided to make up your mind on a single match, vs Bolivia for example, you'd be right in saying that Messi is overhyped. Let's wait and see. I can't stand Brazil's team, but they're clearly better than our dear albiceleste as a team.

    • cheesestake says:

lucio is pretty solid, as usual. but ganso is doing quite well too. ramires was invisible, but neymar was decent – i'm talking only about the 45 min. from this game (!)

there is fuss b/c these guys have lots of potential to become great players. whether they will work hard and become legends, or whether they will spend time drinking in clubs w/ chicks, we will see :D

  25. Tony says:

I'm waiting for one of these people who most likely have never stepped on a football pitch ever to explain why Neymar is overrated. Tell me what part of his game is overrated?. Tell me what he needs to do since you know so much about football and you obviously are being hired by the BIG clubs to scout players..

I'm sure you won't because it's easy to come on a board and say some player is OVERRATED.

    • skanjos says:

i cant believe people who are watching this game bash neymar, together with alves and thiago silva they are the best right now.

    • Who says:

He’s overrated because he’s unproven. He has undeniable talent but also his attitude is questionable. Once he plays in a tougher league and shows a good mature attitude, we’ll be able tojudge him better. These are all opinions. I personally thinkhes overrated and will be similar to robinho.

  26. love me barca says:

by watching brazil game my opinion changed about neymar.
Who do say that neymar is selfish, bad attitude, dont work with team, dive?
I watch that his technic is for team and he didnt dive for half time!
    Who is agree with me?

    • Ghost_of_Sparta says:

      I think he just dived…

      • skanjos says:

i didnt see a dive, instead i see him suffer 2-3 heavy kicks and never turn to the opponent to argue…

        • Ghost_of_Sparta says:

The fact that he doesent argue is 'cuz he still doesent have the authority of greater player, plus he looks weak… To many people are watching, he doesent want to ruin his fragile image…

          • skanjos says:

cause once you become a great player you can start arguing with the other players and the referees….. sigh , plus he looks weak??? fragile image??? seriusly m8 stop reading only catalunya newspapers.the kid is the best player on the field right now and the only one that is a threat.dani alves plays amazing too but he cant connect with his right winger.

          • Ghost_of_Sparta says:

xD Don't read catalan news, heck dont even know spanish…

            The point was:
Yes he looks weak in the sense of authority, and no GREAT players dont argue, i meant authorative, someone like Xabi, if you know what i mean…

Only Dani played well, Neymar had too manu passing mistakes imo…

Im not better than them so that i can judge their performances, but in the terms of personality, i am. Never would dive, NEVER.

  27. powerrangers says:

    this game is getting boring.

    • tete1090 says:

I was expecting an exciting match with brazil probably winning 2-0. but i was wrong. its boring.

  28. Joker says:

It's the first time I watch Ganso, who is supposed to be the next big thing and I have to ask: am I missing something? That guy is so slow that if I didn't know how old he is I'd say about 35+.

    • Danko_mkd says:

haha so true, i was thinking the same…. Ganso is too slow to play in Europe against European big teams

      • love me barca says:

i disagree with u about ganso.

His passes are killer like xavi. And for his slowly he can train more and work on his phisical.then he will be 1 of the best.

    • Deev8 says:

He has been coming off an injury and isn't in form right now. I wouldn't say he has passes like Xavi but one day they might be able to get there. Just a bad game for him and no he is not injury prone this was his first pretty serious injury he is coming off.

  29. E4zyE says:

This guy Lucas who just subbed in is better then Neymar, Ganso…etc. He is going to be the Brazillian Maradona.

  30. cheesestake says:

disappointed. argentina at least scored a goal !! :(

  31. Tony says:

Neymar can obviously beat players. I would rather see him upfront with Pato. I've never liked the 1 striker system.

  32. Ackieda says:

Well well, look at that, the mighty Brazil drew there first match, and brazil fans want to talk about Argentina……..smh

  33. Messi10Villa7 says:

Don't understand Brazil's starting XI. Ramires and Lucas in the centre is just too defensive for a team like Brazil, kinda the same way Argentina played both Mascherano and Cambiasso against Bolivia. Brazil should have played one or other and played a more creative player in ones place.

  34. twoleftfeet says:

Let's not get carried away. This is the new international football, where it's a sin for both teams to attack. Argentina found that out on Friday when Bolivia basically played with a 5-4-1. International competitions are becoming a joke. I still detest Brazil's national football team.

  35. Tony says:

I love the people who come and say a player is garbage because of one game. These guys are playing for Brasil while you sit in front of a computer and try to act like Super Pundit..hilarious.

If a person had never seen Messi play before, I don't think they would be calling him the worlds best after the game against Bolivia.

Ganso played poorly..happens to everyone. I saw Pato do nothing in a U20 tourny but look marvelous just a year later in Serie A with Milan against older and better players.

Some of you are just trolls.

    • twoleftfeet says:

I agree. This tournament is long and it's hard playing football when all the other team cares for is not to lose.

    • Joker says:

Yeah except that Messi has proven himself against the world's best defenses while Ganso hasn't even played in Europe yet so I guess Copa America is something of a stronger test for him. No one said he's not a good player, just that he didn't do anything in this game to warrant the hype that surrounds him and speed is something that either you have or you don't. Should we not talk about football because we're not great players? Stop being stupid.

    • Igor says:

So nobody can to watch football, basketball, tennis, because they are playing and we are in front of the tv watching it…right?
So what do you do in a Barça(team of football) website?..hilarious.

    • Smooches says:

the people who voted you down got insulted by your comment :D . lol! i agree with you, its so easy to be an internet gangster

  36. DikoBarca says:

If Neymar continue to play like this, I'm pretty sure that after Copa America nobody will pay more than 20 million euros for him.

IMO, In this match he just redefine what the meaning of overrated.

Hope he'll improve his game in the forthcoming matches, just to make this tournament more interesting.

    • Ghost_of_Sparta says:

Completly right, i think our Thiago is waaaaay beter than this dancer, seriosly, didnt show a glimpse of class footbaling let alone show that he is worth 35 mil =/

      • helado says:

i hope you realise that you cant compare those 2 as both are COMPLETELY different players right? now YOU are overhyping thiago. you never know if thiago will end up like Gai or Gio dos Santos or iago falque

        • Ghost_of_Sparta says:

Thiago is way classier that sort of stands, and theres no way Thiago will end up like that…
I still think in a year of now Neymar will be forgoten, or nobody normal will like him… This second case is that he bocomes the type of player like CR…

  37. Titi says:

I wonder what all the people who were saying that Brazil will easily stroll past Argentina and win the Copa after the Argentina game have to say now? They couldn't even manage to score once against the Venezuelan team that Spain thrashed 3-0 a couple of days ago.

  38. Proffy says:

how pathetic to call other Cules idiots.. YOU gotta have attitude problem!

    • Truth says:

No they are not idiot. They are thumbs up or thumbs down MAFIA depending on the irrational matters.

  39. frank says:

neymar may be a good player, but u aint josep guardiola,so dont expect any stupid neymar at barca

  40. Igor says:

    I agrree with you
I think Neymar is better than Pele playing soccer
Better than Michael Jordan playing Basketball
    Better than Federer playing Tennis
Better than Floyd Mayweather Jr fighting… ;)

    • Thiago#4 says:

Neymar can become the new Robinho..
and I don't mean that in a good way!!

Robinho, Maicon and Neymar are the most overrated players in the world!!

      • LeónDragón dAz says:

"Neymar can become the new Robinho..
and I don't mean that in a good way!!"

exactly what i thought too, as they lack physical strength, needed to compete at a high-level…they often compare neymar to ronaldo, what seems to me ridiculous, as ronaldo was a beast, pure athlete and not the lightweight neymar is…

    • LM10 says:

      You're wasted.

  41. Tony says:

I will still take Brazil over Argentina. Aentina should have lost last night if not for Ramos totally blowing a 1 on 1 chance when his side was 1-0 up.

    • Dude says:

Dude, it's just your opinion. What if Lionel Messi's passes were to be finished..?
      - Two assists to Tevez that couldn't find the perfect finish.
      - Messi's cross to Milito and he headed wide.
      - One assist to Lavezzi and he shot wide.
      - Cambiasso missed an open goal opportunity.
      - The second chance Aguero had, the one that the goalie blocked. He could have passed the ball to Lionel Messi who was unmarked.

Argentina players were just too selfish and beside that Bolivia could have conceded 4 goals.

After all, Bolivia's goal was just a lucky goal.
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft6Q2G_xN7U

      • helado says:

there is no "IF" in football. and a lucky goal is a goal. the fact is that argentina have a complexion against brazil period. brazil will and have always been better than argentina. the numbers speaks for themselves

      • Lobo says:

        you are 100% right dude………..thanks

  42. Tony says:

Just like I thought none of these want to be pundits and managers can't explain why Neymar is overrated..just spewing nonsense.

You call Neymar stupid. What has Neymar ever said about Barcelona or any of it's players in a bad way?. You all hate Neymar…what has he done?.

    • blackd0t says:

the fact that neymar is 19 and already kicking ass seems to be bothering the neymar haters. the occasional diving seems like a factor too. but to be perfectly honest. who DOESNT dive from time to times in todays football? its like throwing rocks in a glasshouse to hate on neymar because of diving when some of our OWN players dive quite frequently; alves, busquets (NO he didnt just dive in the clasico), and i have even seen messi grabbing his face in agony and falling to the ground from a light push to the chest. EVERY team has some black sheeps that dive. EVERY TEAM.

      • Barca says:

no one hates neymar , some of us or I think that people are making a big deal out of him like he already is a superstar now and in what match did you see messi dive?

      • Owenn10 says:

wtf are you talking about messi diving? your a black sheep cule… :D

    • guest says:

nobody hates him we just don't know why he's rated so highly. I don't see why he deserves 35 to 40Million. Please explain to me why he deserves so much money

      • Tony says:

Is he the one asking to be bought for 35 to 40 million?. It's his club not him..

        • Banana Republic says:

Give it a rest with this Neymar thing . You obviously think he is a very good player but some people may not rate him that high . Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion . We don't have to agree with other people's opinions all the time but everybody should RESPECT others' opinions even if they don't agree with them . I personally think that Neymar is a talented player with a bright future but I'm NOT crazy about his attitude or him as a person . This is my opinion . I could be wrong but I don't have to justify it or force it on others . If NOBODY agrees with me , that is fine too . I have NO problem with that . Opinions are NOT facts . They are very personal and they could be either right or wrong !!

    • Titi says:

      http://www.worldsoccer.com/news/santos_coach_fire
      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article
"The gifted forward also argued with captain Edu Dracena on the pitch after being told not to take a penalty kick and he is said to have then refused to pass the ball to any of his team-mates during the closing stages of 4-2 win against Atletico-GO.
Santos boss Dorival Junior was visibly shaken after the game and said: 'In seven years as a coach, I've never had such a problem with indiscipline."

  43. ElTank says:

I love how everyone discredits brasil and totally forgets about a very solid venezuelan team that played their hearts out.

  44. Lobo says:

brazil's a great team but i was too busy watching uruguay vs uzbezkistan u-17 on the next channel that i later found out brazil slack because of neymar's rooster head! i hope it goes that way the next game if that "rooster" is stlll in starting XI. sorry alves. brazil u-17 was way better hours later….

  46. lol says:

    Montoya – Fontas – Bartra – Muniesa

Thiago – Roberto – Dos Santis

    Deulofeu – Dongou – Muniesa

We don't need any new signings at all!!!
But Cesc+Alexis would be very nice imo!!!
