OFFSIDE: New season, New cars!
FC Barcelona’s official site reports that the clubs vehicle sponsor Audi handed out new cars to the first team squad on Thursday. Audi distribute the vehicles at the start of every season and have been an official sponsor of the team since 2006 for the vehicle sector. Both entities share values which have allowed them to move into the vanguard of their respective sectors and lead them on a world level. These values have been the basis of the agreement and helped to strengthen the relationship between the two.

The players were able to enjoy the sporty, dynamic new Audi A1 in an event held this lunchtime at the Castellolí circuit, when they picked up the keys to their new cars. The players also received a sporting drivers course where they were able to experience the manoeuvrability and ease of use of the new Audis, as well as the elegance of the new Audi A7 Sportback.
Audi A7 for Xavi and Piqué
The undoubted star of the new cars was the Audi A7 Sportback, Audi’s new coupé, which Xavi, Piqué, Pedro and Sergio Busquets all chose as their car for this season.

Club President Sandro Rosell, the Director of Audi Espanya, Manuel Caballero, Audi AG Marketing Director Lothar Korn and Volkswagen-Audi Espanya President Ludger Fretzen were amongst other club and Audi representatives at the event and Sr Caballero explained that for his company: “it is a pleasure to have players from the most successful club in recent years as ambassadors for our cars”.

No they don't keep the cars unless they buy them. Every season they get offered new cars by Audi (as they are our main vehicle sponsor) and return the old ones back to them. By accepting a car from Audi, the players are required to drive them to matches @ the Camp Nou (and training as well I believe). Basically, they are advertising Audi's brand by driving their cars.
The players are not required to take a car and it's only optional. It has also been reported that Pep has refused to take a car from the sponsor in the past and this year again because the other members of the technical team don't have the privilege of getting one.

Haha! Manchester United get the same deal as us I believe. Audi is their official vehicle sponsor as well and Rooney drives the Audi RS6 Saloon.

I wouldnt say so. These players earn millions in a year, so one could assume they'd be all driving Ferraris. The premier league players surely are. I still think it's nice in a way. Shows how our guys are less materialistic
