Xavi voted IFFHS World’s best Playmaker 2009
Madrid based sports paper Marca has today reported that FC Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez is voted World’s best Playmaker of 2009 by the IFFHS.
Xavi, who was also voted the best in 2008, tops the ranking followed by another Barcelona player, Lionel Messi. Real Madrid’s Kaka was the third best, with yet another Barcelona midfielder, Andres Iniesta, fourth.
The Terrassa-born Catalan player will join other winners of the year 2009 in London on 1 February 2010 to accept their awards at the IFFHS Gala.
Other Spanish winners are the Football Club Barcelona – Best Club, Pep Guardiola – Best Club Coach, Vicente del Bosque – Best National Coach, and Iker Cassilas – Best Goalkeeper

Of course,Xavi it's mes que un jugador,we all know that.
Visca Barca! Mes que un club!
Xavi, simply the best. I hope he remain this level for a couple of years more.
As usual…. Valdes plays second to Cassilas – a shame!!!! Valdes is one of Barcas players that have gone up many levels since Pep arrived. How many times has he saved our ass in the last 2 years??? Dozens!!!
kaka is 3rd? whatever did he do last ssn?? iniesta should be #3.
totally agree… he came third because he was good 2, 3 years ago.. he lives on his name..
Iker Cassilas – Best Goalkeeper, crap, Casillas conceded so many goals and his team did not even pass the round of 16, i would rather select van Der Sar who was able to play 8 matches without conceding a goal in the league and getting to the final, casillas will not even make my top 5. FIFA and co should give us a break,
Enter text right here!
Kaka was crap in 2009 if you compare him to Xavi, Iniesta or Messi. He shouldn't be on that list!
Congrats to Xavi!!
Congrats to Xavi, fully deserved. Makes me laugh when I see Kaka is mentioned before Iniesta considering he didn't do anything last season, the reason I believe he came 3rd is because he's a former- World Player of the Year and IFFHS didn't want every Barca player to be in a podium finish.
hmm just occurred to me, why wasnt this pic in our " caption this" segment?
very very love you xavi. my lov is barcelona.(mes que un club
