Xavi: “Arsenal delaying the Inevitable”

Xavi: “Arsenal delaying the Inevitable”

The arrival of Fabregas back to the Camp Nou is “inevitable” says Barcelona midfield Xavi Hernández (30), according to an interview given to English sporting tabloid Daily Express. Having told his fellow Catalans that he wants a move back to his boyhood club during their successful World Cup campaign this summer, Xavi thinks it only a matter of time before Arsenal give in to the desires of their captain. ”Arsenal need to understand they are only delaying the inevitable: if we don’t manage to get his signature this season then Arsenal only really have him on loan for a year.”

This statement, coming from such a senior member of the Barça squad, will no doubt add to the already strained relationship between the two clubs. Several months of on-again-off-again negotiations have not amused Arsenal coach Arsène Wenger, who has made public his displeasure with the Fabregas transfer saga. While Barcelona have had a €35 million bid rejected by the Arsenal board this summer, it appears that both the club and Fabegas are looking to try to wrap things up before the close of the summer transfer window. If this proves to be an impossibility, and with the current language issuing from the Arsenal board it appears that this may be the case, Barcelona will no-doubt have their financial team work out a deal acceptable to Arsenal over the course of the coming season. Either way, Arsenal must realize that having an unhappy Fabregas lead the team is perhaps not the best morale booster in the dressing room for the London club’s young and impressionable first team members.

I wonder – when Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford in 2008, they loved him. I wonder if the same will happen with Cesc.

i wonder what this really means, has fabregas the ability to break his contract next year?under bosman rule. cause i read that xavi said that arsenal next year will have no saying in his departure and i know cesc has 5year contract.

xavi and all barcelona players really want fabregas to come, cesc wants to play to barca next year thats clear.its not easy to find a player that fits the squad that well and have a great friendship with half the squad.

wenger really cant do anything than accept a deal, believe me fabregas at arsenal this year will be bad, very bad.wenger will sell in winter if fab stays now. it was sad last year when the filipe deal was off and the player was left devastated, now if cesc doesnt come i think it will be worse, when a player demands an exit a solution must be found ,you shouldnt keep a disapointed player in the team, heck we sold yaya this year, unarguably the best dm in the world…..
arsenal should stop being cheap and let the lad come to his home, its not only about the team, everyone that has seen fabregas in the world cup and in celebrations knows he is already homesick.

can't wait for arsenal to not give into the negotiations, then they realize that cesc isn't happy and his performance goes down.. then they have to sell him for a lower price!! lol, wouldn't that be funny??

already homesick. Yeah, i agree with ur comments but i believe he'll not come at least for this season. Next season is a sure bet. We'll get him, Arsenal will most likely go without a trophy and he'll hand in a transfer request.

and maybe arsene is mad cause the last game was against barca i know i would but maybe thats why arsene is mad about this idk optimism u can say but i think it is a possibility

Xavi needs to shut it. Stuff like this does not help the situation at all.

  13. krankuba says:

    xavi has a point.
they know they cannot keep him while his heart is in barca.
    give up, loosers….
and who the fuck you think you are to tell xavi to shut up..no matter is this true or not..show some respect!!

i love xavi but he really needs to stop with comments like this, it doesnt achieve anything except inflame an already difficult situation, i actually agree with rosell, this whole thing needs to get away from the front pages as our reputation has taken a hammering this summer and wenger will never back down when it has been made so public. barca players need to leave this alone and cesc needs to actually do something about it instead of sitting on the fence, hand in a transfer request or commit to arsenal, just please put an end to all this

    • FCB says:

Agreed. We are wasting valuable time by putting all our energy into this signing. Time that could be used to reinforce other more needed positions. Put an end to this already.

Off topic: I just read a redicules romour about Mourinho wanting to exchange Kaka for Zlatan. Well if this is true I would be very tempted, since Kaka are 10 times the player Zlatan is. I think Kaka and Messi would be able to create alot of goals together. Kaka is more of a team player than Zlatan, and at the same time is able to set his direct opponent with his speed. But if Zlatan is willing to stay I say give him another chance, he had a very poor first season but so did Henry, and he came back with a vengeance the second season and was part of some of the best football played by Barca. I actually think Henry gave our team something that none of the other players do, and he will be missed. Part of he reason we didnt played as good season 09/10 as we did 08/09 was Henry lack of motivation on the pitch and although Pedro did make up for some of that, he still isnt a player of Henrys level. I hope we buy someone with the same speed of Henry(When he was at his best) who is capable of bringing our left side up to par with our rigth side.

    • Samwise says:

villa is taking up the henry position, even if ibra doesnt play well we have pedro and bojan ready to step up, kaka is not what we need, same as cesc, would just be a luxury, ibra gives us alot of options as long as he doesnt mind be benched for some games, as its not fair on pedro to lose his place just because he isnt a star name.

      • Cule_999 says:

Will he or won't he ?" That is the sixty nine million dollar question, Sam ! Pedro by all accounts deserves the playing time and big game experience in this upcoming season.

        • FCB says:

Pedro has done great in the last year, and he sure deserves to get his amount of time on the pitch. But I still dont see him as a starter, and he still needs to be more consistent in his play. It seems like he is best when coming in off the bench. He dosnt perform at the same level every time, and alot of the games last year, he played and below average game but got attention for scoring the decesive goal, and that made people forget his poor otherwize poor performance. I see him as a good sub, but not a starter when every one is fit.

      • FCB says:

What options besides beeing a thread in the airial game. Pedro in the center of the frontline is not optimal. As I sees it, we have 4 players that can play in the middle if Zlatan stays (Messi, Bojan, Villa, Zlatan) but 2 of them are supposed to play the flanks (Messi, Villa/Bojan) If Zlatan leaves we have to buy another signing for the frontline, and I would actually prefer us signing one anyway.

  16. Anonymous_69 says:

Xavi need to realize that Cesc belongs to another club atm. He is being disrespectful by saying this. Just because Cesc is Catalan and because he was part of our youth team, that does not mean that we have a right to him that other clubs don't.

  17. Just a fan says:

If this is true our youth CM will be perish.

    God,help.
