  3. Mido_cule says:

Lol just after hours from Laporta saying that the player who wants to come here should express his desire,Cesc couldnt hide his desire.Lets now wait and see.No I am sure that he will wear the Barca shirt oneday but will it be this summer?I doubt.

    • Emily says:

that shit Wenger , Do u think he'll let his best player go by ?

      • The thing is that Wenger is a business man. He knows he needs to strengthen his squad in every line, except for the midfield. Arsenal has an over abundance of midfielders, but no real presence up front and a pisspoor back line. I mean Cesc is their leading goal scorer, by I think 10+ goals. I think Wenger can rationalize selling Cesc, if it means he can increase the aggregate strength in his side. (ie, a right wing worth a damn, second striker, goalie, and a handful of defenders.)

  4. warcelona says:

him and villa this season fingers crossed

  5. Adzic says:

Yes he will come i am sure,Xavi,Fabregas,Iniesta the deam come true

    • warcelona says:

oh that would be one hell of a midfield, would i be askin for to much to see ribery come aswell for or left wing?.im sure that would cost around 120 million for all 3 so forget i said that

  6. debe says:

So it will be Iniesta on the LW with Villa as striker and Messi in the hole?

    Xavi-Busi-Cesc
    - – - Messi – Iniesta
    - – - Villa – - –

With Pedro and Bojan as our alternatives up front and selling Ibra to City and loaning out Chygrynsky and recalling Botia? Is that the plan?

    • barcayute says:

iniesta is not a lw we need a true lw that can score

      • debe says:

With Cesc and Villa coming, I think our strategy is to give Cesc the role of goal scoring midfielder that we don't have at the moment. (Been a loooooong time since Keita scored now, don't you think!!!!???)

      • debe says:

And Pedro is a great option of course on the wings as a goal scoring winger. He's just perfect and great for us in every way (I wouldn't sell him for 40 million euros).

        • wat would our formation look like then!??!!!?!?! taking into account that Ibra continues.. ??

          • debe says:

Ibra can not continue with Villa coming.

Bojan and Pedro are our future, so they need to stay and we need to give room for them.

          • Ibra certainly can and will continue.. Bojan would take another year of bit part role whereas Pedro is not an always-starter like Messi.. so Messi Ibra Villa would be the main starters and when a player is given a rest, Pedro and Bojan would jump in as super subs..
i am more concerned about the midfield… how would we accomodate Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc???

          • I agree. Though people keep rambling on about Ibra leaving, I don't see it happening.

          • Emily says:

            Xavi–Cesc–Iniesta
            Messi —Bojan—-pedro

          • so you would be the defensive midfielder? :)

          • Maxmaxmaz says:

            lol @ barca_4ever

          • viktor07 says:

best defence is attack do you know? :) )

          • Tallon says:

            Xavi—Cesc—Iniesta
            Messi—-Villa/Torres—-Pedro
is the best formation for Barca

Well will sell: Ibra, use Yaya as part of deal for Cesc, sell Chygrynsky…possibly Keita as well.

Buy: a RB and buy Mata and Luis Suarez and buy Villa?Torres…Prefer Torres though * because of age difference*

          • luimac says:

            Currently:
            VV
            Alves Pique Puyol Abidal
Xavi Toure Iniesta (Cesc for rep for Xavo or Iniesta)
            Messi RW or false 9
Ibra Villa (Pedro and Bojan for change)

    • Piquenbauer says:

Why Cesc if we still have Xavi for 2-3 years. It would'nt be so wise to buy him unless one of the creative musqueteers (Xavi-Iniesta-Fabregas) is willing to bench from time to time…

  7. debe says:

Big and heavy players just doesn't work for us I think. They are simply too slow in their movements. Villa can work well up front. He is short enough and quick enough.

  8. debe says:

    New squad would be:

    Goalies: Valdes and Pinto

Defence: Alves, Puyol, Milito, Botia, Pique, Maxwell, Abidal (+one spot ready to give room for our many good youth defenders)

Midfield: Busquets, Xavi, Cesc, Thiago, Keita, Yaya, Iniesta

    Attack: Messi, Pedro, Bojan, Villa

    • Tallon says:

nice but we need a worthy Right Back to fill in for Alvez.!!!…then again we could use Puyol.!!!

      Valdes
      Alvez—Puyol—Pique—Abidal
      Xavi—-Cesc—Iniesta
      Messi— —Pedro
      Villa/Torres

      Subs:
      Defense: Maxwell, Botia, Milito
Midfield: Busquets, Thiago, Keita/ Edin Hazard (From Lille)
Attack: Bojan, Jefferen, Luis Suares (from Ajax)

  9. ali says:

o em almost in tears watching this..he is our prodigal son…i want our prodigal son to return..why the hell u people are discussing formations…dont look like old barca fans…it itself is the best news that he returns…cant wait to see the return of our prodigal son

    • and you want Cesc irrespective of any formation and where he would fit in??

      • ali says:

he can rotate with xavi and iniesta…good teams have star starting line ups..great teams have star benches as well..this season pep had no one to go to when he needed to make a subtitution apart from already dead henry and baby bojan…

      • ali says:

didnt deco xavi and iniesta played in the same team???i hope u r old enuff to remember that…look wat happened…iniesta displaced deco…

  10. ali says:

it is just as if he was kidnapped as a teenager by DON WENGER..and now he has grown up and realised his true home..he wanna come back but DON WENGER wants a ransom of 35 million euro

  11. Maxmaxmaz says:

WoW, I love how he paused and then thought about it and then said yes. You know how when you have something you want to get off your chest and when you do it feels good ? His face said it all SI SI

    • debe says:

I agree. It does seem like there is a very large chance he will be Barca player next season and he knows it.

  12. Jimmy says:

    why do we need him
we should focus on keeping yaya in the team and sell
thAT SHIT busquets hes the worst and most overrated layer on the world
and we should keep ibra and give him another season
but if we sell him we should not buy villa becouse
aguero is much a better option

    • debe says:

      Bojan is better than Aguero!!!

      • MiKi says:

Totaly agree Bojan will be for 2-3 year the best CF on the World

        • warcelona says:

In 2 or 3 years maby but aguero is a better player now so lets not kid ourselves.totally agree with you jimmy about busquets,i reckin hes very overrated and i cant stand his constant diving it makes barca look bad.yaya should of been on every game.however i would sell ibar and chiggy in the morning if i could

      • Scrappy says:

Are you serious??? Aguero right now is better, we dont know of bojan's full potential cuz he hasnt been getting a sustained period of playing time that aguero has been getting… aguero is a beast.

    • viktor07 says:

Busquets for sure isnt WORST he only about 22 or so and hes gonna be really good player…

  13. Anonymous_69 says:

I don't want him, sorry! Why do we need a 50m sub? Talk about a bad deal… Besides, what would happen to JDS, Thiago, or the whole bunch of promising midfielders we have coming up? Get the idea of Cesc-Xavi-Iniesta out of your head, that's a bad midfield. If I am being honest, I prefer Silva.

    • Guest says:

      Silva!!? That's insane!

He can only play on ONE position only for us. He can not be a player that can relieve Xavi, and he is not a striker either. So it would be a true disaster for everyone involved.

      • Anonymous_69 says:

Silva can play in Xavi or Iniesta's position, in the "hole", or on the wings. Cesc can only play in one position. Plus, we can pay 30m for a player like Silva who adds just as much creativity as Cesc, plus can play IN A LOT of positions, or we can pay 50m for a former youth player that will only play when Xavi/Iniesta is injured. It is because of Silva's versatility that he would be better than Cesc. Both will probably be subs, but at least Silva will play a lot more and can add a lot more.

75m for Villa and Silva, get some money back from sales, maybe bring back Botia, and we are back to treble hunting!

        • ali says:

cesc is much better than silva…despite being a central mid fielder he has more goals and asiists than silva..but most importantly he has barca DNA

  14. hexacampeon says:

cesc and villa and the world is definetely ours. actually, i would be very disappointed if cesc would stay another season in london instead joining us. time to go back home

take a look at this video ! he´s so majestic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbxfaeyVjOY

    • viktor07 says:

agree but i dont want both ibra and villa in team i prefer villa but i dont want let them try him as LW this could destroy him-> if Villa only as CF

  15. n1rvana says:

cesc is definitely coming this season from asresal. i bet there would be a part exchange for yaya + cash for him.

  16. mr.m says:

I Like Fabregas and we need a deeper midfield for sure but I'm against the move.
I prefer to bring dos Santos and Thiago up to the first team in front of paying 40-50 m€ for a own product.
If Fabreagas come to us, JdS or Thiago, maybe both, will leave. how sad isn't that?

Both the players are very good and they can share the space that Fabregas would take him self.
For next season I would like to bring back Botia, bring up JdS,Thiago and Gai.
Dalmau should play som CdR matches.
    Rafa and Henry should Leave.
If Villa arrive I would like to see him as a centre striker, which would mean that IBra is sold.
Loan Jeffren and maybe, maybe buy Ribery.
Don't know what to do with Chiggy

    Valdes/pinto

    Alves/Dalmau–Puyol/Pique/Milito/Botia ( IF needed,Bartra,Muniesa and Fontas) — Maxwell/Abidal

    Xavi/JdS–Toure/Sergi–Iniesta/Keita/Thiago

    Messi/Pedro–Villa/Bojan -Ribery/ Gai

  17. SJP says:

great so if things continue with ibra (ie being benched) we will over 100mil worth of players on our bench, kept there by players that cost less than 5mil? can anyone really think that is logical?

granted ibra may improve next season after having the summer to adapt but there is still no place for cesc. if he comes thiago (who turned down a mega money move to england in order to stay at the club, despite xavi and iniesta being ahead, unlike someone i could mention) will probably leave, and if he gets good we can always buy him back for 50mil….ludicrous

    • warcelona says:

do you honestly think cesc will be on the bench?xavi, cesc, iniesta for my midfield and as for sergio sell sell sel

      • Scrappy says:

theres no place for cesc in this system. we need our DM yaya and thers no way iniesta should be a permanent LW.

        • ali says:

wat gurantee u give that xavi will be at his best next season or what gurantee u give that one of xavi or iniesta wont be injured for long next seasons..we have always had 3 great attacking mid fielders for two spots apart from last two years…remember deco xavi and iniesta…didnt they play in the same team??

  18. Messilona says:

    Come home cesc.

  19. luimac says:

This would be my guess of line up if we get both Cesc and Villa.
    Currently:
    VV
    Alves Pique Puyol Abidal
Xavi Toure Iniesta (Cesc for rep for Xavo or Iniesta)
    Messi RW or false 9
Ibra Villa (Pedro and Bojan for change)

Ibra will not be gone for Villa.. Villa is coming for LW not CF.. Sure, we know he can play the CF position but thats not where he is plan on playing at.
Having depth in our bench is not a bad thing.. and Pep needs to learn to make more changes per game and also rotate the attacking part of the team IF all of them are playing good. Besides after we win La Liga we will play 4 Cups… so we need the players to play all this competitions. Cause We usually ALWAYS get to the final if not semis.. that means around mid season we will CONSTANTLY play every 3 or 4 days and sometimes on another country.

  20. Marc4barca says:

He said he would join soon not this summer. soon in a footballer's mind could mean 1-2 years. still think it is a bad idea to get cesc now but at the same time iniesta's injuries are worrying me.

does anyone think that laporta's true motive is to make sure this is his team for at least another year. should we win CL or La liga or both again, i won't be surprised if he came out and said he was the one who signed this person and that person. never the less, signing before the world cup is a good idea no matter the motive.

    • Mido_cule says:

Do you know that until now Calderon is claiming that he was the one who signed Cristiano.Elections are like wars and TBH I dont like elections,God why cant Laporta continue?:S:S

      • Marc4barca says:

yea, that's where my theory of laporta wanting these signings early came from. but a theory is all it is and i'm with you on that one, i hate elections.

        • Mido_cule says:

The problem with the elections is that everyone is working for himself not for the team. For example Laporta:I wont say as always that we dont need Cesc and Villa because many beleive we need them or at least one of them so I wont argue about the needs of our team but I would say Imagine that there was no elections this year,Laporta couldnt have done waht he is doing now.He is fighting for the duo's signature because he wants them to be Laporta's transfers not Rosell's one for example. Also Rosell is rumored to have secured an agreement sith Mata so imagine that Laporta will sign Cesc and Villa with Sando signing Mata this could harm the team a lot but at Elections Noone really cares for the team, the president will care for the team for sure but after(maybe) doing a bad thing.

          • SJP says:

agree with you guys about the elections they can turn nasty, i think laporta just really doesnt trust rossell to continue our success so he is trying to gurantee it before he goes. if he gets cesc and villa (unneccesary) then any signings rossell (or whover wins) make become insignificant.

but at least we dont have to worry about some wealthy yank or russian buying us as a play thing

          • Ibracadabra says:

HAHA i like the last line a lot :D

    • viktor07 says:

ofc Laporta wants to take fame for this team for another year or more (Mourinho also said that this is still his Chelsea because there is 90% players still same) but there is also point that after WC price could be higher…lets say Villa will be best scorer of WC whats gonna be price then? Anyway even if they call various names that they will sign before election i hope they ll do whats best for clup after.

  21. Mido_cule says:

BTW GUILLEM Balague is claiming that this year maybe the year for Cesc to return,he is also claiming that we are looking to offload Zlatan to EPL,I dont beleive both rumors but both him and the Daily Mail are claiming that we really offerd Zlatan to EPl so there maybe something true in those rumors.http://www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,25212,12087_6152942,00.html?

    • warcelona says:

That guillem balague guy is never wrong

      • ali says:

ya i like him a lot..he is always spot on..i remember he said that ronaldo will go to madrid next year n he did…he said same for henry and he came here

  22. 1010 says:

We don't need Villa ! we're good enough in scoring . the only one we need is a midfielder like Cesc to fill Iniesta or Xavi's absence on the pitch , good at midfield makes us very great in attack !
I bet you David can't do anything special alongside Pedro Bojan and Messi . Maybe he could be substituted for 1 of them .

  23. Hugo De Leon says:

I think we don't need Cesc. He left for greener pasture and it is not so green at Arsenal now. He left for almost nothing; he should have the decency to come back for the same amount! He loves Barca so much; why did he leave in the first place!!!

  24. DecoSouza says:

Cesc is maybe even more important than Villa. We DO NEED depth + quality. Look at the present situation – against Valladolid, neither Xavi or Iniesta will play. I think every player, including EXTREMELY overused Xavi, would welcome the rest. Look how Dani Alves got better after 1 match pause…Villa would be great "present success" signing, but Cesc is really needed i think. Even with him, there is still enough space for slow implementation of our prospects JDS + Tiago…

  25. DecoSouza says:

I'd say that i prefer signing younger star players…look at Henry. Sure, his 2nd season was fantastic, but we payed kinda a lot for a player that played well for 1 season…signs like Dani Alves solve problems for much longer period.

  26. I would take Cesc over Villa, push Iniesta to LW (though he is not a goal scoring threat, but his ability to dribble around and through defenders is amazing) and keep Ibra and Messi pushing center with Alvez running up the right. People seem to be missing the fact that Cesc has the ability to add as many goals as any winger we can buy. He is the leading scorer at Arsenal. Having Xavi, Cesc and Iniesta on the pitch at the same time would be scary. the amount of balls that can be played into the middle will make Ibra and Messi unstoppable.

    • Scrappy says:

Iniesta to LW???? lol not only is he not a goal threat but he cant perform his dribbling skills on the wing…. how many times does he have to flop on the wing for you guys to realize he's no winger.

      • Spain would beg to differ. Iniesta is by far one of the best ball controllers in today's game, with the ability to split defenders, which he does constantly on the LW, yet when he plays that position our scoring threat diminishes. However the amount of class balls he is able to plays into the middle and the movement he creates both put a constant threat at opponents. But without Iniesta in midfield won't our creativity takes a nose dive? Not with the addition of Cesc. Cesc will add a goal scoring threat as well as creativity for our midfield. Who would you rather have on the wing? Ribery? Six goals in all competitions? No. Cesc coming and Villa not, is the best move for the team.

        • Scrappy says:

lol lol, iniesta on the wing is what decreases our creativity dude, theres a reason why xavi and iniesta are the best MIDFIELD duo in the world. Not even gonna bother argue with you, if you think inesta is a better winger than ribery then i have nothing else to say to you. Goalscoring is not our problem, what we need is the beast yaya back in midfield and a solid LB. Maxwell at LB will not solve our defensive problems.

        • Scrappy says:

i never said he's not a good ball controller btw, i just said what he does in midfield he cant perform on the wing. as i said, theres a reason why xavi-iniesta is the best midfield partnership in the world. Puting iniesta on the wing will ruin our flow.

          • You sure "laugh out loud" quite a lot, while adding no substance to a debate. The objective of a winger is to be able to bring the ball in from the flanks and provide balls for your strikers, whether it be via quick ground passes, or crosses. Who has the abilities to do that? Iniesta. How exactly will Ribery add substantially to our squad? With Cesc in the midfield we will make up for a lot of the lost midfield creativity that would occur if we put Iniesta at the wing. I don't disagree that Iniesta and Xavi are the best midfield partnership in the world, but you know what would be second best? Xavi and Cesc. What exactly do Yaya and Maxwell have anything to do with signing Cesc?

    • Mido_cule says:

I dont beleive that we need anyone of them but I would pick Cesc over Villa.

  27. 1010 says:

And if Ibra operate his nose he'll do better than now . I think he lost his self-confidence among our beautiful boyz and if he feels he's pretty , everything will be OK . at least we can exploit his high length !

  28. Xaviesta says:

that sounds really good! go and pay this money!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Andy says:

I don't think in a million years that Barcelona will go through all that trouble (and money) of buying Cesc and then put him on the bench. If both Cesc and Villa comes then I think it is bye-bye Ibra. And the starting line-up will be:

    Valdés
    Alves-Piqúe-Puyol-Abidal
    Xavi-Busquets-Cesc
    Messi-Villa-Iniesta

And to all of you who say that Don Andrés can't play on the left wing where were you at the begining of last season when he dominated on the left wing? Remember the game against Atletico Madrid, he was amazing!!

    • I think Iniesta is very good as a link-up/provider on the left wing and would be way better than an aging diva such as Ribery.

      • Scrappy says:

aging diva ribery????? ribery is 1 year older than iniesta. once again u make me laug

        • Ribery adds nothing to our side except a passion for underage prostitutes.

        • One, Ribery is indeed a Diva and based on that fact alone, is much less likely to come to Barca.
Two, Iniesta is already part of our team and won't cost us +$30 mil. to marginally improve our side.
Three, Ribery is indeed aging and not an immortal, infallible entity, as you seem to believe.

    • Scrappy says:

atletico madrid???? anybody will look good against atletico madrid in the league. expecially that time when abel resino was in charge and had no idea how to contruct a defence.

  30. Paco says:

Welcome back. Whenever it's gonna be, we'll receive you with warm hearts :)

  31. varrio says:

One thing is for sure: Cesc, Xavi and Iniesta can't all play in midfield, we need one DM.
On the other hand we don't have a decent sub for Xavi at the moment, so more good player in midfield certainly wouldn't hurt. I can see Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc rotating, Iniesta sometimes on the LW.

It all depends on the price imo. If we can get him for under 40m € (which I doubt) then yes, otherwise I would look for a cheaper solution.

As for Villa, I would buy him only if Ibra leaves. They are both classic central forwards and I also think Pedro should be rewarded for his great season with a place in the starting eleven.

  32. Anonymous_69 says:

I think that if both Cesc and Villa come in, Ibra will leave, BUT I HOPE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN! If Cesc comes in and is a starter, Iniesta will be moved to the LW (which isn't as much as a bad thing as some people think), so if Villa came, where would Ibra play?

    • Mido_cule says:

      I agree with u.
1-Iniesta on the left wing have a very few fans but I am one of Fans of Iniesta on the left wing in case we have a real winger like Pedro not a no10 like Messi and Pep loves to put Andres on the left wing in strong away matches,I have also read an article for Ramzi about Iniesta on the left wing and I think he can be great there but still his best is at the attacking midfielder role IMHO.
2-You know that I wasnt the biggest fan of the Ibra move but we should keep him and we shouldnt presure him by signing another A+ striker,he already have a pressure from a very promising Bojan but we cant have both Villa and Ibra in one team.

    • claussen_barca says:

i agree with you, but i think ibra would leave after next season because, i don't se him in the starting line-up with villa coming in. i hope he stays and play a great season on 2010/11.

  33. Scrappy says:

its like putting yaya at CB
    like putting essien at CB
like putting drogba on the wing
    like putting a.cole on LW
putting iniesta at LW and playing him out of position while he's the best midfielder along with xavi will limit his abilities to keep possesion in midfield with xavi and make darting runs directly to the box. wingers need pace. iniesta lacks pace and looks like a fish without water when he plays on the wing. And for those who say we play him on the wing in away CL games…..well maybes thats a contributor to why we have not won a damn away game in knockout round under pep. iniesta on the wing against good teams will look not even half his normal self…..
