Toure: “I will be back”

Toure: “I will be back”

Ivory Coast midfielder and fresh Manchester City signing Yaya Toure (27) admitted his sadness after the big money move to England. Despite the fact that Yaya will team up with his brother Kolo and according to different British sources will become the best ever paid football player in the Premier League with nothing less than £200,000 per-week, he is sad to leave a club that is a dream for all other players and is “his life”.

“The decision to leave was complicated because Barça is the team of my whole life,” stated Toure, according to Fifa’s official website.

“It was a sad decision because everybody wants to come to Barça and I have had to leave, but not playing has been difficult and it wouldn’t have been normal to just sit on the bench and pick up the money.”

“I wanted to bring more joy to the fans, but life is like that. Barça is a great club with the best players in the world, but I have played less in this third season, which for me has been difficult.”

“I don’t feel that I’m away from Barça and I’m sure I’ll go back one day,” he concluded.

Yaya Toure completed a switch to England and became a “Citizen” after he spent 3 successful seasons as a Barcelona player. Yaya had an essential role in the treble winning season of 2008-9.

………………………………….. to knock us out of the champions league of curse……like what morientes did to madrid, what eto'o did to us this year, runing out great players due to politics will only come back to haunt us, 1 positive is that it wont be next year :)

      so true…

    • Laud says:

      You are stupid.

      • disyaboij123 says:

        everything he said is true..
        and im stupid because?__________________

Not stupid, not informed. There's a difference. Man City isn't in the champions league yet.

        • Laud says:

If you carefully observe the indentation declension, you'll see that my post was in response to Scrappy.

However, since you lumped yourself in with Scrappy's ridiculous assumption, I'll address the two of you. Your belief tacitly presupposes that Guardiola would, in the face of all rationality, prefer Catalan nationalism to a winning atmosphere; he would sacrifice economy for ideology. If you do not want to admit this, the only supposition left is that Sergi outplayed Yaya (which, if you watched more than 10 games this season, you'd see is the case). Your assessment –if you want to even call it that– reveals a clear ignorance of Catalan identity, Pep's integrity, FC Barcelona organization as a whole, and demonstrates a lack of historical or theoretical context.

To assume anything else is abjectly stupid. Since he, and by extension and your own admission, you, assumed so, you two are stupid.

Catalan radio station RAC1 announces that Chygrynskiy returns to Shakhtar for €12-15 million.

    • Joker says:

      That's ridiculous… IF it's true.
So we basically offered 10-13 mil. to Shakhtar for nothing???
I'm pissed already but at the same time happy that Txiki is not the club's technical director anymore.

      • petersays says:

Sorry, but Chygry was Guardiolas move, as was Hleb and Caceres. If anyone should be blaimed for these transfers it is Guardialo. But sure, Txiki brought Keirrison and Henrique – not doing to good either.

        • Joker says:

Guardiola is to blame as any coach for a failed trasfer. But Guardiola didn't decide how much we should pay for the player. That was Txiki's and Laporta's job.

I hope Rosell puts an and to that overspending shit.

          • Ramzi says:

When Pep announced publicly that he need the player -and only THIS player- at any cost, there was no margin for any negotiations anymore. Shakhtar is a very rich club. They dont need money. Their owned was clear:25 M take it or leave it. Txiki said: thanx but no thanx. Pep said I insist. Laporta decided to fulfill his coach's wish and bought the player.

Now obviously all the shit will be thrown on the weak node: Txiki. But thats Barca.

          • Ramzi says:

*Their owner was clear:25 M take it or leave it.

        • hamad_ali says:

I've read somewhere that tixiki has agreed to sell him for shaktar for 8 million euros . if thats true , then i'll say well done for rossel and andoni for selling him for double that amount .

          • Joker says:

They can't be worse than Laporta and Txiki in negotiations, can they?

            Nicely done then.

        • Half says:

LOL, that's the understatement of the year. Those two were massive flops, not even getting a single game for a combined fee of 23m euros.

  4. Half says:

It seems pretty certain: Chygrynskiy back to Shakthar for 15m euros. That's a good price even though we paid 25m! His market value is probably no more than 8-10m euros after his stay with us. It was an expensive stay with us, 10m euros for one season, but his wages was low (I think 1.2m euros only).

  5. mike in africa says:

pep is no god when it comes to buying players; he has spent big bucks without getting much return in the transfer market. in comparison, rijkaard's abidal, yaya and rafael alone were legendary signings.

    • Joker says:

Abidal a legendary signing? He was already proven world class before coming to Barca. Same for Rafa.

      • mike in africa says:

yea, but they weren't expensive. and they fit and complement our system perfectly.

        • Joker says:

Again, it's not Frank or Pep that decide how much we pay for a player. Spain is not England where the manager has total control.
Btw comparing the market of today with the market of 2004 is just stupid.

          • mike in africa says:

you don't need a time machine or be smart to know we've paid too much for ibra and chygy… no? it's clear that pep has, the respect of the club, influence or even control over transfer matters, that when he falls head over heels for a player, the club tries to do all they can. it's more pep's fault than anyone else.

          • BarcaFan says:

But we won the league and Ibra helped us, no?

    • Half says:

I don't think Abidal was a "legendary signing". He did not have this season's form in his first two seasons for us and we paid quite a lot for a 28 year old. Rijkaard also had some really bad calls though, like Quaresma, Maxi Lopez etc, but Pep has had a very large amount of really really bad ones. That's worrying.

      • mike in africa says:

he wasn't good in his first season. but from then onwards, he's been a beast. his contribution alone in the treble-winning season more than justifies the €15 price tag. i believe he's 27 when he signed for us… but wat the heck, when he's fit, he's the best LB in the world, at least the cules know it.

  6. Guardiola said just the other day that he had no intention of selling Chyggy. He reaffirmed the fact that he will be a player for the future.

  7. yasha says:

hleb,chyggy,caceres,Keirrison,henrique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 what the fuck are these players!!! barca sucks in transfers!!! also buying ibra and losing eto'o and yaya!!!!!!! what is happening with these club!!! we didn't buy a player in the last 3years WHO COULD SHINE except alves, also we didn't byu him too chip.just yaya was good his price but we losed him!!!! elmundo vas happy we losed him cuz we recieved money but we will regret more than real losed makelele
how about inter:eto'o,snider, lucio, milito!!! mourinho is really amazing in transfer… that's why they could win cl!

BARCA WILL REGRET LOSING YAYA MORE THAN REAL LOSED MAKELELE

BARCA IS GOING TO BE A CLUB JUST SPANISH PLAYER CAN SHINE IN THIS TEAM!!!! THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT VILLA AND WILL BUY CESC!!! THAT'S TOO BAD JUST SPANISH PLAYERS CAN SHINE IN THIS CLUB!!! AND WE LOSED YAYA AND ETO'O!!!!

    • Half says:

Calm down. Makelele was a fixed starter and they had no replacement. Yaya was a sub for us this season, so the situations are not comparable at all.

Our transfers have been very bad, but don't say that only Spanish players can succeed in Barca. We have several players that are not Spanish and that do good.

    • Joker says:

Lol at comparing Yaya to Makelele.

  8. zico says:

    Gardiola is a faggot.

Busquets and Keita over Yaya, and IBRA, the biggest big-game flop of all time over Etoo + like 60mil euros….. hleb, caceres, CHYGRYNSKY for 25MIL!!!

    Sigh…

    • El Magico says:

I totally agree with you on that! If should have sold Keita instead.

      • Heinze says:

We should'nt have sold any midfielders we were weak in midfield last season and we'll be even weaker now that we have just 4 midfielders.

Instead of selling players with should buy players the squad are very thin right now and all Barca is talking about is Cesc a transfer that I see as highly unlikely. We should buy upcoming players that accept being on the bench.

By the way Ibra is'nt the biggest big-game flop of all time have you guys forgotten that he scored the decisve and only goal in on of the most crucial games of the season in the first classico? Or when he scored the only goal at Mallorca? His two magnificent goals against Arsenal at Emirates

  9. shoko_cule says:

What he said is beautiful. Thanks for everything Yaya!

  10. doris86pl says:

Yaya I will wait for your come back to Camp Nou! :) good luck with your new team:)

  11. memo says:

Fuck you yaya. We don't want you back! Go collect your greedy checks elswhere! Glad this whinning ***** is gone. Him and his agent. All those saying hes "the best" in his position seem to forget he was a nobody until he joined Barcelona. We made him the player he is and will continue to make great players forever. Lets see him win 6 titles anywhere else. (not happening) Be it Busquets or whoever next year we will still have the best dm in the world.

    • barcafan6000 says:

stfu can a Busi mark a player like Drogba. Can Busi play CB.Yaya contributed a lot to barca so he deserved all that he achieved in Barca

      • Scrappy1 says:

True, im just picturing Busquetts against drogba in that 1 v 1. Busquetts will just bounce of him

  12. jerryprez says:

    Good luck Yaya!
    We surely will miss u!

  13. GoBeautifulGame says:

Dani and Yaya look so cute in that picture.

I think we fans demand way too much of the players and technical staff at times. It's hard to improve a team that is already very close to perfection. Barca was eliminated from last CL and Copa del Rey for a couple of details.

Good luck Yaya! We look forward to welcomin you back someday.
