Puyol and Xavi told Pep not to get Robinho
British sports tabloid Dailymail, report that Barca’s senior players, including the influential Carles Puyol and Xavi, have told Guardiola – a Robinho fan – that the Brazilian would hurt team spirit in the dressing room.
Robinho’s hopes of seeing out the season in the sunshine of Barcelona look like being dashed as the club’s players are urging coach Pep Guardiola not to sign him on loan from Manchester City.
City boss Roberto Mancini has apparently given the all-clear for £32.5million Robinho to spend the rest of the season somewhere else after a series of poor performances.
It has also been reported that, City would prefer Robinho to go to Barca rather than other suitors Benfica or Santos because they fancy bringing in a player on loan in return, possibly promising young striker Bojan Krkic.

yea it is funny how people always ignore the daily mail cause they know it's a rubbish paper but believe now cause it says something they wanna hear, that's kind of childish. first of all xavi and puyol are our team heart and soul, they are not the ones to speak bad of another player or question the coach's motives.

Yes i have seen him. ALOT. Very closely in fact over the last couple of years. And yea im actually wondering what Robinho have you been watching , cause the one I have has contributed next to nothing for his price tag and calling him "world class" after seeing his performances in the last two years is absolutely ridiculous. The same way DUNGA starts Maicon over Alves (who has proven that he is the undisputed best RB in the world in the last 3 years) , and the same way Andre Santos starts over Michel Bastos or Felipe. Coaches have preferences and Dunga picking him doesnt justify anything. Diego is a much much better player than Robinho (he was spectacular for Werder). Dunga probably starts him for his experience thats all.
But , seriously , how any1 can say he is world class and will start at Barca is beyond me. The guy cant get a starting berth in a team like Manchester City and ahead of players like Martin Petrov. lol.. He is a classic example of a player who showed alot of promise earlier , had a decent season , raised everyones expectations and then turned out to be an epic fail. AT LEAST at club level.

pedro and bojan have a great talent. pedro should improve a bit his passing skills and bojan must keep working to get minutes and so he will grow get calmness and selfconfidence.

Think about it for a moment. Players like Thiago, Muniesa, Gai, Jonathan. They are young. What is better for them- playing some 10 minutes every three weeks (not every game will be an easy 3:0 lead and it's more than three of them, so all of them won't polay anyway- there is Bojan and Pedro as well, let's not forget them) or maybe playing REGULAR football in the reserve team for one more year or two more years and than being promoted when they have a real chance of playing more often, so their progress is not stopped?
When they will be ready- they WILL be promoted, just like Pedro and Busquets were. If there is one thing one cannot accuse Guardiola is that he doesn't believe in our Academy players.
